Once again, Secretary Kerry attempts to scare the Jewish State into reckless concessions, implying that the only way to preserve Jewish demography (majority) is by conceding Jewish geography (the over-towering mountain ridges of Judea and Samaria). Once again, he reverberates inauthentic, manipulated Palestinian statistics, and therefore ignores the demographic reality in the combined area of Judea, Samaria and pre-1967 Israel: an up-trending 66% Jewish majority, featuring an unprecedented Westernization of Arab demography and a robust Jewish demographic (fertility and net-migration).
I regret certain comments I made to my colleagues, friends, and students. I didn’t make these remarks maliciously but after they left my mouth it was obvious they never traveled through my brain. Looking down at my forever-growing gut I remember another regret.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, another Democrat from Connecticut, called the US’s abstention from the vote “unconscionable.” Sen. Ron Wyden, Democrat from Oregon stated he was “deeply disappointed” that the Obama administration allowed such a “one-sided” resolution to pass and that “actions like this will only take us further from the peace we all want to see.” In the same vein, Sen. Mark Warner, Democrat from Virginia wrote: “I am dismayed that the administration departed from decades of U.S. policy by not vetoing the UN resolution regarding Israeli settlements.”
“Occupier” is a legal term whose definition does not apply to Israel under the law. Israel’s legal title and rights to all of its present territory stem directly from an act of international law made in the post-WWI San Remo Agreement, which was then further recognized and incorporated in subsequent binding acts, from the Covenant of the League of Nations all the way through Article 80 of the United Nations’ charter.
The Jewish settlers of Ofra and Amona have been wondering what has happened to neighboring Arab villages such as Silwad. According to Gibor, between 80 and 90 percent of Dir Dibwan’s residents have an American citizenship. One local resident, Muhammad Manasra, who splits his life between the village and California, estimates the population in the two neighboring villages at 16,000, most of them living abroad…

Barack Obama’s decision to abstain from, and therefore allow, last week’s vote to censure Israel at the U.N. Security Council is a fitting capstone for what’s left of his foreign policy. Strategic half-measures, underhanded tactics and moralizing gestures have been the president’s style from the beginning. Israelis aren’t the only people to feel betrayed by the results.
President Obama’s collaboration with the December 23, 2016 UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2334, which condemns Israel’s settlements policy, has defied history and reality, injuring the peace process and US national security.
Many people chalk up feeling blue in winter as simply a fact of cold weather and lack of sunshine. But 4 to 6 percent of people may have a winter depression which is clinically referred to as Seasonal Affective Disorder. In most cases, seasonal affective disorder symptoms appear during late fall or early winter and go away during the sunnier days of spring and summer.
In the years ahead, all conservatives everywhere absolutely MUST do two things. Firstly, they must not act like sociopathic liberal progressives, and secondly, they must do their part to maintain the freedoms inherently granted them in their Republic. The reason madness got so far in the past is that sane people kept their mouths shut!
Having seen too much death and destruction, the mind shuts down, at least to the warrior. The amygdala, our brain’s fight-or-flight center, has been overwhelmed with sensory data no one is prepared to process. And yet, they did…process it I mean. It may have been done in a very perfunctory way, and likely was, because they were in survival mode.
In Book One of those travel adventures, I talk about a number of different times I traveled to Chibi Village and Puqi (Chibi City) in Hubei Province. On this page today, I have collated from the articles listed below, a few photographs which I have tried to present sequentially as a trip to Chibi Town and Chibi City/Puqi. Each has a little commentary which might only make sense if you actually read the articles or eventually buy the book.
“The struggle of the Maccabees was one of the most dramatic clashes of civilizations in human history…. The Maccabees overcame one of the most magnificent spiritual, political and military challenges in Jewish history due to the spirit of the people, rather than the failed spirit of the establishment ….”
I remembered groups of these same students collecting old clothes from their neighborhood so the poor amongst us could stay warm. I saw older and younger students volunteering for programs like Peer Outreach and DARE helping each other fight off the temptations of drugs and alcohol.
The fact that we don’t like a foreign ethnicity or it’s culture, does not detract from our duty as citizens to be decent human beings. But when you force me to accept people, I object! When you punish me for not deceiving you with politically correct language, I object. If you ask me a question, I will give you my honest opinion. If you are a Politically Correct person who prefers that I lie, then sod off!
The reason that was such a surprise too me was the fact that, in the 20 years I have led the fight against Agenda 21, I have been ignored and stonewalled by many leading conservative groups as they refused to even utter the words Agenda 21. Now, in a Senate hearing room was a man they respected and had come to absorb his wisdom. And what was he saying? Exactly the message I had been trying to get them to hear all these years.
But the EPA’s report isn’t the only one that exonerates fracking. Officials at the U.S. Department of Energy, and at the U.S. Geological Survey, have also said that there is simply no evidence of widespread contamination due to fracking.
The Liberal Progressives have done their best over the years to guilt trip western societies but when you read the article listed above and see Raheel Raza’s video, you can’t help but note that the guilt foisted onto society by the left is ‘false guilt.’
The incoming Trump administration is reportedly searching Jerusalem for a feasible site in which to locate the US Embassy. Kellyanne Conway, senior aide, told media that moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was a “big priority” for President-elect. Trump “made it very clear during the campaign… and as president-elect I’ve heard him repeat it several times privately, if not publicly.” (We’ll see – after 20.01.2017!)
According to former intelligence officer and New York police officer Benjamin Kelios. “This will become nothing more than a exercise in bashing President-elect Donald Trump and the Democrats trying to put ‘stink’ on Trump’s nominees for his administration,” said Kelios. “The GOP must not rollover for the Democrats. We didn’t have a special commission for Fast and Furious, the IRS scandal, Benghazi or other suspicious activity in the Obama administration. Why start now?” he added.
He publicly spewed anti-Semitism and later in life as a Congressional candidate knowingly accepted $50,000 in campaign contributions given and raised by Islamic Radicals who openly supported Islamic terrorism and were leaders of front groups for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Terminating the Department of State policy which refers to the whole of Jerusalem as an international (not Israeli) city, recognizing unified Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and relocating the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, represent a litmus test of President-elect Donald Trump’s resolve to Make America Great Again, by defying Arab/Muslim pressure and threats, as well as overruling the politically-correct establishment of the Department of State.
This chart takes the calculations further, down to 722 BC when Hoshea of Israel was taken captive allegedly in the 6th year of Hezekiah. In fact it was the 6th year of Ahaz. These two charts ending in 722 BC show a discrepancy of 19 years. REMEMBER that these reigns are SYNCHRONIZED in the Bible. In Math that translates as 260 = 241
Newspapers, magazines, television, radio and the Internet awash in comments that Trump was a racist, a bigot, and a xenophobic bully. But the truth — noticeably avoided by the media — is that the U.S. Congress passed a bill and it was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2006 ordering a wall to be built at the U.S.-Mexican border and more Border Patrol agents should be hired for the Southern border.
Just as iPatriot has done its share to spread the word of conservatism and oppose the fanatics trying to destroy our world with their totalitarian doctrines, the two organizations which wrote to me are seeking to do their own bit. Both are currently running crowdfunding campaigns.
Something happened to our old computer, meaning the operating system, a few days ago. Something red covered the screen, so I called Apple Support for the beginning of lots of fun — of which none of it was fun. First, they did away with our old operating system and began the long process of giving us a new one. After a day or so — translate, a year or so, “year or so” it seemed, we have a new operating system.
On this page today, I have collated from the articles listed below, a few photographs which I have tried to present sequentially as a trip from Yichang up to Sanxia. Each has a little commentary which might only make sense if you actually read the articles or eventually buy the book.
Where are they during this newest of attacks against our nation and its Constitution? These attacks include having a President Elect refuse to disclose his tax returns in fear that it would show his indebtedness to nations that don’t represent what we believe in. They are both competitors and adversaries. The attacks include having the President Elect refuse to state that our primary adversary, Russia, successfully hacked our political infrastructure.
As a warning to those readers who hold that every English word in the Bible is Divine, infallible and immutable, this article indicates that some sections of Israelite history have been recorded incorrectly by the ancient redactors. To date no-one has been successfully able to synchronise the biblical data provided for the houses of Judah and Israel for this period of history, with either each other, or with the known history of the Ancient Near East.
I found this little conversation interesting, because it was so realistic. And at the same time, mildly amusing. Dolores and I once met a man at a road crossing of the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey. We asked him where the AT went from there. “To Georgia,” he replied. We had gathered as much. But my question concerned the next mile or so.
Their final concern was that a Bill of Rights might confuse people about the origin of their rights. The Declaration of Independence had already made it clear that our rights are inalienable because they are endowed by God. Government’s job isn’t to grant them, it’s to protect them. They felt a list of rights might inadvertently enforce the wrong idea.
Obama’s ability to send mixed messages that at once condemn and condone; that praise and berate, to stir confusion and inflame passions became a hallmark of the President’s next eight years. To the casual observer Obama was condemning racial division. However, to those who felt themselves its victim, he provided the oxygen needed to stoke forgotten anger.
Domestically Donald Trump is going to be an ethical nightmare. The Dakota Access oil pipeline’s impact on Native American lands is now going to be addressed by an individual who owns a part of the company building it. The head of the IRS of which Trump will appoint will now control his taxes.
On this page today I want to bring to your attention three videos that relate to the negative effect of Islam on Western Democracies. Before the Far Left Liberal Progressives start screaming and shouting, let me just tell you that the American brand of Leftist Liberal Progressivism is precisely what the first speaker – a Muslim – indicates is the problem in America.
We sometimes tend to think that our knowledge of history is based on irrefutable evidence, but as pointed out by Sir Alan Gardiner (1961) [James Et.Al 1991 p.222] in reference to Egyptian History, our knowledge is based in a collection of rags and tatters. The King’s Calendar demonstrates that following the synchronisms provided in the books of Kings and Chronicles does put Jehoash of Israel on the throne by 806 BC, thereby making possible the primary text reading of the Saba’a Inscription that in Adad-Nirari’s 5th year (806/05 BC), he reached Damascus.
The Israeli government is expected to approve an additional 15 thousand work permits for PA Arabs. The Arab workers would be allowed in Israel to work in the fields of agriculture and trade. The defense establishment is pushing to increase the number of permits even further.
An Inspector General’s investigative report claims that medical staff members at a Veterans Affairs hospital in Florida allowed the body of a deceased veteran to begin its decomposition process for almost 10-hours and when they discovered the severity of the situation they attempted to to cover it up.
Over the last couple of years the Ambassador has published 27 six minute videos at Youtube. You can watch the entire mini-seminar if you are so inclined or pick and choose from the list of six minute videos found at the bottom of his articles here at Kingscalendar. Today my purpose is to bring to your attention one of his videos. This is video 21 of 27 and is titled “Host countries, beware of Islam-driven terror.”
According to a Bloomberg study: “An examination of foreign capital flow into Israel shows a near tripling from 2005 when the so-called BDS was started…. Israel’s economy is expected to grow 2.8% in 2016, compared with 1.8% for the US and the EU. In 2015, Israel’s industrial high-tech exports rose 13%, from 2014, to $23.7BN….”
Fake news and lies are also dangerous. People were lucky at that pizza place in Washington DC when a man with an assault rifle invaded an innocent family restaurant because he believed the fake news stating Hillary Clinton was involved in a crime involving children. No one was hurt but the horrific possibilities were clear.
Whilst President Obama and the Democrats were doing their best to be ‘inclusive’ which reads as ‘rejecting Christianity in favor of Islam,’ the American people fundamentally rejected the destruction of biblical Christianity.
This article relates to the issue of the 480 years quoted in 1 Kings 6:1 in relation to the Mosaic Exodus and the building of Solomon’s Temple. It is in fact an ‘excerpt’ from Chapter 14 of the King’s Calendar. According to the authorised version, 1 King’s 6:1, tells us that Solomon’s 4th year is the 480th year since the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt. The Septuagint however tells us that it is the 440 th. year.
Perhaps if anyone had noticed the Ambassador’s words of wisdom in 2015 the election results might have been different. Now, despite the raging and foaming at the mouth of the losers, the election is over, and rather than acting like tantrum throwing children or worse, acting like hate filled anarchists, the people of the United States of America need act like mature adults who love and respect their democratic freedoms.
Ask Wyoming welder Andy Johnson. His misdeed? He built a stock pond on his eight-acre farm. The Environmental Protection Agency proceeded to fine him $16 million, or $37,500 a day. Seibler lists several other federal offenses that have appeared on the Twitter page “A Crime a Day.”
Since the King’s Calendar puts Jehoram’s death at 849 BC., current academic opinion that Hazael of Syria commenced to reign around 842/841 BC. can be seen to be incorrect. (Be aware that there is absolutely no archaeological or historical evidence to support current academic opinion.)...When it comes to chronological events in the records, academics can’t even agree how the chronological data ought to be applied. Referring to Tiglath-Pileser’s campaigns, we have two different dates for the exact same campaign. (E.R. Thiele (1966, p.97) puts the 743 BC campaign in 738 BC.)
This act ensured that our property rights were free from seizure. If we paid attention. To our Founding Fathers, property meant more than land. As James Madison explained in his 1792 treatise, Property, the term “embraces everything to which a man may attach a value and have a right…” He goes on to list merchandise, money, opinions, free communication of opinions, religious opinions and the practice dictated by them, personal safety and liberty, the free use of your faculties and the free choice of the objects upon which to use your faculties.
She told me it was a starter cake. Not having a clue as to what a starter cake is supposed to be I asked for an explanation. She told me she received the starter liquid from her sister. She explained that every time one made the cake they would have enough left to give the extra mix to two other people who wanted to make their own Christmas cake.
There was little in Tucker’s plan that had anything to do with teaching how to read, write or calculate. That wasn’t important. Instead it was a plan to control the children’s knowledge base to fit Tucker’s vision of creating the proper global citizen cog. Today, Tucker’s proposal made to Hillary Clinton that fateful day is completely in place.
In Exodus 14:5 however, we read that Pharaoh had to be told that the Israelites had fled, as though it was unknown to him. Furthermore, he appears confused by it, asking ‘Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?’ In Antiquities 2:15:3 [Whiston. W. (1993) The Works of Josephus. Hendrickson Publishers. Massachusetts. USA p.75] Josephus records that pharaoh ‘was mightily concerned that this (Exodus) had been procured by the magic arts.’
He accused Israel of “policies of repression and discrimination against our Palestinian brothers” and condemned the so-called Israeli “Muezzin Law”, which would prohibit houses of worship from using loudspeakers, specifically mosques, which disturb the sleep of nearby residents when the Muezzin calls worshipers to prayer in the early hours of the morning.
The first thing that strikes me is that the King-elect simply refuses to go with that most heinous crime against which the liberal progressives rage – the status quo. He apparently does this of course because he is not beholden to either the Democrats or the Republicans.
It doesn’t say, but I’ll bet it’s a fiction book, and it’s about everything that could have happened to a wagon train rolling through the West in the 1800s. That’s why I think it’s fiction; not all that happened could have happened in a real-life trip.
Proponents of the bill argue that Israel needs to ensure the primacy of the Knesset. They further argue that there is no point in bowing to the will of an international community that is constitutionally incapable of ever standing with Israel.
“An examination of foreign capital flow into Israel shows a near tripling from 2005 when the so-called BDS was started…. Israel’s economy is expected to grow 2.8% in 2016, compared with 1.8% for the US and the EU.
And life moved on. Until now, when I’m old enough to kick the bucket any day now. I think about that sometimes in the morning when I awake and look over to see Dolores sleeping next to me. It will likely be a shock for her, that morning she wakes up and discovers I’ve gone ahead to the next set of trails.
All academic chronological reconstructions are based upon the presumptive acceptance of the ‘factual truth’ of the biblical assertion in relation to Jehu, Jehoram and Ahaziah, even though there is no corroborating evidence to indicate that the story is true. In the case of the historical direct evidence documents upon which historians rely, documents like the the Bible, Mesha’s Stela, the Kurkh Stela of Shalmaneser III and the Babylonian Chronicles (Wiseman 1961), not only are they written from the perspectives of the writers, but their methods of chronological recording are all different.
Starting in 586 BC as the Year of the Babylonian Exile, the King’s Calendar synchronizes all the chronological data for the Divided Kingdom period and arrives eventually at 970 BC for Solomon’s 4th year, the year in which he commenced building the Temple. Note that in doing so, the King’s Calendar discovered 13.5 years of overlapping reigns and so uses a composite total that is less than that used by other researchers.
“Today, we can destroy every spot which is under the Zionist regime’s control with any volume of fire power (that we want) right from here… Islam has given us this wish, capacity and power to destroy the Zionist regime so that our hands will remain on the trigger from 1,400 km away for the day when (a confrontation with Israel) takes place.” – Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami, Iranian Revolutionary Guard
Could there be a place in middle earth where everyone’s lost things end up? Could Tolkien be right and there is a society of things beneath us that dares to confuse and frustrate by taking what we think is important? I wonder if these beings are small. They must live deep within the earth and come out only at night. They must be strong little critters that have long ears and even longer beards. I doubt if they wear colorful clothes because they’ve never been seen.
Waldrup, inspired by a young passionate fan, recorded a raw, unedited version of the Grammy award-winning Lee Ann Womack hit in her living room and it’s now been viewed almost 10 million times and shared over 161,000 times . Feedback and response has been flooding in from all over the world, fans have shared their personal stories of struggle and the renewal of their faith after watching the video and over 46,000 new people have connected with Waldrup on Facebook.
That story, typical of the rural mindset in which it occurred, is also typical of the book. This tale would no doubt never have been published had it not been for the popularity of the original Little House on the Prairie, which became very popular.
President-elect Trump, we do not want to ‘repeal and replace’ Obamacare any more than we want to ‘fix’ Common Core, or ‘tinker’ with HUD’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing. We want these centrally controlled mandates run down, rooted out wherever they lead, and vaporized until there is no trace they ever existed.
But she got up on a raised wooden garden placed there for tenants, about three feet high. She stood with her back to me, while I quietly came up from behind and grabbed her around her middle. She didn’t fight, and I picked her up and huddled her close to my heavy jacket. She might have been cold — or something — because she stayed quietly against my jacket.
Our current perception of what is recorded in relation to the death of Josiah has been influenced by two very prominent things, one of which is the wording in the biblical historical narrative, and the other is ‘academic opinion’ in relation to ancient history. On this latter point it has to be reiterated that academic opinion only relies on biblical texts when there is an absence of other evidence. In fact our perceptions of this biblical event may not be correct within the true historical context.
From media reports to editorial comments to readership comments on all manner of articles and on Facebook and other social media outlets, there is a hate war going on. Is this what America truly is? A country of hate filled people?
I remember the good now days when our Sunday began as early as weekdays and we would run out to Market Basket in Portsmouth in order to beat the crowds. The only problem was many thought the same so the store was usually most crowed during the early morning hours. We would then travel to The Christmas Tree Shoppe, Big Lots, or even the Dollar Store to look for, find, and then buy items we simply did not need.
Small wonder that Obama structured this flawed and risky deal as an executive agreement. He wanted to make an end-run around Congress, which would likely have voted the deal down if it had been presented to lawmakers as a formal treaty.
Last week’s article concluded that while there are two ‘Direct Documentary Evidences’ used to support the Academic contention that King Ahab fought at the Battle of Qarqar, in fact, their testimonies conflict with each other in that one completely omits the ‘fact in issue.’ Additionally, we saw that even if they agreed, they could not legally be considered ‘corroborative’ evidence, as corroborative evidence must be independent evidence.
The states created the Electoral College to make the election of the President a STATE election. The Founding Fathers, particularly those from small States, were very concerned that they would be smothered by the larger states. Under the plan, the connection to the popular vote was the selection of state electors. The popular vote was to be used to select individuals trusted by the people to select the President. The great mistake Electoral College opponents make is to believe the President was supposed to be elected by the people. It was never the plan.
Where is the outrage? Construction workers began placing the first blocks of a security wall around the Ain al-Hilweh ‘refugee camp’ in Lebanon. Ain al-Hilweh, home to thousands of Arabs and their descendants from Judea and Samaria who fled during and after the 1948 and 1967 wars with Israel.
Our nation will once again become unified and live the way Donald J. Trump demands we live. Global warming will once and forever be declared a myth as will all scientific knowledge that dares going against the majesty and brilliance of our new President. All will once again be well and may God have pity on our souls.
I think it may have been the extra material, about Robert Alden Rubin’s wife, his old dog, acquaintances on the Appalachian Trail, crowded details about Trail Days at a town along the way, and more that held my attention. It wasn’t just about Rubin’s hike on the AT, but all about that hike held my attention.
I’ve followed paths in Pennsylvania, where they were squeezed in between housing developments and alongside military units containing rockets to fire at the Soviet Union, should that occasion develop. Other paths were just through fairly open woods, past a cabin built for Boy Scouts, along a brook just the right size to jump over, and along other places where I have met a deer or a fox or even other people.
King Uzziah’s son Jotham, who is usually written off by academics as not actually having had his own independent reign, is, according to the King’s Calendar, the Jehoahaz recorded in Ancient Assyrian Records as having paid tribute to Tiglath-Pileser III of Assyria. Modern scholars have assumed that Jehoahaz must have been the full name of King Ahaz, whose proper name in all probability, was Ahaziah. Then of course there is the problem of King Hezekiah.
There are three important academically accepted ‘factual’ historical determinants that we must keep in mind if we are to understand the Biblical information for this time period. These events are pivotal to all chronologies, since historians insist that they and their given dates are unalterably fixed.
After I stared blankly for a few seconds she broke my stupor by explaining turkey could be in the form of pastrami, ham, bologna, or hot dogs. Hot dogs? She asked if I wanted just turkey. “Yes!” I answered hoping the questions would come to an end. Well, she continued, how would you like it cut and what calorie variety would you like? “Yes”, I answered again noticing that the girl behind the counter just sighed and cut the amount I ordered.
Decades ago, Congress began surrendering their responsibilities to federal agencies so they could manage the details necessary to implement legislative laws. Today, those ‘details’ have enabled federal agencies to dwarf Congress. Unelected bureaucrats flood our nation with 3,000 to 4,000 new laws every year.
More than 200 Arab terrorists have been eliminated during attacks on Jews since October 2015. Dozens of Israelis have been murdered by such terrorists in the same period. Israel has dismissed allegations of excessive force in most cases, saying its officers do only what is necessary to protect lives. (Has the ‘Ugly Nazi’ expressed the same concern about lives of ISIS and Al Qaida terrorists? Israel must stop co-operation with the UN’s ‘special rapporteur’ – no other country has one!)
The intention of this article is to offer a polemical rebuttal of academic methodology in reconstructing the history of Israel and concentrates specifically on the legal processes related to reliability of evidence. The Battle of Qarqar in 853 BC. is an important event in relation to the chronology of the Ancient Near East. The ‘King’s Calendar’ position however is that current academic attempt to link King Ahab of Israel to the Battle of Qarqar is based upon completely false foundations.
The Trump presidency is expected to reboot the US posture of deterrence by reversing the recent draconian cuts in the US defense budget and the size of the US armed forces – in the face of intensifying clear and present terrorism, conventional and nuclear threats to the US and its allies – and to replenish the rapidly depleted and aging US military stockpiles;
That in order to generate a calendar that reflects both the ‘True and Original’ Solar year history as well as the artificial history, the missing one and one quarter days per true solar year converted must be reinserted into the artificial calendar that is created in order to reflect the ‘Actual’ solar years elapsing during that history.
Left high in the Canadian Rockies by a man, who had a car accident on his way home and banged his head, a snowmobiler saw the two horses and word got around the small town that wasn’t far away. That began what became a long, difficult rescue by a large number of people. From the high mountains.
I got to pondering this great out-the-window dilemma. Stick to the crows a minute. It is fairly obvious that 30 crows would be way too much for this little woods. Imagine the noise they’d make. More important, would there be enough food for them all? How much food would 30 crows need? I don’t know. Probably more than is out there.
The first seven photographs are from two different articles about West Lake or Xihu in Hangzhou. The following two photographs are from Shaoxing which is just an hour by bus from West Lake, and the last two are from Ningbo a town I visited many years ago as part of a school outing but this weekend Nov 11-13, 2016 I am back there visiting with a foreign friend who is there on business.
My candidate lost. OK, as our next President stated, if he loses it was a colossal waste of time. I agree with him on this account because my wife and I have spent the last 18 months working for and hoping for the first woman to lead our nation. It didn’t happen. Now did the world come to an end?
The State Department issued a scathing condemnation of Israel again after it issued building permits for 181 new homes in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. Plans in Gilo were first approved in 2012. (There were no critics when Abbas praised a terrorist as a “heroic martyr” and openly calls for the murder of Jews.)
I don’t know that Trump can do a better job than any other – especially Clinton, but I really can’t imagine that he could do any worse – except perhaps by failing to line the pockets of elitists and multinational corporations.
A true story that grips you as it opens the man’s, the other people’s, and the dog’s lives for the reader to see. I’ve never known much about Japan, even though we drive a Toyota and probably always will because of their quality. After reading it, I’m still not sure if the story is of the dogs, the owner, the country, or its history. It includes all three.
The first four photographs were published in one article. The second four were published in another article. The last two photographs are teasers for Hangzhou. If you click onto any photo, you will be redirected to the story in which that photograph appears...My records show that this is the Music Room or Entertainment Room within the Chu tower complex. I was sitting on one of those seats when, in opening a bottle of coke, I showered not only myself and my Chinese friends, but a Chinese lady sitting in front of me!
Mosorete is not technically correct in reference to Texts prior to the 9th Century AD. Text of the Day is more appropriate. See Lipman. D.P. (2000) Gates to Jewish Heritage.) That history has been transmitted to us with precision, as is demonstrated by the Isaiah scrolls from Qumran. Although they come from a different period in time (a thousand years earlier than our oldest biblical texts), and are written in a different type of writing, they yet remain (in content transmission) almost identical. [Yadin. Y. (1957) The Message of the Scrolls. Weidenfeld & Nicholson. London. p.83]
The Appalachian Trail crosses the Carrabasset River along that road. There have been brave hikers that have nearly drowned wading across the river because somewhere north of that crossing someone allowed the river water to pick up volume and speed. (The Maine Appalachian Trail Club hires a canoeist to carry hikers across the river there so the hikers won’t drown.)
Using Solar Year Calculations to synchronise Biblical Data is insufficient to understand Biblical and Extra Biblical Chronology and Historical Narrative, and contradicts known history....The two great significances of the secular academic approach is that 701 BC which is supposed to be Hezekiah’s 14th year, is plainly not; and 740 BC becomes Ahaz’ 1st year which completely messes up all Biblical chronology in relation to Uzziah, Jotham, Menehem and Pekah. When working in Solar years counting down from the accepted date for the commencement of the reigns of Jehu (Israel) and Athaliah [Judah], that is, from 841 BC to 701 BC, the results are also alarming. The Significance of these figures, is that they throw all the Biblical data out the window and contradict known history. In order to get around this problem, historians have to reject what the Bible says.
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi vows that from now on his nation will vote against anti-Israel resolutions like the one passed by UNESCO, obliterating Judaism’s historic link with Jerusalem. Italy abstained in the vote, as did 25 other nations, while 24 member states voted in favour of the resolution. Only six countries had the courage to oppose the resolution advanced by the PA. “It is shocking and I have ordered that we stop taking this position (abstaining) even if it means breaking ranks from the position taken by the rest of Europe.
“As of May 31, 2011, Operation Baghdad Pups brought a total number of 340 animals — 280 dogs and 58 cars from Iraq, plus two dogs from Afghanistan — to the United States, determined that there will be no buddy left behind,” states the final paragraph of this moving book.
According to the experts, The Damascus Document speaks briefly of the origins of the sect, 390 years after the exile and after 20 years of ‘groping’ blindly for the way “God… raised for them a Teacher of Righteousness..” The KingsCalendar Mathematical projection for the chronology of the Damascus Document aligns with known historical possibilities and appears to refer to High Priest Onias III.
Then came the “Greatest Generation”. This is a term made popular by journalist Tom Brokaw to describe the generation who grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. This is the generation of my mother and father who were challenged against remarkable odds.
I recall sitting at the top of a small cliff in western Maine, watching a half-dozen deer wander along in the woods below. It would be fun to shoot one, I thought, but it was even more fun just watching them wander past. Besides, it wasn’t hunting season, and I didn’t have my gun with me.
If a private business engaged in similar deceptive practices as our government, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau would probably fine them out of business. Unfortunately, consumers have little protection against federal dishonesty. With a dysfunctional Congress and a disturbingly powerful executive, it is up to informed citizens working with local public officials to protect our own interests.
In defiance of the global financial downtrend – but as a derivative of Israel’s cutting-edge technologies – Israeli hightech companies raised $1.19BN during Q3 2016, the second highest quarterly amount in ten years. During the first nine months of 2016, Israeli hightech companies raised $4BN, 27% above the $3.15BN raised during the first nine months of 2015.
The legacy of Moses, the definitive law-giver, has been such an archetype, an integral part of US cultural, ethical, legal and political history, highlighting Judeo-Christian ethical principles that shaped the USA and forged the foundation of its special ties with the Jewish State.
Israel is preparing for a series of large-scale projects with Egypt after many years of absence of economic cooperation between the two countries. There is an urgent need for improved infrastructure in Egypt, given the severe economic crisis that threatens the political stability of the country.
Both stories are well-written and hold your attention. But its been a week since I finished this book of two tales, I don’t really recall either story. Other than they are both dramatic. If you’re a reader of paperback westerns, grab this book and add it to your collection.
We are WAY beyond voting for a person for President based on their character. None of the candidates have shining character – especially Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton. But when November 8 gets here – one of them is going to be elected President.
The original article was divided into two sections with the first section concerned with the reigns of Nabopolassar and Nebuchadrezzar Kings of Babylon and with Josiah and Jehoiakim Kings of Judah. Section One contains Historical Dates that are specifically pertinent to the reigns of Josiah King of Judah, Jehoiakim King of Judah, and Nebuchadrezzar King of Babylon.
On the day I retired I received a phone call congratulating me because I had just won a spot on a cruise ship that is scheduled to go around the world. All I had to do was give them every number that had anything to do with my entire life and I was destined to be a world traveler. I asked them why they thought anyone who earned retirement also became stupid? They didn’t answer and I assume went to the next retiree.
I recall climbing Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park, after plenty of leaves had fallen. Enough that once again I slipped. But got up again unhurt. The nice part about fall walking in yonder woods is how the leaves rustle as you walk through them. I’ll always appreciate that fall woods walking sound.
In 2013, Sweden admitted that the flu vaccine caused narcolepsy, and they offered an apology to the victims. TV2 Denmark went further and did something no mainstream media network in the United States will dare to do, they investigated the controversial HPV vaccine that many have claimed ruined the lives of many young women.
But scratch a bit below the surface of these and other stern pronouncements that climate change and hurricane activity are linked, and you find words like “probably” and “likely.” When you look at the data, hurricane activity doesn’t match up with either CO2 levels or world temperatures. So even “probably” and “likely” aren’t relevant.
By 2016, America was a class-battling socialist nation - but - “The key to destroying socialism is not to fight it. It is to starve it.” Following the 1789 signing of our Constitution, our Founders told us exactly what Americans must do to assure politicians at every level, even the U.S. President, keep our nation prosperous and free. We ignored their directions.
There are 15,000,000 Jews worldwide, 450,000,000 Arabs, and 1.6 billion Muslims. Who is exactly the minority? Arabs are indigenous to the Arabian Peninsula (and not to the area of “Palestine,” like the Jews.) Before 1967, Arabs who lived in “the West Bank” were citizens of Jordan.
I am a Remote Separation Dowser. “What is a Dowser?” I am often asked. Water Divining seems to be the most commonly recognised answer, but it is far more than just water that can be found by this ancient skill. I believe most people have the ability and can be honed to an incredible level with practice.
While the proposed “New chronology” would negate the ‘King’s Calendar’ apologetics for the placement of the Exodus within a 15th Century BCE – 18th Dynasty scenario, the significance for the ‘King’s Calendar’ of the New Chronology is that in relation to Merneptah’s Stele, it may now be possible to provide an exact date for this Pharaoh Merenptah’s fifth year.
The image of religion has degraded into a means of power and control. In the past, when one lost an election he or she would concede with a promise to support the winning candidate. This is not the case today. Now we have a candidate that states the only reason for a loss would be that the process is “rigged”. This is a radicalization or our electoral system. Goebbels used the Jewish people while one of our candidates uses the Muslim religion and immigration.
It seems that the Marxists, in the pursuit of their superior ideology, not only oppress Jews, not only oppress Muslims and not only oppress women, but they welcome an immigrant influx of deeply religious Muslims. And yet, religion is anathema to Marxism. Whatever you may or may not believe, what is clear to any person with eyes to see and ears to hear, and to any person who has watched Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s video, the only way to effectively integrate Muslims into our Western non-Muslim societies, is to STOP aiding and abetting those who wish to destroy us, and START supporting those who seek to stop radical Islamic fundamentalism.
I found some of the stories in this book a bit long, but they were all attention-holders, and I’m glad I read ‘Ford County.’ His writing takes place in the South. He writes the flavor of the South. The stories are primarily small-town South. I found my copy in a friends bookshelf, and he has assured me I can keep it. Which I will.
I’ve been in Maine ever since with less than three weeks out of Maine in all these years since 1965. I have lived in Bethel, Paris, Swanville, Danforth, and Bridgton. These homes followed my careers as a minister, a teacher, a newspaper reporter, and now retirement here in Searsport.
Sukkot has played a key role in the reconstruction of the Jewish Homeland and the ingathering of Jews – and their transition – to the Land of Israel. For instance, the town of Sukkot was the first stop of Jacob the Patriarch upon returning, to the Land of Israel, from a 20-year-long work for Laban (Genesis 33:17).
Famine and violence in Turkey from the late 19th century and well into the 1920s created many refugees. They pressed the resources of cities; so did numerous migrants fleeing religious persecution. They needed shelter, food, clothing and work. Historically, international religious organizations such as Christian missions and churches and private businesses have filled some of these needs.
Substituting the clutter in your mind with higher better things will provide you with an opportunity to receive your own messages. I remember learning Yoga and Pranayama, where you focus on the breath — which helps still your mind to achieve that peaceful one pointedness of being. This is always good and helps, but I needed more than that.
Turkey is building a huge, concrete, razor-wire topped security wall along its 900-kilometer border with Syria. All five construction sites include minefields, making the work particularly difficult and meticulous. Where is the outrage? .. It might surprise some Jews, considering the disproportional anti-Israel coverage in the media and from international pressure on the Israeli government, that there are many non-Jews who strongly support the State of Israel.
Four books in this week's book basket and one of the authors has already published an article in the Writers Journal KingsCalendar. This week's selection includes "Dancing at Angel Abbey" By Lauren M. Bloom; "Olivia’s Story: Protector of the Realm" By David L. Dahl; "Blood Virus" By L.A. Hollis; and "Dowsing and Ley Lines" By Gerald Chatfield
I won’t say these Little River Trail volunteers didn’t know what they were doing. I’d rather say they haven’t yet finished their volunteer task, to build a trail from which those aren’t-as-skillful-as-us guys or gals can’t slip down a steep bank into a brook.
The Gift of the Deer is primarily, as the title suggests, about several deer that appeared near Helen Hoover (the author) and Adrian Hoover’s (the artist) camp in northern Minnesota. It’s a realistic tale, because it is true.
Driving down my road was like driving through an intergalactic battle scene from an old “Star Wars” movie. My truck was attacked by hundreds of red, yellow, and brown leaf like star fighters that swarmed on my windshield hoping to block my vision and thus have me drive into the ditch or one of my neighbor’s mailboxes. I chose the latter.
The first human being, Adam, was created on the first day of Tishrei. Human-beings are accorded an opportunity to recreate themselves spiritually, each year, on Yom Kippur, the tenth day of Tishrei – an Acadian word for forgiveness and Genesis. Yom Kippur culminates ten days of genuine, heart-driven atonement/repentance, which begin on Rosh Hashanah.
Four of America’s top military officers testified on Sept. 15 before the Senate Armed Services Committee on the long-term budget challenges they’re facing. All four branches of our military are grappling with budgets cuts — cuts that add up to fewer troops, aging equipment, and degraded levels of readiness. Building and maintaining a world-class military isn’t smart only when you use it for combat. Simply having such a military can help you avoid a fight in the first place.
The word “angel” derives from the Greek word “angelos,” which simply means “messenger.” In other words, putting aside the hand props and feathers, an angel is a messenger from the Divine, bringing hope and help when we need it most. While some messages may come more easily from one angel than another – Archangel Michael’s assurance that Heaven protects us is so clearly his – it’s hard to believe that any angel could possibly be limited by human ideas of what his or her message should be
In this week's book basket there are only four books listed with their PR material, cover photograph, author biography and purchase links. Those books are: "Faith, Hope, and Love" by Sarojini and Shyam Kanagala; "The night that changed our lives" by Kelly Garner; "Amadons Outside" By Alexander Galati and "Boston Darkens" By Michael Kravitz
“The Jews are the most wicked among Allah’s creatures. They are the worst villains who have ever walked the planet. We’re living in a time when the war against the Jews is near, and I say clearly to the Jews: It’s time to slaughter you. It’s time to fight you. It’s time to kill you. God willing, we are ready. We and the loyal Muslims, along with the armies of the Muslim Caliphate, who will come to liberate this land from your filth. We are anticipating the day – the moment – of your slaughter.”
As an author, he brings his own experience into the tale. According to the book jacket, “In thirty-seven years with CBS news, Charles Kuralt won a host of honors, including thirteen Emmys and three Peabody Awards, for his work both ‘on the road’ and on Sunday morning.” Two of his other books were A Life on the Road and On the Road with Charles Kuralt.
Staying connected to books and literature is as important as keeping up with exercise and fitness. It’s a skill that individuals must sustain to improve their ability to write and read. After all, it was writing and reading that recorded our history and it’s the reason why we can connect with other generations’ past, present and future.
Many church groups and private citizens with the coordination of the fire department delivered food and clothing to many in need. There were many stories of heroism, especially along the seashore. Houses were swept out to sea. In Scituate Ma., hundreds of homes were demolished or floated out to sea. Neighbors took in strangers. Others offered clothing and food to those who lost everything.
The dock seems to attract a fair number of people, some of whom are actually working there as fisherman or boat captains — mighty few fisherman or boat captains for that matter. A lot of the dock visitors are just that, visitors, like me, who enjoy sitting on a picnic table and watching or staring at the ocean from their vehicles. I watch the few boats that are left this time of year resting in the harbor.
It seems easy to tell who is a Republican and who is a Democratic by listening to them. You can also tell the difference by the way they dress and their mannerisms. For example, Richard Nixon was a Republican and wore shorts and wing tip shoes when he went for a stroll on the beach, whereas Bill Clinton is a Democrat and couldn’t keep his pants on in the Oval Office.
Once we moved to the U.S. everything changed. We realized that our degrees and expertise were of no value and we felt completely incapacitated. We had to start everything from scratch, including college. Nature and the universe teach us great compassion. No one is exempted or excluded from these experiences. Sometimes it takes several different events to catch our attention.
An awakening took place in my life. I will not allow this opportunity of a second chance at life to slip away. There is a saying called a new lease on life for a reason. I believe the events that transpired that night was God’s wake-up call and it was time for me to answer.
I decided to take the plunge and extracted the first video from its case. I shoved it into my VHS player and sat back prepared to be bored. From the opening credits I was captivated. I love historical romance, you see, and this is a period piece set in roughly the year 1811/1812. I vaguely recall reading Sense and Sensibility when I was in college but this one had escaped my notice.
The first human-being, Adam, was created on Rosh Hashanah, the sixth day of Creation, the first day of the Jewish month of Tishrei; The opening of Noah’s Ark following the flood; The almost-sacrifice of Isaac (thou shall not sacrifice human beings!) and the Covenant of the Jewish People with God
We see drug usage among this key group rise to almost 40 percent in 1979, then drop to about 15 percent in 1992. Then it climbs steadily until it’s about 25 percent in 1997. Since then it’s dipped a bit, then gone back up, until leveling off at around 24 percent. So the real question is, what happened in the 1980s, when drug usage among 12th graders was more than cut in half?
And what about the joke called the UN Human Rights Council, which each year condemns Israel more than all the countries of the world combined. As women are being systematically raped, murdered, sold into slavery across the world, which is the only country that the UN's Commission on Women chose to condemn this year? Yep, you guessed it – Israel. Israel. Israel where women fly fighter jets, lead major corporations, head universities, preside – twice – over the Supreme Court, and have served as Speaker of the Knesset and Prime Minister.
Another congressional authority is the power of the purse. Throughout Obama’s two terms, Congress repeatedly used this power to implement foreign policies he opposed in relation to both Iran and Israel. Over Obama’s objection, Congress repeatedly passed and upheld sanctions laws against Iran for its illicit nuclear program and its support for terrorism. As for Israel, Obama routinely sought to slash US funding for Israel’s missile defense programs. Congress in turn routinely over road him and expanded US funding for Iron Dome and David’s Sling.
A Korean War combat veteran called me at home after his story has been written and said, “When reading my own story, those days in Korea rushed back like it was yesterday.” I listened as he wrestled with his emotions. Months later, he told me how much he appreciated his story being recorded for future generations, especially his grandchildren.
Last year, government spent $221 billion on cash, food and housing benefits for low-income families with children. But when measuring poverty, Census ignored more than 90 percent of these benefits. Adding in these benefits cuts the poverty rate for children by half or more.
I have personally lived as a “split-rail” Christian for most of my adult life. I was open about my faith when asked and “tried” to live according to God’s word each day. But in reality, I had separated God from my life. I went about my day-to-day business using God when I needed Him and leaving Him out when not convenient. This dichotomy of existence caused internal issues within me that rose to the surface as both the inability to control my temper, frustration and bitterness.
Moreover, the Ayatollahs consider the agreement a reaffirmation of Western vacillation and retreat, thus intensifying their rogue conduct, as documented by their domestic, regional and global track record and school textbooks. The latter are the most authentic reflection of the strategy, tactics, character, worldview and general direction of rogue regimes, such as the Ayatollahs, effectively producing cadres of “martyrs” (terrorists and suicide bombers).
With all of the unbelievable things going on in America in this period leading up to the next Presidential election, I thought it might be time to revisit my original article. What prompted this revisit was two particular articles here at iPatiot which I heartily recommend that you read. The first is Trump says Bombings Islamic Terror, Hillary says they’re Not by Dustin Koellhoffer and the second is Chaplains Ordered to Not Talk to Homeless Vets! by Rev. Austin Miles.
Most American Jews make their home on the political Left, and together with black Americans they comprise the most loyal Democratic voting bloc. American Jews have clung to the Democratic Party despite the fact that over the past decade and a half, their position in the party has become increasingly precarious.
The Shamrak Report is an independent weekly editorial letter published since 2001. The aim is to promote the Jewish point of view on the Arab-Israel conflict; motivate Jewish people and our true friends to uphold the ideals and aspirations of traditional Zionism. The editorial is not sponsored by or affiliated with any government, political party or organization.
Published and copyrighted in 1993 by several Reader’s Digest Associations, it was created and produced by St. Remy Multimedia, Inc. I’ve spent hours first looking through it and then reading in detail key parts of the book, and I feel like I’ve just begun. It begins with Old St. Augustine, which it states is Florida’s oldest city that “was built to guard Spain’s treasure route in the days of galleons and buccaneers.”
I’ve never seen a bear when I was not in the car. They scared me even with the car around me. When I was driving a tourist bus in Acadia, tourists would ask me about bears as they looked out the window. I most often said that yes, there were bears in the woods, but they were hiding behind a tree or boulder as the tourist walked by.
That’s the date our Constitution was signed in 1787. Considering how profoundly it altered our nation and shaped our destiny, we should be marking Constitution Day with as much pomp and circumstance as we do Independence Day. The Declaration, after all, gave birth to our nation, but the Constitution raised it and gave it its unique and immutable character.
As a nation we should not want to be entertained by our government leaders. We want to be governed. The one reality that bothers me the most is the question of what Donald Trump is really hiding? This question could be easily answered by having Donald Trump do something every Presidential Candidate has done for decades. He could release his tax returns.
It seems to me that to be a progressive liberal or just a plain old sociopathic PC ideologue equates with classifying heterosexuals in general and white people in particular as second class citizens responsible for all the ills of the world, and while the white females in the two groups just mentioned might proclaim their might and right, they don’t seem to care much that their counterparts in Muslim countries are and remain second class citizens. They seem to be too involved in vilifying Israel, fighting the Muslim cause and preparing for the day when they too can become second class citizens. They are possibly the most Useful Idiots supporting Islam.
The Republican candidate for presidency of the United States has established a campaign headquarters in Samaria. He supports the building of communities, and his party has removed the issue of a Palestinian state from the platform. There is no need to expand on Donald Trump’s stance on Islam and terror, which he makes very clear.
The One Child Policy has finally affected the number of students entering higher education in China and as a result the Entrance Examination Score required in third tier colleges is lower than in previous years and students now studying English are doing so with less ability than earlier students. They often have great trouble writing reasonably decent presentations and speeches.
Once the order of the points is determined, the writer must then begin the task of putting all those points into sentences which will form separate paragraphs for each section and using “transitions” to link the various paragraphs.
The Main purpose on this page was to impress on the novice writer, in particular those with English as a second language, the need to PLAN the writing; the need to structure it and the need to put everything into some form of logic order so that as you speak the audience can easily understand and follow your train of thought.
Writing involves more than just words. In this section we are going to look at paragraphs and their topic sentences and transitions. Generally speaking a paragraph contains a ‘theme’ that may stand alone as one of several different themes in the writing or which in combination with several other paragraphs forms a ‘topic’ within the writing.
“On June 5, 2002, fourteen-year-old Elizabeth Smart, the daughter of a close-knit Mormon family, was taken from her home in the middle of the night….,” from the book jacket. Her kidnapper chained her, dressed her in disguise, raped her repeatedly, and told her she and her family would be killed if she tried to escape.
To sidetrack Americans from the government’s failures and gather votes, our government pits special interest groups against one another and fabricates causes to which they rally. By exploiting society’s weaknesses, politicians create endless clashes, define special interest groups, and then passionately defend them to harvest votes for the next election cycle. As the conflicts grow, people turn to the same government that exacerbated the problems to provide their solutions. It is ironic that the very politicians that caused the 2008 financial meltdown have their names on the Dodd-Frank law that will supposedly prevent its recurrence.
During the summer months we were proud of how strong our plants looked. We waited patiently for their fruit to ripen so we could fill our family’s tables with delicious vegetables and sweet scented flowers. Like everything in everyone’s life all things change and nothing stays the same. In other words, everything is mortal.
In this week's basket we have only four book releases listed and they are: "Veterans’ Reflections: History Preserved" by William R. Graser; "How to Get Rid of Socialism" by Dr. Patrick R. Colabella; "The Bazatov Conspiracy" by Geoffrey A. Gilbert and "What Remains" By Tracey Lee
Summer has basically gone and they have all gone home. “They” are those relatives and friends who came to Maine to see how the poor relatives are doing. Or just tourists from wherever home was, the suburbs of Boston, or of New York City, or of Philadelphia. The only question I have is why they want to go home to those suburbs. I realize that Maine is my home. And I am probably seen by those traveling suburbanites as one of those funny strangers, who live in Maine.
When you slip on your jogging shoes, you don’t coddle your body. You push it. It will tell you it’s tired, that the exercise is hard, that it wants to quit. It wants a “safe space,” but you don’t give it one, and why? Because you know it won’t get stronger unless you challenge it. That’s exactly what a college education should do for your mind. Yet a lot of people expect a college professor to go easy on them. They demand “trigger warnings” before they encounter the horror of a different point of view. It’s a sign of how coddled they’ve been since birth.
I think the story may have been better as simply a true story, concentrating on Glass, instead of Coleman’s delving into its background. It was hard to follow until I realized it was an essay and not a story. I’m still guessing the purpose of the essay unless it was to inform we “soft” Americans how things were and how that related to the rest of the country and its history. “Of his ‘own free will,’ Glass ‘severed all connections with the civilized world’ ‘to seek out the hardships and dangers of the wilderness,’ writes the author. I wonder about that assessment and wonder if Glass wasn’t simply doing a hard job that took place in the outdoors of the West.
One would like to think that reforming Islam is possible but that attempt itself has gotten many Muslims killed throughout history. Any true Muslim reformer worth his salt will be anti-Jihad anyway – but not now! Unfortunately, most Muslim governments, organizations and communities silently support the violent invasion of Jihadism in the West!
One of the thoughts I disliked about any weekend was the thought that right after that weekend I would be back at work. Sometimes that mean sitting in a teachers’ lounge with a bunch of quiet fellow teachers — quiet because their fun for that weekend was now behind them. Quiet because not far down the hall they’d soon have to face a bunch of rowdy students — not students because they liked to study but students because they didn’t like school and were just waiting to give their teacher a hard time.
The 2010 Census showed the horrible truth. The plan made it harder for the poor to survive in the city and they left in droves. “Oh my God,” Portland City Commissioner Gretchen Kafoury said when shown the figures. “We thought we were doing a good thing.” Unfortunately, with these new government programs there is no ‘delete’ button to hit once federal grant money is spent, no “undo’ button to reverse the damage to poor families, and no “reset” to win back your community’s lost authority, voter’s choices or property rights.
I heard one of my students exclaim, “Independence Day”. He had just spoken what they must have all been thinking. This couldn’t be real. It was never supposed to be real. We were promised that it would never be real. I just couldn’t express what I was feeling in words. I still can’t even after fifteen years has passed.
Avoid toxic coworkers: Try to ignore negativity and gossip in your workplace. Take breaks: A walk around the block or a few minutes of deep breathing can help clear your head. Set boundaries: Try not to bring work home with you. Don’t check your work e-mail or voicemail after hours. Be realistic: Don’t overcommit yourself or offer to take on projects if you don’t realistically have enough time. Communicate: Speak up calmly and diplomatically if you have too much to handle. Your supervisor may not realize that you’re overextended.
On the more serious side, Chapter Seven wonderfully covers a series of topics reflecting both the good and bad history and politics of Australia and the Australian male attitudes. It is a great chapter for anyone wishing to stir up an argument or even a war, either between men and women, Europeans and Asians or between Australia and the United States and most particularly between the politically correct and those who don’t toe the line.
“The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people, and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it. Turkey threw out a million Greeks and Algeria a million Frenchman. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab.” – Eric Hoffer, LA Times, May 26, 1968.
Janet Ivanovich’s Stephanie Plum not only follows a familiar literary pattern of girl meets boy…in this case, girl knows boys — but, for me, this occurs in a city I know from once having driven through it. A not-very-important city in terms of America’s great cities, but a city for me that is real. In this not-very-important city, real drama occurs.
The $3.3BN raised by Israeli startups, since January, 2016, may break the $4.4BN annual record set during 2015. Intel invested in three Israeli startups, expanding its Israeli investment portfolio to 80 startups with $345MN invested since 1997.
The Belfast area seems to have a number of scenic trails and walks, and this spot was a high spot of all those places. No, there are no mountain views and for most of the two miles it is just a smooth walk through the woods. Occasionally a path from a nearby property, none of which are visible from the path, crosses the trail and meanders down to the Passagassawakeag River’s shore.
The Index is subtitled “The Social and Economic Trends that Shape America,” and it runs the cultural gamut. Topics range from marriage, drug use and welfare to crime, education and religious attendance. But rather than a deep dive into policy minutiae, the Index offers a data-driven snapshot of where things stand, good and bad.
I am sometimes criticised for covering only one subject in my (Shamrak Report) editorial letters, namely the Middle East conflict in general, and the right of the Jews to live in peace on their ancestral land in particular. My critics are quite right! I can’t help it. I am passionate about the rights of my people.
Based on controversial reports, often using HUD provided data; the agency concludes that people living in wealthier areas have a better chance for success. Therefore, they reason, to create upward mobility for voucher recipients, HUD must relocate them into affluent neighborhoods and schools.
In England, recently, a pro-Israeli prime minister was elected and in the United States, the Republican platform has been changed in a way favorable to Israel and our Land. The old Middle East is disintegrating. States are disappearing and all knowledgeable people who open their eyes see the changes clearly and on the other hand, also understand what the necessary change must entail.
Is this the best that the Democratic and Republican parties can offer? Do either of these two people demonstrate the greatness of America? Honestly! If you think that either of these is indicative of the best that America has to offer, then your country really can’t be that great or at the very least, most members of the two aforementioned parties are real idiots.
France has shut down at least 20 mosques and now has banned foreign funding of the Islamic houses of worship as well. (At the same time, the European Union criticized Israel for demolishing a European-Union-funded structure in Umm al-Khair in the Mount Hebron region. How ironic – No criticism of France!)
Her third book “Mainely Memories” however is a collection of stories about/relating to or experienced in her adult life, and some of those stories left an indelibile impression in my mind, and some of them, like the ‘Category 5’ story involving her granddaughter’s curiosity, has forever changed the vision in my mind of this wonderful author whom I have never personally met. You’ll have the read the book to understand that ‘Category 5’ reference.
The story tends to be slow, probably because that’s how literature was penned in those days of long ago. It tells of a young man who travels West from Vermont and eventually marries a woman he meets in the West. In between is a good bit of adventure, although, as I wrote above, it moves slowly. I prefer tales written closer to today, as, is probably the case with most readers, that contain language and briefer descriptions that I can follow.
Former President of the International Court of Justice, Judge Stephen M. Schwebel, stated: “[The 1967] Israeli conquest of territory was defensive rather than aggressive… [as] indicated by Egypt’s prior closure of the Straits of Tiran, blockade of the Israeli port of Eilat, and the amassing of [Egyptian] troops in Sinai, coupled with its ejection of the UN Emergency Force…[and] Jordan’s initiated hostilities against Israel….
Let me see, now. Many Augusts ago, when I with my parents was visiting Great Aunt Amy over in Belgrade, we were parked along some paved though rocky road and a truck driver stopped. He ambled over, wearing a flannel shirt and long pants of course, and asked if we were all right. I think we were, although I don’t remember exactly why we had stopped. It was nice of him to ask about our alrightness, but I remember as a kid and long before I started to write this column of question, wondering why he was wearing a long-sleeve flannel shirt and long pants.
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) under negotiation is being carried out mostly in secrecy between the EU and US. TTIP will reduce the regulatory barriers for doing business; erode food safety laws, environmental legislation, banking regulations and the sovereign powers of individual nations. Europe’s public service organs in health care, education, infrastructure, water and electrical services will be opened up to US companies and this essentially will mean privatization.
Since April 2014, the beginning of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, nearly 9,500 people have been killed in the violence and over 22,100 injured. Each month civilian homes have been destroyed or looted, and several dozen are killed or injured. This is not reported, no international ‘outcry’, and nothing is done about it and nobody cares, because it is not Israel!
Today, the U.S. spends 16 times as much on welfare as we spent in the 1960s — about four times the amount needed to pull every poor family out of poverty — yet people are less capable than ever of supporting themselves. Total spending at all levels of government on the roughly 80 federal means-tested welfare programs, which provide cash, food, housing, medical care, and social services to poor and lower-income Americans, is over $1 trillion annually.
I knew I shouldn’t have been patting myself on the back for having been smart enough to make sure about my baggage. We arrived in Guangzhou on time, which meant that I had 2 hours and 25 minutes to collect my baggage and check in for the international flight. That is when Murphy struck again. It took forty minutes for our baggage to arrive at the carousel.
On August 15th 2016 R.P. BenDedek’s book “Finding Myself in China: A Politically Incorrect Story” became available for purchase via PDF Download from the Kingscalendar Website. The book has 230 pages and 133 active links to various photographic stories published at Kingscalendar. The book sells for US$8.99
I write to provoke a debate and create awareness – to prompt you to investigate further and do your own research instead of blindly believing what we are told. The level of incompetence in corporations has led to a globalist agenda where the small man is nothing but a tool to be controlled, manipulated and exploited. The decision rests heavily on us individuals to dare to make choices that promote our wellness, and survival.
I am not American so I do not know how Americans would respond to this book, but I loved it. This ‘self-published’ book is so well written and so ridiculously funny that I feel sure that it won’t take long for a traditional publisher to offer the author a publishing contract. With the Presidential election on its way in the USA, I think that this satirical story is something that all Americans should sit down and read, particularly those who do not usually vote or who have this time decided not to vote.
The book was copyrighted in 2010 by Miller and Ralph Gardiner Jr., the latter of whom I’ll bet did the actual writing. The only publisher mentioned John Wiley & Sons, Inc., Hoboken, NJ. I’m not sure that if I wanted a publisher for my self-writing about a Vermont farm I’d pick an outfit in New Jersey to publish it…unless their price was really low. New Jersey is not Vermont.
Now its hot. So hot I seldom go out walking in the daytime for fear of melting. Well, maybe not really melting, but its hard to tell the difference between melting and melting when you’re melting. Its been in the eighties each day, which is way too hot in Maine. The other day I was down at the town park, right on the ocean. It was hot walking across the mowed field to a bench. It was even hot sitting on a bench, about 30 feet from the bank that drops down to the beach.
The 9th Day of Av (the 11th Jewish month) is the most calamitous day in Jewish history, first mentioned in the book of Zechariah 7:3. It is a day of fasting (one of four fast days connected to the destruction of Jerusalem), commemorating dramatic national catastrophes, in an attempt to benefit from history by learning from – rather than repeating – critical moral and strategic missteps. Forgetfulness feeds oblivion; remembrance breeds deliverance.
There are seven books listed in this week's book basket and they are: "Political Straight Talk: A Prescription for Healing Our Broken System of Government" By H. John Lyke; "Portal to Erytheum" By Robert B. Goos; "Shades of Africa" By Toko Loshe; “Testosterone Resistance: Fighting for the Men’s Health Hormone” By Malcolm Carruthers, MD; "The Smallest Spark" By John Wright; "Tournament of Shadows" By Michael Hyman and Andrew Capon and "Traitors from Inside Out" By M.M. Justine
The death tax — the penalty families have to pay when a loved one dies and leaves them significant assets — is back in the news, thanks to the IRS. The agency recently proposed new rules that would extend the reach of the tax. Business owners are alarmed — as well they should be.
The beauty of exercising is that it increases blood flow, flexibility, endurance, and overall energy, so that we can take on those new challenges. I play volleyball 3 days a week, go to exercise classes, and work out with my fitness trainer at the local Community Center. She has significantly improved my balance, plus introduced me to the “ten minute routine for firing up your metabolism”. When you get up in the morning, drink a glass of water and then do 10 minutes of exercise. If you have a treadmill, walk two minutes, run two minutes, sprint one minute, and repeat.
My mind raced into wondering whom this man was. Did he once have a loving wife and family? Did he make the mistake of living a bit too long? Was he once a successful man who enjoyed his life and never imagined he would end up in a booth by himself at a McDonalds Restaurant. I wonder how many children he had and why the hell weren’t they taking care of him.
“The Munich Agreement did not prevent the Second World War and the Holocaust, precisely because their basic premise, that Nazi Germany could be a partner to some agreement, was incorrect and because the world’s leaders at the time ignored the blunt remarks of Hitler and other Nazi leaders.”
In a tense and entertaining story, ERASE exposes how such tactics are being used to destroy our nation from within. I have used one central villain to portray the evil force that threatens us. However, in reality he lives inside hundreds of such power mongers that now act as an unseen hand to pull the strings in the back rooms of local, state and federal centers of government.
There are six books listed in this week's book basket, and they are: "The Silent Thought: America in Crisis" By Charlie Wurz; “#Loneliness: The Virus of the Modern Age” By Tony Jeton Selimi; “The Adventures of Fred the Fly” By Joe Carr; “A Strange Boy” By John L. Jewell; “Keep Your Chin Up” By Linda Lendt and “What God Can Do With An Idiot” By Mark Dutton, D.Min.
Even liberal economists have noted that workers could be hurt if we mandate a $15-an-hour minimum. Harry Holzer, a chief economist in the Clinton administration, opposes it. According to Alan Krueger, the former chair of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, “a $15-per-hour national minimum wage would put us in uncharted waters, and risk undesirable and unintended consequences.”
The first sentence on the front flap, “To keep us all together through the massive crests of waves, our dwindling little group formed a circle and fastened our life jackets to one another,” again doesn’t tell the reader right up front that its an evangelical tale. Too many evangelicals do this, hiding who they are until they can tell you in the text. I’m not downplaying what happened to Harrell and his fellow service men. But, as I usually am, I’m a bit ashamed that they felt they had to hide the spiritual part of the tale…although it was wearingly repeated in the text.
Donald Trump is an oligarch who is also a narcissist. Actually he is running a campaign like Goering ran for Hitler in the early 1930’s. In other words, he is scaring the hell out of me. He definitely has Mafia ties during his building boom ties in New York City. To say he is corrupt would be an understatement. He refuses to give his tax returns by stating he is under an audit. In reality this is no excuse because many people like Bloomberg (multi-billionaire) and Warren Buffet has stated this and will gleefully compare their tax returns that are also under audit with Donald Trumps.
The Little River Hiking Trail runs from the parking lot of the Belfast Water District on Route 1 to its other end hear the beginning of Route 52. On our first day of discovery, we accidentally walked about a mile and a half of it. It is level, following the Little River and the Belfast Reservoir. It is pleasantly easy, primarily level, and follows the bank of the river and reservoir beyond which it continues through the woods. Another day, we accidentally followed another half-mile of it.
“Part Wild: One Woman’s Journey with a Creature Caught Between the Worlds of Wolves and Dogs” which was copyrighted in 2011 by the author Ceiridwen Terrill, is a non-fiction story of her life with a pet that was a “wolfdog” and it gives the sense of a true story all the way through. But Terrill included too many details that dragged the tale down a bit.
I feel sorry for all those tourists, who are frantically trying to get to Bar Harbor. I know Acadia National Park is there too and celebrating its hundredth year. But those tourists really just want to spend their money in expensive restaurants and stay in motels or campgrounds. (Their parents were doing that years ago, when we used to sit in a parking lot along Route 1 and watch them drive past.)
The USA, China, Russia and India are, actively, soliciting high-tech cooperation with Israel. India and Israel negotiate a free trade zone, which would increase their current $5bn trade balance. Israel is second only to Russia in the exportation of military systems to India (Jerusalem Post, July 24, 2016).
What I find abhorrent is the idea of using the power of government to compel groups who express a politically incorrect point of view to open their files for investigation.... Sorry, Sen. Whitehouse. The only fraud being perpetrated here is by those who would deny basic First Amendment rights to their fellow Americans. Let’s hope those who recognize your bullying tactics keep turning up the heat.- U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she has discussed internally the possibility of pursuing civil actions against “climate change deniers.” Worse, she said she has “referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action.”
“But why does Israel steal water from the Palestinians?” I answered her question with a question: “Do you know factually that Israel ‘steals’ water from the Palestinians?” “Well,” she said, “this is what they told us.” “They” in this case could have been a speaker from Palestinian Authority-based institutions such as Bethlehem Bible College, the east Jerusalem YMCA, the Siraj Center for Holy Land Studies in Beit Sahour, or the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center; or perhaps a foreign-based organization such as Interfaith Peace Builders (American), Christian Peacemaker Teams (American), World Vision (British); or even a representative of any of a number of politically Left Israeli (Jewish) NGOs that draw from the Palestinian narrative, such as B’Tselem, Peace Now or Rabbis for Human Rights. “They” told us, so it must be true.
An Israeli Muslim Arab, was attacked by other Arabs last week for posting a profile picture with Israel’s flag on Facebook. Haled Abu Mokh was a guest on Israel’s Channel 20 TV and told the host that he is used to these reactions: “These responses, it’s normal… There was no Palestinian flag where I was born. The Star of David, that’s me, that’s how my mother raised me.” - It is rare for a refugee status to extend beyond the lifetime of the original refugee, because normally it is expected that their offspring will have settled someplace else. Not so regarding Palestinian refugees, according to UNRWA’s definition of the term!
In 1976, while Americans were distracted watching a manly Bruce Jenner ace the Olympic decathlon; while two Steves formed a company called Apple, and millions mimicked “meow, meow, meow, meow” to the Meow Mix commercial, two United States delegates signed an international agreement in Vancouver, Canada that accelerated the demise of our Founders’ protections. The document concluded that land “contributes to social injustice,” and “cannot be controlled by individuals.” With those signatures, our government’s official position on private property ownership reversed. The U.S. government now agreed that “public control of land use is…indispensable.”
The media is saying that Donald Trump has transformed the Republican Party into the party of the working middle class. There was a time, a different era, in the Republican Party however, when a GOP leader who grew up in the basement of a three room house during the “Great Depression” in Russell, Kansas, fought for working-class families. Donald Trump has stood up to the elites and pledged to be the voice of the “forgotten Americans.” Throughout his career, Bob Dole, the Republican leader from a small town where his dad ran a stand that sold eggs and cream and his mom sold Singer sewing machines, always stood up to the elites and fought for the “Silent Majority.”
The authors of all but the first book listed in today's Book Basket published articles in the Writer's Journal KingsCalendar this month. The four books in today's basket are: “Surface Paradise” By Allan Green; “Satan’s Stronghold” by Robert Gallant; “Arrivals and Departures from Normal” by Lana Jean Rose and “A Window to the Soul” by William Dickie.
I was once walking in a local park with my family, when a kookaburra, an ancient bird of Australia, swooped down and stomped on a snake that was very close to me. At the moment I looked down, the bird looked straight into my eyes as if to say, watch where you are going. Needless to say I was totally unaware of the snake as he was exceptionally camouflaged to blend with his surroundings. Snakes in Australia are some of the most poisonous on the planet, I learned later. Now each time I see a kookaburra, I smile and silently give thanks.
This book, “The Generous Years: Remembrances of a Frontier Boyhood” by Chet Huntley, copyrighted in 1968 by Huntley and discarded 14 years ago by our local library, Searsport’s Carver Memorial Library, did not seem like an exciting or even interesting read. Until I began to read it.
My love affair with land began when I was about ten. I say “about” because I can’t recall for sure, as I was only about ten. We came to Maine by Pullman train, got off in Augusta (try that nowadays), and ended on my Great Amy’s farms out in Belgrade. Where I fell in love with the quiet, the fields, the woods, the old barn, and a distant view of hills and valleys off to the northeast.
Muslims who invaded the area in the 7th century from the desert lands to the east devastated much of the agricultural economy that has existed up until that point. From then until the return of the Jews in the late 19th century, the region was largely a wasteland, whose meager population struggled to survive.
Notice that I did not say that the 'immigrants' demand that we change. I didn't say that because for the most part it just isn't true! It has been the godless totalitarian PC sociopaths (activists) who have demanded that we change, and they started first with the claim that nativity scenes in shop windows offended non-Christians. For those who don't know, Evangelical Christians traditionally don't believe in icons and depictions of God or Jesus because it is akin to idolatry. If there were any who might have been offended, it was surely the fundamentalist Christians. Certainly the Buddhists and Hindus aren't offended by nativity scenes, and if you think about it, have you ever heard a Muslim, a Jew or an Evangelical Christian complain about Nativity Scenes?
I lived in a world where I was a rich and famous woman in a house about which people said, “There’s a very famous woman who lives in that old house but no one ever sees her. They say she owns a old Rolls Royce and has a driver who takes her out every Friday. The windows of the car are dark so no one ever sees her or knows where she goes. No one really knows anything about her except that she’s supposed to be beautiful, wealthy and a successful writer.”
I joined with seven other campus leaders in petitioning the University President to admit the man to the graduate school. That was headline news in the campus newspaper and I received comments ranging from “Good for you. Gutsy move.” to “I’ve given the KKK your dormitory room number”.
Social Justice is the name of the game under AFFH. That means the rule of law is dismissed in favor of “fairness.” Social Justice is enforced on us using pure emotion, basically operating on the level of a twelve year old girl in a pet shop who doesn’t like seeing the puppies with their sad eyes looking out from a cage. “Let the poor little doggies out,” she cries. Social Justice is purely based on redistribution of wealth. Your wealth. That’s money you worked for, saved, invested, and protected for YOUR needs; YOUR dreams; YOUR future.
Indian forces opened fire on thousands of protesters, killing at least eight civilians and wounding scores of others during a mass funeral for a slain rebel fighter. (Why no international condemnation? Because it is not in Israel – Have you got it?) -- The women were sent to their certain death as an act of redemption for their misconduct, and also as a means for their families to earn a monthly stipend from the Palestinian Authority. (They are not entitled to get 72 male virgins!)
Despite Western and Israeli media preoccupation with the Palestinian issue – during the July 10, 2016 meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry – the Israel-Egypt agenda dramatically transcends the Palestinian issue, which is not the crux of the Arab-Israeli conflict, not a crown-jewel of Arab policy-making and not a core cause of the 1,400-year-old turbulence, violent intolerance, instability, unpredictability, subversion and terrorism in the Middle East.
“My household was strong, stable and conservative,” he said in a 1987 speech. “God was central. School discipline, hard work, and knowing right from wrong were of the highest priority. These were not issues to be debated by keen intellectuals, bellowed about by rousing orators, or dissected by pollsters and researchers. They were a way of life.”
Unfortunately in Europe and other western countries, the liberals and other bleeding hearts have done everything in their power to enable the Islamization of the west, primarily because they hate their Judeo-Christian historical roots....Society is then divided between those who effectively become enablers of Islam in the West and those who wish to go to war with Islam and every Muslim they encounter. We could argue the merits of both sides of this divide, but I believe that without the input of the former, the input of the latter would be missing.
Written by Edwin Way Teale and published apparently in 1974 by Vail-Ballou Press in Binghamton, NY, this is my kind of book. One of the happiest memories I have as a kid visiting my great aunt’s Belgrade, ME farm was of my father and I walking down an old woods road. That was it; we weren’t hunting, and nothing was hunting us. We were just walking down an old woods road.
This week's book basket contains information on four books, one of which I am currently reviewing. I remind readers to support author's by buying books from the author's publisher's website rather than just donate 60% of author royalties to big businesses who sell those books for the same price. In this week's basket we have publicity material for “The Pfurst Family Diaries” By Richard Soares; “The Other Side of the Song” By Meg Duly; "A Daughter of the Enemy of the People" by Valery Dunaevsky and “Oracles of an Ethiopian Coffeehouse” by Paul Sugg.
My wife and I took our grandchildren to a mall the other day in Saugus, Massachusetts and I am saddened to report we both felt uncomfortable because we were the minority. What made this point even more depressing was the Afro-Americans and the Latinos that surrounded us also gave the appearance of being uncomfortable. I wonder if this feeling is coming from me because of a bias I tried my entire life to rid myself of. I am thrilled to state my grandchildren felt none of this paranoia. They talked and laughed with everyone. After awhile my beautiful cherubs showed me a world we all yearn for.
In five recent cases, the State Department failed to mention that terror attacks in Israel were perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists. In contrast, the announcements of condemnation of terror attacks in other countries often identify the perpetrators’ affiliations – such as on April 19, Jan. 11 and Jan. 7 of this year. In addition, the State Department often identifies the victims of terror attacks and expresses support and solidarity with the country being targeted. This is consistently not the case, however, regarding Palestinian terror attacks in Israel.
We must realize that nothing is more intrinsically un-American than a system in which bureaucrats and school administrators, not parents, make decisions about a child’s education; one in which government handouts create generational dependencies; or one in which retirement comes not on our own terms, but rather those dictated by politicians thousands of miles away.
I’ve been atop most of Maine’s highest mountains that host the AT as well as Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Of the mountains I know, I found very few discrepancies in Miller’s telling. I found myself comparing my times with Miller’s description. Miller writes on page 207, “I start my hike (after camping most of the way along the AT from Georgia) in the morning at the same time as Ken and Marcia and we make the short but steep ascent up Old Speck together.
I recall, when I was a school teacher, having a discussion or debate with a science teacher down the hall, who believed in total evolution. I didn’t. I believed that what I had seen in yonder woods was born and raised by critters of the same variety at itself. At one point in our debate, the other teacher said, “I’ve never heard anyone make that statement before.”
The assumption that US-Israel relations are shaped from the top down, and determined by US presidents and “elites,” constitutes a slap in the face of the US democracy, which highlights the American constituent as its chief axis, emitting the thundering battle cry, which no elected official can afford to ignore: “we shall remember in November!”
I recommend it half-heartedly as a fairly good although confusing-in-places mystery. If you want to read a fairly-good-although-confusing-in-places mystery that takes place largely on an island off the Maine coast, buy it or check your library. (I recognized the island by its description, which is a lot like the real island Dolores and I visited last summer via a ferry boat. The boat ride was great. The day was hot, so we didn't fully explore the island. (Maybe you'll get there on a cooler day. Our boat ride started at Port Clyde, which is down the road a piece.)
Another 4th of July weekend has arrived and is now a thing of our past. Hannaford’s has probably sold out of Ben Gay, band-aids, Neosporin, and Advil. The Tuesday after the holiday saw little activity by those who are over 65. They are seen sitting in their beach chairs wearing white socks to hide the blisters caused by wearing sandals that were made to be worn only by people who had younger skin on their feet.
Family of 17-year-old Mohammed Taraireh who murdered 13-year-old Hallel Yafa Ariel in her bed, praise his actions. Taraireh climbed over the security fence surrounding Kiryat Arba's Harsanina neighborhood, infiltrated one of the rooms and stabbed Hallel to death. After the attack, the 17-year-old terrorist's house was decorated with Fatah and PLO flags. (Hallel Yafa Ariel was a US citizen! Will Obama condemn this terror act?)
The following is a list of excerpts from 'Finding Myself in China: A Politically Incorrect Story.' There are a total of 18 excerpts published here at Kingscalendar. This book will become available very soon. If you like what you see and choose to purchase this book (which no publisher will touch) you will find in it 133 links to stories about China. As the book is only available via my website which is one of those held back by Google, the book will not receive much publicity and so I would hope that you will - should you like it - recommend it to others on your various social media sites.
After marriage and the birth of our children, I got back to my education, now in Social Work. I learned a lesson during years of working full time, raising children and night school. The way to achieve your goal is to constantly see yourself doing what you are preparing for. With my bachelors, I went to work for Child and Family Services. I walked in the door the first day and was handed 125 files. Wow, what an education that was.
We were both standing more or less beneath one log as it dangled from the “rig.” All of a sudden both of us lunged out of the way. The log had somehow escaped the “rig” and was falling — right toward us. I guess we both saw it slip loose, which is why we moved so fast. (Or we just decided to jump at the same time. Something for psychologists to ponder.)
Macdougall wrote in a casual manner, adding to the actual history a variety of stories, such as this on page 53, “…One passenger had just made his own dent in the frayed plush seat of a Somerset coach when the train came to a stop. After what seemed like a long delay, the conductor returned to the coach, a little out of breath to report that a cow had been on the tracks. The train started up, only to stop again.
According to Cisco’s Chairman, John Chambers: “Israel is the most innovative country, producing the best startups…. Cisco invested $150MN in 30 Israeli startups, $60MN in four Israeli venture capital funds and acquired 13 Israeli companies since I became Cisco’s CEO….”
Abbas knew that this classically anti-Semitic blood libel was as false as a similar one, spread last week, that claimed Israel forced Palestinians from a certain village to flee by drying up their water supply during Ramadan. In fact, a pipe had burst, and it was immediately repaired. But the “water apartheid” lie, first “reported” by Al Jazeera, and happily was picked up by The Independent, the International Business Times, Radio New Zealand and The Times of London…
As terrorism expert James Carafano recently testified to Congress, the frequency of plots has dramatically increased. There have been 22 successful or interrupted terrorist plots in the U.S. since 2015. Worse, the overwhelming number of these plots are emanating from the home front. Twenty-one out of 22 involved American nationals. All involved a homegrown element.
But now we live within sight of the Searsport, Maine dock. We can see it and the ocean out our study window. We can drive or walk down there and enjoy the quiet, beauty, and boats. It is peaceful when we drive or walk to the dock. We are peaceful too, because we live by the same ocean that still brings all those tourists to Maine.
In 1993, on the eve of signing the Oslo Accord, the Christian mayor of Bethlehem, Elias Freij, admonished Israel’s Prime Minister Rabin: “Transferring Bethlehem to the Palestinian Authority would relegate it to a town of many churches, but devoid of Christians.” Since the 1993 establishment of the Palestinian Authority, the Christian majorities of Ramallah, Bethlehem and Beit Jala have been transformed into insignificant minorities.
Lamenting these types of petty disputes, Adams declared to Jefferson: “Twenty times in the course of my late reading have I been on the point of breaking out, “This would be the best of all possible worlds if there were no religion in it!!!” But in this exclamation I would have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean hell.”
All the buildings behind my apartment were low level and fronted a raised area of land. When midnight came the noise was simply horrific. I would have included video and sound of the noise inside my apartment even with all the doors shut, but unfortunately I used some graphic language at that time to describe the experience and as I don't know how to edit the sound, I had to edit that portion of the video out. In the video, you will see what one foreign teacher described as 'something akin to the London Blitz.' It's something you have to see to believe.
Most people have chosen to forget that Ali used to be not just outrageously racist but also anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, sexist and homophobic: “All Jews and gentiles are devils,” he once declared. “Blacks are no devils. Everything black people are doing wrong comes from (the white people): Drinking, smoking, prostitution, homosexuality, stealing, gambling. It all comes from (the white people).”
I remember walks around Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park, up Tumbledown Mountain in western Maine, up Katahdin in more northern Maine — where the Appalachian Trail climbs its final five (I think 5.2 is what I recently read.) miles, along a country road near that egg farm in Turner that is still apparently sinning in the way it treats chickens, up Singepole Mountain in South Paris, and up a bunch of higher Maine mountains on and off the Appalachian Trail.
I can’t help but wonder if this will be a wake-up call for the collective community of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and the Transgendered. It should be!! Our community has been so invested in liberal/progressive ideology that any person wishing to take on the mantle of leadership in our country, and does so under that banner is automatically assumed to have our best interest at heart. Personally, I don’t think they do.
George Meiser, compiled twenty-two volumes of Berks County and Reading photographs. Some of the photos date near Civil War times and most show an amazing city environment when Reading was a boom town with railroad shops, automakers, clothing makers, and hardware stores. What’s just as amazing as what will be, is the scene that once was. A trolley line wound around two surrounding mountains: Neversink and Mt. Penn. A half dozen hotels and resorts dotted along the way. The line and hotels are all gone. Only one remains: now remodeled into an apartment house.
The European Union is not the simple “open trading area” envisioned in the 1950s. It has become a bureaucratic monstrosity, unaccountable to national parliaments, imposing a heavy thumb on the regulatory scale of its 28 members. Ask an English or a Scottish friend what they think about their immigration challenge: their response will sound familiar. The EU is confronting hundreds of thousands of unidentified, and unidentifiable, migrants from both within the member states and refugees from elsewhere.
According to the British Economist Intelligence Unit (June 2, 2016), “Israel is bucking the global trend…. While global fundraising by start-ups was down by more than one third in the first quarter of 2016… fundraising in Israel increased in the final quarter of 2015…on track to meet, or exceed, its first-quarter-2016 total of $1BN, in the second quarter of 2016….”
Dumb sheep and stupid sheep do exist both in the animal kingdom and in the realms of mortal man. Any person who has worked on a sheep station knows quite well how dumb sheep can be. I’m sure you have experienced times in your life when you justified some action on the basis that someone else did it too, and your guardians asked “And if he jumped off a cliff would you follow him?” You probably bowed your head and said ‘no!’ But in real life, dumb sheep really do just walk off cliffs as they follow the leader.
I found sweatshirts that had the insignia of every Boston Sports Team that ever won a championship since the mid-1970’s. The one that put the widest grin on my face was the 1986 AFC Championship game that was held in Louisiana. Actually it looked almost new because I was so impressed they won that game I didn’t want it to lose its glow. Black, gray, blue, and even gray sweatshirts were strewn in front of me. Some had insignias of teams, businesses, and school I had long since forgot.
The persecution and expulsion of 820,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands exceeded the scope of the Palestinian Arab refugees, and occurred before, during and following the 1948-49 Arab war on Israel. On November 14, 1947, before the war, Egypt’s UN representative, Heykal Pasha warned: “The partitioning of Palestine shall endanger a million Jews in Moslem countries…”
I think the writer, Steve Pinkham, gave my copy to me several years ago at the annual Maine Appalachian Trail Club meeting. I’m not sure, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t have enough money with me to buy it. And I have a copy. “Just another guy pushing his self-published book,” I think I remember thinking about the writer.
This week's book basket contains information on seven books. I remind authors that they can make use of the free promotional offer that is contained in the book basket and I also remind readers that when purchasing books online to be mindful that authors lose a lot of royalties when you buy from big online bookstores rather than buy the same book at the same price from the book publisher's website. In this week's basket we have publicity material for “Imperience: Understanding the Heart of Consciousness” By Erik Knud-Hansen; “Dear Mom and Dad” By Georgia Lee McGowen; “The Little Farm in the Big Valley” By Eric Weidler; “Sinister Shape Shift: Dark Memories of a Past Life” by Sachita D Ramdin; Adventures of Mustang Sally” By Mustang Sally and Don Rashke; “Love and Stigma: The Outcast System” By Sir Adolphus O.M. Ekejiuba, KSJI and “Dancing in the Dark” by Bob Strauss
This doesn’t means that all readers try to trick a reporter. I even gained unwanted friends from the practice by those who were out to do me in. I remember the girl in South Paris, who wanted to go with me while I got the “scoop.” She didn’t understand. I used a pen, a notebook, and later a laptop computer. I never used a scoop.
Just look at the younger generation that now thinks is is quite alright to steal, lie and carry out other minor crimes as the norm. The groundwork is being laid for the complete collapse of society where every sector of that society is being weakened to the point of self-destruction, and then will come the day when chaos will be the norm. Is this what future generations will have to deal with?
Youtube Video Mosab Hassan Yousef – the “Green Prince” or “Son of Hamas”, speaking at The Jerusalem Post’s annual conference in New York said: “Today the free world should unite against Islam, not against Muslims but against Islam as a belief system. When the president of the free world stands and says that Islam is a religion of peace, he creates the climate, he provides the climate, the perfect climate, to create more terrorism.”
Anatomically speaking I understand the best time to learn new language is when one is very young. I am talking before the age of five. It has something to do with an open cerebellum and how when one gets older this part of our brain begins to close. As to why we force our students to take a foreign language when they get older and not when their cerebellums are open is another discussion all in itself.
In Paris, where this is being penned, every quartier has a different feeling, a rich experience. The Latin Quarter has the Sorbonne, Boulevard Raspail, the student areas, the leftist intellectual air, the Jardin de Luxembourg, and the cafes where the likes of Sartre and Camus hung out. The Champs Elysees has its elegant air, the fancy shops and restaurants, the feeling that one has come to the fashion capital of the world and women fitting the image of a la mode. Palais Royale, Rue de Rivoli, Montmartre – all have their special feeling. All are equally Paris, and one is nonetheless richer for having experienced one of them.
This fiction mystery moves from slow at first...although dramatic when someone finds a woman’s body in a whole in quarry ice on an island while he is fishing. It goes along from there, sometimes a bit slow but speeding up into real drama by the time it reaches the end. I borrowed this one from the Carver Memorial Library in Searsport. You can probably find a copy in your own public library, or they can help you get one.
The child wants independence, to be her own person and to escape the prying eyes of the mother. Will the mother become pathologically possessive demanding that her daughter remain close? This is precisely how intergenerational trauma occurs. My job as a psychotherapist is to help my clients work through their fears of loving. They must understand the damage of personal history, confront their past bravely, and have faith that they need not fall helplessly into the traps that their parents could not overcome.
Irrespective of occasional Arab emigration from British Mandate Palestine – due to intra-Arab terrorism, which has been an endemic feature in the Middle East – the substantial wave of Arab immigration from 1831-1947 triggered dramatic growth of the Arab populations in Jaffa (17 times), Haifa (12 times) and Ramla (5 times).
There is an ideological competition underway in the west. On the one side, there is reality, and on the other there is political/social ideology. In Australia the useful idiot’s heart bleeds for asylum seekers. Some years back this would have been justified, but today, the asylum seeker debate is pretty much controlled by the Marxists. After all, we MUST help the poor suffering souls on this planet we share. The only problem is that we now know that a significant portion of these poor suffering souls want nothing more than to enter our lives so that they can take control of our society and impose their ideology on it, if not actually destroy us.
The USA is composed of 50 states. Shavou’ot sheds light on the unique covenant between the Jewish State and the USA: Judeo-Christian values. These values impacted the worldview of the Early Pilgrims, the Founding Fathers and the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, the abolitionist movement, etc. The British philosopher John Locke – considered the Father of liberalism wanted the 613 Laws of Moses to become the legal foundation of the new society established in the Carolinas and throughout America. Pentecost is celebrated on the 7th Sunday after Easter.
So, there I sat with about twelve colleagues around an oval table discussing specific strategies concerning educational issues. Everyone had their dates and times perfectly set up like ducks behind their mother. I, after scribbling some time and date on the old receipt that will surely end up in the garbage a few minutes after the meeting had ended, had a subtle smile on my face. Looking around the room at the stern looking faces on all of my colleague’s faces I knew in my mind that maybe I was the normal one and the organized many had a problem with their DNA.
Learning from the mistakes that we make in our choice of relationships is key to improving future choices. Jane had to understand her tendency to choose selfish narcissistic men for lovers. Her insecurity with men, the unconscious fear that she was lacking, or perhaps not lovable enough guided her efforts to please and ingratiate the men she became involved with. Lost in this process were her needs, deeply repressed out of fear that their expression would result in eventual abandonment.
The 2016 proposed regional peace initiative is the latest in a litany of Western and Arab peace initiatives – introduced since 1948 – which have been wrecked on the rugged surface of the Middle East. These initiatives have stipulated dramatic Israeli concessions, and therefore fueling – not extinguished – violence, as demonstrated by the 1993 Oslo Accord and the 2005 disengagement from Gaza, resulting in unprecedented Palestinian incitement, hate-education, terrorism, missile salvos and non-compliance with agreements.
Memorial Day, it seems to me, has become the first real holiday of the year. People dig out from the winter and cold spring blues and whites (snow is still white in spring) and get started in enjoying the summer. The weather brings it on. For example, the Maine Appalachian Trail Club advises hikers and volunteer trail workers to wait for this holiday to get out there in the mud and a bit of snow. There is no real difference between May 27 and May 31, except that a three-day weekend separates them.
KingsCalendar Book Baskets is the first of two offers of free publicity for book authors struggling in the 'self-publishing market.' In this week's basket there are six books listed. These are: “Purpose Pie: Really Living in the Sweet Spot of Life” by Steve Douglas; “In the Crucible of Chronic Lyme Disease: Collected Writings & Associated Materials” By Kenneth B. Liegner, M.D.; “Moving Beyond Duality: Enough for Us All, Volume Three” By Dorothy I. Riddle, Ph.D., CMC; "Late Declared Son" By Jacques Simon; "The Protectors" By Janette and Linda Owens and “A Time to Act” By S.J. Knight
The insanity of anti-Israel Bigotry. Sixteen organizations from American, Asian, and European countries are demanding that Israel make it possible for BDS movement founder to travel around the world to sabotage Israeli commercial and national interests. But rather than addressing Israel’s foreign ministry (which is currently headed by PM Benjamin Netanyahu), these NGOs sent their protest to the foreign ministers of 14 countries and international organizations
To define ‘political correctness’ is comparatively easy when you understand the two terms. The antonym is a bit more difficult. What does it mean to be ‘politically incorrect’? Does it mean to be politically wrong or erroneous about the way government is carried on? In order to comprehend this opposite philosophy one would have to define a few more terms.
The front cover states, “A modern-day Dickensian voice for the losers in class warfare. No American author has chronicled the lives of those on the losing side of the class divide with greater love, sorrow, humor, fury, of psychological acuity.” If you like what in my limited view is strange writing, find this one and read it for yourself. My copy came from the Carver Memorial Library in Searsport, and they’ll want it returned.
While reading we children were blissfully deaf and blind to all else – as I am to this day. Very useful to me at the keyboard, where I am oblivious to noise, chaos and the passing of time – not so useful to my longsuffering spouse, who been known to call up the stairs, “Ground Control to Major Tom!” before bringing me a fourth cup of tea after the first three went cold…!
The UN envoy for the Middle East expressed alarm after Hamas authorities in Gaza moved to hold public executions. There are 13 men currently awaiting execution. There is a sexual assault epidemic in Gaza. Over 650 cases a year of sexual assaults on children are reported. Most assaults go unreported, 'hidden because of the weight of tradition and culture of shame'.
Since the end of WW2, about 100 million refugees from Europe, Asia and Africa have been integrated into their host countries, unlike the Palestinian Arab refugees, who have been sacrificed by their leadership on the altar of delegitimizing Israel. According to General Alexander Galloway, the UNRWA Director in Jordan, as recounted at a May 25, 1953 hearing of the Near East Senate Subcommittee: “The Arabs states do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”
Reading news such as the items mentioned above, I’m never quite sure if the PC ideologues are actually and monumentally STUPID people, or just monumentally ARROGANT people who do not believe that it is necessary to see life through the lens of other people’s existence. They PRETEND to understand and pretend to be concerned but in the end I wonder if they are not just pretentious monumentally stupid arrogant and self-important people.
This Week's book basket lists five books which are: “Common Stones” By Alicia M. Smith; “Total Package Girl: Discover the Ultimate You for Life” By Kristi K. Hoffman, MS; “Living Forever” By Jan Fawcett; “Harp” By Nidhi Dalmia; "A Time to Act" By S.J. Knight
On October 11, 1947, Abdul Rahman Azzam Pasha, the first Secretary General of the Arab League told the Egyptian daily Akhbar al Yom: “…This will be a war of extermination and momentous massacre, which will be spoken of like the Tartar massacres, or the Crusaders’ wars…. Each fighter deems death on behalf of Palestine as the shortest road to paradise….The war will be an opportunity for vast plunder…. ” On August 2, 1948, the NY Times reported that the founder of the largest Islamic terror organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al-Banna, instigated: “Drive the Jews into the sea… and never accept the Jewish State.”
Whereas once in China people had no right to speak anything other than what was politically allowed, today people are free to express their opinions. In the West, the reverse is happening. Whereas once in China, religion and the religious were persecuted, today they have liberties being denied in the West. Whereas once in China people were either uneducated or politically indoctrinated in Education, today the Chinese are striving for Academic Excellence in order to build a strong nation, and while they do so, in the West it seems Education is, if not merely a tool for the dumbing down of society at large lest the less fortunate or lazy 'feel bad' about their underachievements, it seems to be increasingly a system of Political and Social indoctrination.
Who the hell do these so called progressive liberals think that they are? Are they even aware that research demonstrates that the average Chinese person has more affinity with conservative Americans (read idiotic Christians) than American progressives, and in case you just missed what I have written, three billion Muslims and Chinese DO NOT share your values.
A few low hills were interesting too, such as the time I slipped going down Mt. Misery in Valley Forge State Park in Pennsylvania. I had been helping my first wife along, when the slip took place. Funny how I remember that. That low hill also had a tower we climbed, which barely afforded views over the treetops. And the day I walked west from Valley Forge, passed the military missile sites, and eventually saw a nice looking girl in short shorts. No, it wasn’t the girl, it was definitely the....missile sites, yeah, the missile sites. To tell a not-quite-truth, missile sites were always more interesting than a nice looking girl wearing short shorts.
Jordan has restricted travel of Gazans through its territory since last spring. Jordan is routinely denying transit permits for residents of Gaza and effectively preventing patients, university students and others with business abroad from leaving the territory. At the same time Egyptian-controlled Rafah border crossing -- Gaza's main gateway to the outside world – is all but shuttered! (But all blame is directed on Israel only!)
Authors are reminded that they are welcome to freely publish articles at Kingscalendar in order to promote their books. In this week's basket we have six books listed and they are: “Thunder’s Glory” By Loryn Kramer Staley; “Learning a Language Can Be Fun and Funny” By Dr. Ron Deigh; “Fit and Fabulous from Fifty Forward” By Bobbie Horowitz; “Ponderings of a Pedaling Pastor” By Dennis Whitmore; “Magic Sack Come Back Come Back” By Deborah Watters and “The Fabric of Health: Pain, Cancer, & Personal Relations” By John W. Cardano
According to Elfan Rees, Advisor on Refugees Affairs to the World Council of Churches: During the 1950s, there were 36 MN refugees in Europe, Africa and Asia [less than 1% were Arabs]. All, but the Arabs, have been integrated into their new societies.
But, if you’re looking for something to keep you warm for the rest of your life, your children’s lives, and very likely the grandkids, and you’ll be tucking the great-grands in bed with it too, make your own quilt. We’re using quilts that are well over one-hundred years old.
Leo Rosten in a book called The Joys of Yiddish, wrote that there is an old Jewish saying, that the difference between psychotics and neurotics is that while psychotics believe that 2 + 2 = 5, neurotics, although fully cognisant of the fact that 2 + 2 = 4, just simply can’t stand it! Personally, I think there are a lot of neurotics in the world.
To give you a good view, found on the rear paper flap, “This is a tale of opportunistic predators on a collision course. It is about the ocean, the last frontier, the fortunes it can deliver -- and the lives it can swallow whole. It is also about one man’s rough voyage from rugged independence to reluctant connection with others.” Now why didn’t I read that first? It at least gives me a general idea of the story. It’s too bad the story didn’t.
Maine is famous for its fresh seafood. I don’t believe there is any other place on the planet where you can have a lobster, lobster salad, lobster role, or any other recipe of lobster every day. Story has it that in the early 1920’s prisoners in Maine complained because they were given lobster to eat every day. This kind of makes you want to commit some sort of crime.
This last week I have received so much genuine love from people who went out of their way to ensure that they caught up with me while they were at school for their graduation. From the Bride's invitation to the wedding, Defu's long conversations with me, to Wen organizing and ensuring that I attended Wednesday night’s dinner, to the two boys Jiawei and Yang who both kissed me on the lips, and to Nan who took me to lunch on Friday and thanked me for giving her zero in her first speaking test, I have been the recipient of so much love this week.
Syria’s Prime Minister, Khaled al-Azam, admitted, in his 1973 memoirs: “We brought destruction upon the refugees, by calling on them to leave their homes.” On April 28, 1948, Sir Alan Cunningham, the last British High Commissioner in Palestine stated: A total evacuation was urged by higher Arab quarters. John Troutbeck, Head of the British Middle East Office, in Cairo (June 1949): “The refugees know who their enemies are – their Arab brothers who persuaded them to leave their homes…”
I do remember the lady who phoned me from somewhere that was not Maine and told me her son was hiking into Maine on the AT. Her question; will anything hurt him. I told her as long as he kept inside the leantos at night, he’d be fine. When she asked why, I explained that the mosquitoes wouldn’t fit into the leantos. I’m not sure I believe many of the trail tales I tell people, who either ask or are within range of my trail tales.
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports,” George Washington said. “In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness.” .. Perhaps more importantly, they highlight the need for civil society. You’d never know it from the shouting heads on the cable-news stations and on the op-ed pages, but not everything has to be about politics. EPPC knows that.
How is it possible in today’s society, that a person believes on-line harm and harassment, gossip and defaming, hatred and public humiliation, is okay to do to another human being? How low must a person have sunk in her or his own life that she or he believes that that type of behavior is not only okay, but acceptable — repeatedly?
In this week's book basket we have four books listed. A couple of them are more recent books and a couple are much older books. This week's books are: “Profit of Death” By Leon Margie; “The Singer and His Songs” By Deke Rivers; “Adventure, Day One” By PJ Jackson and “Accidental Lives” By David Burger
“They want to investigate and prosecute corporations and individuals for their opinions on an unproven scientific theory, for which there is not a consensus, despite inaccurate claims to the contrary,” writes legal expert Hans von Spakovsky. The fact that this flies in the face of the First Amendment seems so crushingly obvious that I can’t believe it needs to be said. But when you have public officials talking about using the federal government to punish those who dissent from their viewpoint, it is actually necessary to say it.
Bill and Hillary Clinton received at least $100 million from autocratic Persian Gulf states and their leaders, potentially undermining Democratic presidential candidate Hillary’s claim she can carry out independent Middle East policies.
Pavlov’s dog and psychological conditioning: Most people are just dumb sheep. They follow the leader. In any diatribe in the media against anyone on any matter, you invariably see or hear ‘tagging.’ Rightest/ leftist/ neo-con/ religious/ christian/ libertarian/ conservative or some other tag is used to describe the person being attacked. What this demonstrates to me, is that people are far more concerned with ‘towing the line’ of some philosophy, than thinking about ‘issues.’ If you are a ‘rightest,’ then I can discount any argument that you may provide. What it says about people, is that they can’t think for themselves. They just react to conditioning.
My husband, Ryan, and I received the call. Recently, an extremely close relative was diagnosed with cancer. A massive punch to the gut. Loss of breath. Anxious moments. Endless fear. A diagnosis was made and surgery commenced. There are still difficult days ahead: Chemotherapy will be administered.
Ever since Arafat walked away from the negotiating table at Camp David where then prime minister Ehud Barak offered him a state on half of Jerusalem, all of Gaza and 92 percent of Judea and Samaria, the position of the international community has been that Israel wasn’t sufficiently generous, not that the Palestinians reject peace.
UNRWA was established on December 8, 1949 as a temporary, 2-3-year relief agency, but became permanent, the largest UN agency, overstaffed, featuring a $1 BN pension fund, and used as a dagger aimed at Israel. UNRWA deals only with Palestinian refugees, employing 30,000 people, compared with 6,400 people employed by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which deals with 60 million refugees. The UNHCR terminates refugees’ status, while UNRWA perpetuates and exacerbates refugees’ status and inflates their numbers.
There are only four books listed in this weeks Book Basket. They are: “Set the Captive Free: Be Who God Wants You to Be” By Liz Beamer; “It’s Business, It’s Personal" By Saad Amanullah Khan; “Six Years Later” by David Altman and “Just Say It!” by Dr. Cheryl Bauman
“It doesn’t matter what is true. It only matters what people believe is true.” Paul Watson (Co-Founder of Green Peace.) “Childbearing should be a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license. All potential parents should be required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing.” David Brower (Sierra Club)
Traditionally fairy stories and fables acted as a conduit for information from the adult milieu. They were a way for children to receive messages about the perils of the world, of the dangerous elements of life, of moral quagmires to trap the unwary. Today children’s literature has become specialized.
Norwegian foreign minister, Borge Brende, confirmed report that the Palestinians use funding from US and other Western nations’ taxpayers to pay salaries to jailed murderers/terrorists. The PA has received an estimated $25 billion (some estimations – up to $31 billion) in financial aid over two decades.
Now as any ‘intelligent’ person knows, there is no ‘God,’ for we all come from some slimy critter that crawled out of the primordial soup. We are the products of Evolution! And what is the first law of evolution? Kill or be Killed! The strongest wins! The fittest survive! Now I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade (like heck!) but I would point out something that is so obvious, that it is apparently oblivious to the ‘we love nature crowd,’ as it is also to the ‘we are just better looking monkeys’ crowd.
Notwithstanding Europe’s support of the Palestinian Authority and harsh criticism of Israel, NATO does not subscribe to the “isolate Israel” theory, follows its own order of geo-strategic priorities, and therefore refuses to cut off its nose to spite its face. Hence, on May 3, 2016, NATO significantly upgraded its ties with Israel, inviting Jerusalem to establish a permanent mission at their Brussels headquarters.
As for the Mayor of London, the ignorant masses will turn on him when he screws up, or introduces unpopular legislation or by-laws, and when the masses begin to complain, sociopathic PC political ideologues will start accusing them of racism.
If you don’t like snow, plan to travel during a season other than winter. Mother Nature does enjoy blanketing the Romantic Highway with snow. But the weather is great in the spring, summer or fall, although most tourists seem to prefer summer, as do the Germans themselves. For lodging arrangements, I like to do that in advance but “Bed and Breakfasts” abound on the Romantic Highway, and you wouldn’t want to miss that wonderful opportunity. Finding such quaint and memorable lodging is much easier during the offseason.
Don't you just get tired of all those wankers running around accusing everyone of racism? If I say that I don't like Muslims that makes me a racist! If I say that I don't like Indian food that makes me a racist. If I say that I don't like Obama that makes me a racist. If I say that I don't like Clinton that proves I am sane but if I say that I like Trump then I am an anti-American racist supporter of apartheid.
To see religious liberty under attack in the United States is disheartening -- and more than a little ironic. The only people being discriminated against are those who ask simply that they not be made to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs. That such a bedrock, common-sense provision, one rooted in the DNA of our country’s founding principles, is controversial says a lot about how embattled our most basic freedoms have become.
The general director of the Yesha Council promises the application of Israeli sovereignty over the territory that was liberated in ’67. The significance of this step is similar to that of a small atomic bomb. A solid and logical step, but undoubtedly will shake Israel and the world at large to its very foundations. There is no way of knowing what the Palestinians would do, but one may guess.
This week's book basket contains the listing for seven books. The first two come from recently received releases and the other five were published at Magic City six months ago. “Loving on Me! Lessons Learned on the Journey from Mess to Message” By Katrina McGhee;“The Florida Caper” by David Celley; “Poems of a Divorcee” By Merawyn Harrison; “Stepping Out” By S.T. Stone; “Amadeus!” By Josephine deBois; “The Costa” By William Bengtsson; and “Crossing Caine’s Road” by Maggie Hinton.
The PA is asking the international community to award an imprisoned Palestinian terrorist, Marwan Barghouti, with the Nobel Peace Prize. Eurovision Song Contest has forbidden flags containing commercial messages and flags of political or religious nature including the Basque, Crimean, Transnistrian, and Palestinian flags. Mohammed Rashid has threatened to expose corruption scandals in the Palestinian Authority accusing President Mahmoud Abbas of embezzling $100 million
Any attempt to negate the Jewish people's right to Palestine-Eretz-Israel, and to deny them access and control over the area designated for the Jewish people by the League of Nations is a serious infringement of international law.
Is it racist to say that there are some things about ‘ethnic’ culture that you don’t want to take hold in ‘your’ country? It is? Then you don’t mind female circumcision? You don’t mind spitting food onto your table or floor? You don’t mind ‘hocking’ at the dinner table. You don’t mind entertaining your husband’s boss but not being allowed to eat at the same table?
The caller will ask me to push certain buttons and I’ll pretend that I did. Then they ask if a code came up. Several times I have said to the person: “It says, ‘R-e-v-21:8.’” They’re initially confused because my answer doesn’t match how their trick is supposed to work. So I’ll ask, “Do you ever read the Bible?” Usual response: “No.” “In Revelation 21:8, it says that ‘all liars will have their part in the lake of fire.’” Then I tell them that I know this is a scam, that they’re lying and trying to steal money from a church. “And you will be accountable for it . . . Do you realize that?” Then I usually hear a ‘click’.
That last section is hilarious and so Chinese. I keep telling people that no matter how western Chinese people may seem or behave, they are not culturally western people and their thinking is not western cultural thinking....You probably don’t know what she means so I will tell you. In China, grass is for looking at. It is not for smoking, walking on, sitting on, lounging on, or running on. To quote a wonderful photo I took in Wuhan many years ago: “No coming on the grass!”
If there is one conservative Millennial who is currently on a trajectory of success in political commentary and debate one would have to look no further than the Millennial's Millennial, Kristin Tate. As if suddenly exploding onto the political scene, Ms. Tate is quickly making a name for herself as an intelligent and persuasive voice of the libertarian wing of the conservative movement.
The staff wheeled me, bed and all, to another room, where my wife came to visit. After about a half hour, we learned I was going home. Good thing she came that day. The going-home-thing was a total surprise, which I’m glad happened. And it’s a fairly long walk home.
As for this yokel from the antipodes, all I really know is that the two people that the American population is now rooting for are both currently under criminal investigation. God help America if these two represent the best and brightest of America’s Political gene pool.
My wife has forever complained about my tone especially when we had an argument whose context was soon forgot. I told her I only had one tone and to change it would make me not me. She did not like this conversation because she did not like its tone. I still couldn’t figure out how one could change the tone in their voice and thus change their voice. I am still confused.
The annual US investment in Israel – erroneously defined as “foreign aid” (Foreign Military Financing) – has yielded one of the highest rates of return on US investments overseas. Israel is neither “foreign,” nor does it receive “aid.”
If you refuse to publish and refuse to reject it – then if must be inferred that you do so because your company does not have sufficient funds to follow through with the financial reimbursement if you choose to cancel the contract – or – you intend to hold me to ransom neither publishing the book nor giving me freedom to submit to another company.
Since the New Face of KingsCalendar officially commenced around Feb 22. 2016, the following is the list of author articles which have published in the Writers Journal KingsCalendar. This list does not include those authors for whom column pages have been created.
Todays book basket contains the press release material for seven books, a couple of which are fairly recent releases. The releases include “Case Two: Big Bully Holly Howler” by Dr. Elana Ashley; “How to Enjoy Life with Bipolar Disorder” By Ann Latta Donnan; “Granny Glitter’s Christmas Story” By Andree Siracusa; “If Your Telephone Isn’t Working, Please Call the Office” By J.T. Victor; “A Year in the Village” By Petra Langa; “Indian Leader Trail Boss” By Clark Selby and “Raine’s Rainbow Socks Book 1 Raine’s Birthday, Red Socks, Orange Socks” By Richard Ditchburn
The European Union said it was "deeply concerned" by Israel's construction of a new part of the security fence between it and Palestinian Authority (PA) controlled territories. (This ‘concern’ is coming while the EU is building fences all over the Europe to stop the Muslim migrant invasion!)
Sociopathic Political Correctness Ideologues and Thought Police are bullies and I would go so far as to say that in the deepest recesses of their minds and hearts, they are nothing like what they pretend to be. They are a mass of conflicting emotional and psychological issues that manifest in their totalitarian ideology. And that is what makes them bullies.
It behooves Obama to cut the claptrap and to do for Israel what he has done for Iran, for the Taliban, for Cuba, for Russia , for China and for numerous Guantanamo prisoners when he signed orders to simply send them home to other countries unconditionally.
The Hope Diamond is a large, one-of-a-kind, diamond from India with a beautiful deep blue color owing to a boron trace. Diamonds of this nature are indeed rare and valuable, but the Hope Diamond is thought to also be notorious owing to its alleged curse.
Taking into account the attempts of rehabilitation of the Stalin regime in Russia, and considering that the witnesses of Stalin’s abuse are passing away, it is worth reminding people about the exploitations of power that existed in the communist USSR.
I perpetually ask my students to give me an example of perfect. None can for the only perfect thing is nothing? Does this mean God is nothing? Does this mean that forever, as far as present man is concerned, has spent their existences worshipping nothing? Could this be where science and religion split?
Paul Sugg has worked in development in Third World countries for 40 years, helping to build schools and design irrigation schemes for farmers. In this article, he offers his advice for aid workers who are traveling to a country engulfed in civil war.
Jim Fabiano is a teacher and writer living in York, Maine. With his retirement in sight he is hoping to pubish another book. Previous books include “Laugh it Off” (2003) and “Humor from York Town” (2005)
The sea of history has parted many times since the Biblical Exodus, featuring the Jewish people marching on relatively dry grounds (although soaked with much Jewish blood) to the Promised Land – in defiance of destruction, exile, expulsion, auto-da-fe’ (execution by burning), the Holocaust, pogroms, violent anti-Semitism, conventional warfare and terrorism – while their enemies drowned.
I wrote a narrative about the experience of one night of passion during those two weeks. Perhaps reading the following prose poem, you can better understand the depth, breadth and fantasy power of that memorable night.
There are five books listed in this week's book basket. They are: “Future Man” By Bruno de Marques; “Big Bad Killing Machine” By Sally A. Allen; “Revolutionary Powercycles” By Giacomo Fasano; “Where’s My Wife?” By Clark Selby and “Brightfire: A Tale of Sutton Hoo” By P.M. Sabin Moore
Israeli youth, along with the general public, are turning toward the right because they understand reality for what it is, and not as the other side presents it. The Left is bypassing Israeli democracy and taking its campaign to the international arena.
“Israel was not established to be a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural liberal democracy. It was established to be the state of the Jewish people.” – Dr Aviel Sheyin-Stevens. There are ‘purely’ Muslim, Christian and Buddhist states. Why mustn’t be a Jewish one, in which Jews live freely? After almost two millennia of persecution we deserve it!
we have begun the slide into a madness that first commences with our refusal to see what is clearly before our eyes and to hear what is clearly spoken in our ears, and which then rushes headlong into blatant hypocrisy that self justifies by the slimmest of threads.
Since 1993, the Palestinian Authority intimidation of Christians has intensified the flight of Christians. However, the Vatican and most Christian/Western governments have – knowingly - sacrificed the religious and civil liberties of Christian minorities – and their very existence - on the altar of wishful-thinking, political-correctness and appeasement.
Because of Brennan’s adherence to the politically-correct orthodoxy that permeates the Obama administration the U.S. government is being prevented from identifying, understanding and countering radical Muslims and their threat of imposing Sharia law.
There are seven books in this week's book basket, they are: "The Life and Times of Halycon Sage" by Karima Vargas Bushnell; “Expressions of the Last Days” By Jeff Porter; “Erosion” By Julie M.; “Trained to be an OSS Spy” by Helias Doundoulakis; “Intentional Living and Leadership: Consciousness, Choice and Planning for Success” By Craig C. Sroda; “Proclivities: A Pop Culture Odyssey” By Jay Alan Reeves and “Killing the Perfectionist Within” By Honor Jane Newman
If elected, what actions will you take to protect the unrestricted right of use, enjoyment and disposal of private property by its owners? If elected, what actions will you take to oppose the creation of non-elected boards, councils and regional government boards and help restore the rightful duty of elected representative government? If elected, will you take action to help stop the erosion of local control by ending these federal grant programs?
Rep. Tom Marino (R-Pa.) recently provided an example of how things can go awry under the Chevron Doctrine. Noting the presence of a small stream by several farms near his home, he said the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers tried to push through a rule stating that because a farm sometimes has some standing water after a rainstorm, the Navigable Waters Act gives the EPA control over that farm.
The considerable number of records released included hard-copy emails from then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s then-chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, and Clinton aides Jake Sullivan, Human Abedin, as well as then-U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice, according to a statement from the Congressional committee. Mills and Abedin are both working on the Clinton for President campaign while Susan Rice is Obama’s national security adviser.
A constitutional budget would estimate $1.6 trillion and would be balanced by using $1.6 trillion of the $3.5 trillion tax revenues. The remaining $1.9 trillion of tax revenues would be distributed to the 50 states based on a total population of 300 million, or approximately $6,000 per capita.
Guess who is the number one violator of women’s rights in the world today? The UN Human Rights Council (CSW) concluded its 60th annual session in New York by condemning only Israel – and no other nation in the world – as an abuser of women’s rights. Not Syria. Not Saudi Arabia. Not Sudan. Not Palestinian men. Not Somalia or Yemen. Sudan – whose president has been indicted for genocide and crimes against humanity – is currently a CSW Vice-Chair
‘Military Intelligence’ is an oxymoron, and secondly because ‘we’ don’t have the faintest idea of ‘what and how’ the terrorists think, and while none of us would like to see a ‘government controlled press’ such as we have here in China, where no more than 20% bad news can be published, our western ‘free’ press and democratic rights to public comments provide great fodder for the other side.
There are many ways of evaluating what kind of a week you had. You could review your checkbook to see if you added or reduced your balance. Scientifically the best way of measuring the success of your week is by checking to see what’s inside your dishwasher.
Moreover, the Nazi “Yellow Patch” originated in Arab lands, where Jews – and other “infidels” – were forced to wear a “Yellow Badge of Shame” (Christians were assigned pink badges), as well as yellow belts, honey-colored hoods, yellow headgear, in addition to paying “infidel tax” (Jizyya, per the Quran, Surah 9, verse 29), prohibited to build tall homes and testify against “believers,” and were forced to place “infidel” signs on their homes.
I think that if the railway authorities we were to implement this type of program, they would be creating a safe environment for each societal group which fears for its safety. Unfortunately they would also be justifying apartheid – the segregation of disparate societal groups.
Speaking from a personal point of view, I think that everyone, young and old should purchase this book to better educate themselves about the unsavory medical world and its practitioners. Keeping in mind, that not all engaged in this lucrative field are unsavory or unethical in their medical treatments, but as the old saying goes; “Forewarned is forearmed!”
By any accepted legal standard, Gaza is not under Israeli occupation. International law requires that, for an area to be considered as under occupation, the territory must be “actually placed under the authority of the hostile army.” Again, there appears to be a unique definition of “occupation” applicable only to Israel.
There are seven listings in this week's Writer's Journal Book Basket. These are: “Constitution to Crisis” By Dale Walker; “Wake Up Don’t Let the World Pass You By” by Allan L. Roberts; “The Amusing Bible” by Arthur Tovmasyan; “DANCE — An Illustrated History” By Helene Andreu; “A Song in the Dark” by June M. Davis; “Once Saved, Always Saved: Satan’s Greatest Trick” By Stephen Pippin and “Get Reel: Produce Your Own Life” By Nancy Mramor Kajuth, Ph.D.
The West likes to win, but Westerners feel a need in that process to tread the high moral ground by holding onto superior concepts; they like their social perspectives completely sanitized and their political aspirations to be pious and civilized, and in doing so they completely fail to understand the ‘realities’ of life for the majority of the world’s populations.
I recently came across the following story for which I can find no record on the old Kingscalendar website, and so I will publish it here on the new site and in doing so, hope that you will enjoy it. Originally published on February 25, 2007 under the title name: “What is There to Like about Living in China?”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Department’s inspector general’s office, and a number of non-government organizations (NGO) investigating public corruption continue their pursuit of the truth. They assert that they are using the federal civil courts to achieve the transparency promised to the American people by President Obama.
The number of Muslim terrorist cells in the US has increased, as have Islamic terrorist attacks on the US mainland, such as in San Bernardino (2015), Boston (2013), Times Square (2010), Ft. Hood, Texas (2009), Little Rock, Arkansas (2009), Dallas, Texas (2009), etc.
There are 5 books in this week's book basket. They are: “Aryan Papers” by George Dynin; “The Early Years” by Rachel G. Carrington; “The Graduate Handbook” By Russell J. Bunio; “Gender Balancing” By Martin Calderon Cohen and “Down the U-Bend of Your Mind: A Look at Self-Examination” By Kevin Barnard
At eighteen years of age, I was that stepmother! It was not just one child who came to live with us, but one girl and two boys aged three to eight. I very much wanted those children of my husband’s for I had grown to love them over the eighteen-month period that I had known them.
“Only Israel is permanently scheduled for condemnation at the UN Security Council,” he said. “Not Iran, not Syria, not North Korea.” He went on to make clear his opposition to the prospect of a UN Security Council resolution laying down the parameters for a future Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.
Anti-Vilification laws which were supposed to protect or at least provide redress to those who have been abused or attacked on the basis of their ‘difference,’ are constantly used to punish ordinary people who exercise their democratic right to freedome of thought, opinion and speech.
The truth is that during our early childhood years (ages 0 – 7) we are like learning machines with a pure empty computer chip taking in everything from our surroundings; languages, who our family and friends are, the good, the bad, the ugly! If we are lucky, we come from a nurturing environment that inputs love, joy, ease, worthiness, peace, confidence and all of the good things that life has to offer.
He was an extremely nice guy and when it was holidays for Christians he would always say ‘Come with a cart and horse and bring some villagers and we will collect some food.’ He’d give us all kinds of food and this was a nice tradition. The sad story is that I saw exactly when they came to arrest him in 1944, a time that they were arresting a lot of Polish people; I was looking out through the window.
I do not hate or fear Muslims. They are people. They have a right to their religion, but what the useful idiots do not see, is that Islam is manifested in two entirely different ways, and it is only the one and not the other, that the U.I. can see. The first way in which Islam is manifested, is as a religion. The second way in which it is manifested, is as a political power.
Today, we’ve become a world of people living in tribes hoping we will survive the night. Those who hold the largest sticks are comforted in the fact they represent the truth. Those who are relegated to surround the smaller and weakest of the sticks want to martyr themselves in order to destroy the comfort of the powerful.
This book by Paul Stutzman did cover those spiritual areas, and, in fact, the whole tale of his AT hike was connected to those spiritual conflicts and questions. Stutzman’s wife had died of cancer, and Stutzman was on this hike to try to gain back something of a normal life.
There are five books listed in this weeks Book Basket at the Writer's Journal Kingscalendar, and they are: “Walking the Stones of Time” by Oswald Brown; “A Drill Sergeant’s Fame” By Kimberly Mae; “Listening for God’s Voice” By Ruth Pearson; “Intrusion” By Lanayre Liggera and “OTMA 82 — The First Day”By Serge Jusyp
Area C was placed under Israeli control, while Areas A and B were Palestinian. The agreements were ratified by the international community, including the EU, and intended as a step towards the two-state solution. “Diplomatic immunity is there to protect envoys from unjust treatment, not to protect the high-handed behaviour of arrogant (anti-Semitic) bureaucracies.”
Instead of offering assistance to the Belgian law enforcement and intelligence communities, Obama, Clinton and other Democrats are offering noble — and meaningless — platitudes. Meanwhile, the Democrats and their allies are displaying more outrage over GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s response to Belgium’s terror attacks than they are to the devastation and death caused by ISIS in that European nation.
The other day at school I was advised by my administration that I should keep my political views to myself. Since the present political cycle is the oddest and most interesting of my life this request will be very difficult to obey.
The 586 BCE destruction of the First Temple (on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount), by the Babylonian Emperor, Nebuchadnezzar, triggered a wave of Jewish emigration to Babylon and to Persia, which replaced Babylon as the leading regional power. 70 years later, Xerxes the Great, Persian King Ahasuerus, succeeded Darius the Great and proclaimed his support for rebuilding the Temple and resurrecting Jewish life in the Land of Israel.
There is one thing that I hold sacred and that is music, which all of us with any culture are linked with. My wife wanted me to not only change my name but my culture and thus, she objected to my singing in English. On the other hand, like most of the Kebekois, she had absolutely no talent at all and was attempting to make a copy of her cultureless background.
“Enough!” my wife yelled, seizing her moment. “Enough of the happy curmudgeon. From now on I want you to be the grizzled old white haired balding middle aged son-of-a-bastard that I fell in love with.”
But I did think about God when a car rear-ended me, cutting my forehead, not falling while climbing an old church steeple to help dismantle it, getting back to the car after dark following a long hike up Tumbledown, missing a teen-age girl who leaped in front of my car hollering, “Hit me, hit me!”
This are seven listings in this week's book basket. They are: “Purpose Pie: Really Living in the Sweet Spot of Life” By Steve Douglas; “Cuba Unchained” By Gerard Dion; “Thou Shalt Kill” By Tom P. Brown; “It’s a Long Way from China to Hollywood” By Grace Yang; “A Journey Through the Life of Jesus” by Mike Folmer; “The Three Year Affair” By Anny Omous and “No Time to Cry” By Vera Leinvebers
EMR was hailed as a necessary tool to enhance integration of medical services, reduce medical errors, and improve outcomes of treatment. I have observed this technology to have unforeseen consequences. In fact, I have seen EMR facilitate just the opposite of what was intended.
According to the US foreign policy establishment, a Palestinian state would enhance stability, moderation, peace, and democracy. How credible is this assessment? In 2011, the US foreign policy establishment claimed that the eruption of turbulence on the Arab Street was an Arab Spring. Instead, the US has been confronted with an Arab Tsunami.
US Vice President Joe Biden was at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa last Tuesday evening as a Palestinian terrorist was less than a mile away, running along the boardwalk in the city and indiscriminately stabbing anyone he encountered. An American tourist has been killed and 10 other people wounded!
Some political strategists believe she may have gotten the idea of using anonymous leaders from Secretary of State John Kerry, who used the same rationale for voting for him when he ran against President George W. Bush.
Oppenheimer, whose group is funded by foreign governments... demonized his fellow citizens to advance his paymasters’ goal of delegitimizing Israeli sovereignty by among other things, criminalizing Israel’s right to self-defense.
I recall flying in a helicopter above those woods and fields. More woods than fields. A lot of woods, in fact. That’s what Maine is a lot of…woods. When I taught school, I watched those little — junior high — students playing basketball. Why play basketball indoors when it’s so nice outdoors?
Swanson’s story is complete, more complete than I would imagine it could be. At the end of the book is a list of his sources, more sources than I would imagine could be found. It is the story of the 12-day manhunt, including many details, for the President’s killer.
We were told to go home and figure out ways to tell our child what to do, instead of causing her confusion and distress by yelling about what not to do all of the time. This was called positive speak. Writing new house rules in positive speak was our first homework task.
Writer's Journal Kingscalendar Book Basket No 4 has six books listed in it. These are "Between Black and White" By Tony Bethel; “The Moral Vacuum” by Martyn Gabe; "Dina’s Lost Tribe" By Brigitte Goldstein; "Two Tales of the Moon" By Jennifer Sun; “The Power of Me!” By Russell Aitken, Francesca Traill, Nicolina Bernabei-Myszka and “Women Who Knew Jesus” by Bonnie Ring.
Mideast peace agreements are as durable as are Arab regimes, policies and accords, which have been, since the 7th century, the world’s most shifty, intolerant, violent, volatile and treacherous, as currently reflected by the intensifying Arab Tsunami from northwestern Africa to the Persian Gulf.
Bentonite clay is volcanic ash with all the impurities burnt out leaving tightly bound pure trace minerals. Clay is a nano crystal with a strong negative ionic charged surface area from the thermodynamic heat of a volcano. It is highly regarded as a strong detoxifier.
Israel must follow the example (legal precedent set by the international community) and impose sanctions on the terror infested PA! Why should Jews supply water, electricity and other services to mortal enemies? Humanism must have its limitation!
One of America’s biggest crime problems is Iranians or their agents stealing intellectual property from both the government and from businesses,” according to corporate director of security and cyber crime expert Jonathan Christian Peters.
No wonder Everett Piper, head of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, wrote an open letter last fall calling on students to “grow up,” noting that “our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic.”
On Sunday the Times published a 13,000-word, two-part investigation into Clinton’s role in the 2011 overthrow of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. Published in the White House’s paper of record, the report makes no attempt to hide the fact that consequences of Gaddafi’s overthrow have been calamitous and that the decision to overthrow the Libyan strongman was Obama’s most visible foreign policy fiasco.
Trump capitalizes on the significant erosion – especially since the 2008 economic meltdown - of America’s self-confidence, optimism, patriotism and conviction in its moral, economic, scientific, social and military exceptionalism, compared to the rest of the world.
I think I remember from past years that spring eventually shows up for a few minutes. Plants rush to their leafiness, bugs get into circulation, we see critters in yonder woods such as deer and rabbits, and a few more things that mean spring.
video of Palestinian Authority (PA) police officers brutally beating a young Palestinian boy... Does the world really care about the Palestinians?... had a group of IDF soldiers administered this beating... threats of International lawsuits and global media attention would be elicited. Does the world give any thought to the hundreds and thousands of Palestinians that are routinely abused by Hamas, Fatah and any number of other Palestinian armed groups?
“For example, the national media hyped NASA’s finding that 2014 was the hottest year on record,” writes Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas. “Ignored was the footnote that revealed that NASA was only 38 percent certain this was accurate. Less than fifty-fifty. Americans would have been better served by a coin toss.”
This writer, Kelvin Kwa, floored me with his command of the “English” language and his profound ability to write his story line in such a way that it totally ensnares the reader. I was amazed at the way Mr. Kwa was able to keep the story line nice and tight, leaving the reader gasping and wanting more.
There are 7 books in this basket. “The Ratten Expedition” by Dave Hornung; “Lords of the Creek” by Tony Nwaka; “Predatory Medicine” by Dr. J. S. Vangrow; “White Ashes” By John D. Moulton; “Secrets of the IRS” By Ann Hewitt; “An Epistle Concerning The Purpose Of Life” By Randy Sweigard and “Christ and Caribbean Culture(s) by Gabriel Malzair
The 1982 PLO-Israel War in Lebanon – pre-empting a grand scale PLO assault on northern Israel -was the first war with no involvement of Arab military forces. The war erupted on June 6, but the Arab League convened an emergency session only in September, after the PLO had already been expelled from Beirut.
A signature event is the last final major achievement in your life, for what you wish to be remembered, and potentially the last challenge of your public life. Perhaps it is a challenge, if you’ve been financially successful in life, with a social component like the betterment of man, or the elimination of hunger in the world.
We admonish ourselves or others to “slow down and relax” and make a determined effort to reduce our stress by turning to physical exercise, meditation or chemicals. But soon we discover we have little control over the restlessness.
From Katniss Everdeen to Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker to Neo, these characters and their story elements speak to the child like wonder common in each one of us no matter the origin of our circumstances. They engage the need to stand above the crowd after having the vague belief that each of us are miraculous individuals, drummed into our psyche from birth by our well meaning parents.
One of the most interesting books I’ve ever read, Nothing Like It in the World tells how the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads were built and met in the mountains to form the first railroad to cross the United States.
Dolores has never climbed the old Appalachian Trail up the steep, very steep northern slopes of 4180-feet-high Old Speck in Grafton Notch. I haven’t either for too many years. The rerouted Appalachian Trail follows a different and much easier route to the top. I’ve worked as a volunteer on part of that new trail but never climbed the whole thing.
There are six books listed in Book Basket Two at Kingscalendar. They are: “Warren, oh Warren!” By Ofem Ajah; “Smash-Mouth Jesus: A Memoir – God’s Answer to Violence” by Jack Flynn; “Apex Predator” By Kelvin Kwa; “Beloved Enemy: A Conflict of Love and Duty” By Sheila Munds-Belbin; “Quintessential Bellydance: Beginner Class Companion” By Evyenia Karmi and “Junk Food Christianity: The Decline of the USA, the End Times, and Biblical Prophecy” by Jay Anthony
It is clear that neither the right-wing government nor the slogans of a “war against terror” will actually stop the murder and incitement. Only a clear and historic pronouncement that the period of negotiations has ended, the false equation of “land for peace” will no longer be tolerated, there will never be a Palestinian state and the Oslo Agreement and everything it implies is thoroughly annulled.
“This is the Jewish nation, the nation of Israel – and we, the Christians, must protect her, and protect the freedoms we Christians have here in Israel. We Christians should be protecting this holy land, which is the source of the Christian faith.” – Gabriel Naddaf, a spokesman for the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, speaking before the European Parliament for an emergency – Instead, anti-Semitic Europe has been actively helping Arabs to destroy the Jewish state!
The E-Book version will be interactive in that readers will be able to click onto links and be directed to articles and photographs at Kingscalendar.com. The Paperback version will still have the footnotes but readers will need to save to this page link to their favorites tab.
Martha Stevens-David was the fourth of eight children born to an Aroostook County, Maine, potato farmer and his wife. She desired to be a writer from the age of eight. In 1982, when teaching English as a second language in Taipei, Taiwan, she began writing the stories that she had carried in her mind all of her days. She has published four books and is currently writing her fifth.
With the introduction of Book Baskets on this my new Kingscalendar website, I am making the same offer to authors that I make at Magic City Morning Star. I will help you promote your book by providing a “No Charge – No Pay” service. I invite authors who are capable of writing a ‘stand-alone’ article (to write something that readership might find interesting.
I was somewhat prepared to sympathize with the author “June Davis'” life of tragedy. But I was not prepared for her ability and understanding of writing such beautiful, heart rending poems. And I wasn’t prepared for the fact that the author could explain to her readers how she felt and how she overcame each dark journey to finally reach the golden light on the other side.
Probably won’t get to Acadia National Park. Been there too many times in the past 15 years or so. Besides, it gets crowded sometimes with over two million tourists per year. Of course, most of them aren’t walking the forty plus miles of trail. Most are just driving around, killing time, while they wait to go to a restaurant to eat.
The following is a list of all column pages for all writers past and present on both the old site and the new. Authors with a column on the old site will retain that column with all 2016 articles added to it.
Laure McCourt Lopez is a California native who gave up the hustle and bustle of Bay Area living and moved to her ancestral roots in the "wilds" of suburban Maine with husband Gil and son Tom in tow. Life offered more change in the form of a career shift from 29 years in early childhood education to her current profession as Certified Professional Coder in family practice. When life takes a break from work, she enjoys genealogy ("Coder by trade, genealogist by addiction"), creative writing, crafting and exploring the varied nooks and crannies that New England has to offer. Laure and her family share a split level Eisenhower with their two Maine Coon cats, Cecil and Katie Mona, who insist they're actually little people with fur. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
This year I’m looking forward to spring, when my other hip will have been replaced and both legs are feeling good again. We have made a few plans for those wonderful days ahead, such as visiting Fort Western in Augusta, going to the Maine State Museum in that same town, heading for Wolf Neck State Park for some walking on “new” legs, and visiting various places up and down Maine’s coast where I’ll be able to walk on those “new” legs.
Since the mid-1960s, the French, motivated partly out of greed, partly out of a need to needle the United States and partly out of genuine dislike for the Mideast’s only democracy, have done everything in their power to appease tyranny rather than fight it, to prop it up rather than obliterate it.
Some books bore me. Some use language too difficult for my ‘umble brain to understand. But Grey uses language that catches my attention and moves me ahead. I also enjoy Grey’s giving his characters an accent, such as, “By golly! he’s heah in bed!’ from part of the tale.
At the airport, with all other passengers already on board, the check-in personnel took my passport. “Your Nigerian passport has expired,” she said. “I am afraid you can’t travel.” “Can I be barred from my country because of an expired passport?” I asked. “Let me check with my supervisor,” she said to me. Her supervisor told her to let me go if my US passport was current. It was. I cleared security and made the plane just when they were about to shut the door.
In this book, the full gamut of human struggle is arrayed yet guideposts of hope and achievement are marked along the sojourner’s way. Each chapter focuses on either a prophet or apostle and a particular struggle that challenged him in life and discussion of how growth came through adversity. Inadequacy, fear, loneliness, disappointment and grief are just some of the topics touched upon; at the end of each chapter, Dr. Tweedie includes scripture references and a series of contemplative queries of self-examination for the reader.
In 1993, Senator John Kerry and the US foreign policy establishment were convinced that Arafat — a role model for international terrorism — would respond to Israel’s unprecedented Oslo Accords concessions by “transforming himself from lawlessness to statesmanship.” However, their assessment was discredited by an unprecedented wave of Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas-engineered hate-education, incitement and (the resulting) terrorism, which still persists today.
During the October, 1947 Pan-Arab Summit, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Abdul Rahman Azzam, stated: “The establishment of a Jewish state would lead to a war of extermination and momentous massacre, which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacre and the Crusades…. This war will be distinguished by three serious matters… the shortest road to paradise… an opportunity for vast plunder… avenging the martyrdom of Palestinian Arabs.”
Government does not produce anything of value, so why do politicians, who claim devotion to public service, deserve money or power? This is why Americans identify with Mr. Trump. Many Americans view Trump as having made his money the old fashioned way, through hard work and risk at the top tiers of the world market. A politician may get a highway or airport named after them, but they didn’t build that.
In this report is it claimed that scientists have now discovered that people with Neanderthal ancestry (and God only knows how often I have been called a Neanderthal by the PC witches), can suffer from a genetically related addiction to nicotine, and a greater risk of depression. Now it stands to reason that if Gays get a free pass because ‘they can’t help themselves, it’s all in their genes,’ then I too can’t help myself. I need a cigarette from time to time
I sensed that we should do a season on the prophets because each had a unique story: some felt inadequate, some were fearful and each one had to overcome certain things in order to serve God. So, as I prepared the themes and the scripts for thirteen episodes, I began to see myself in some of their stories as most people probably could. When each series is produced, and filming completed in Israel, we return home to do the editing process.
Patrick J. Fornari was born and raised in Indiana, and spent the first half of his three plus decade construction career working in the Midwest and Western United States, including Illinois, Wyoming, Washington, Colorado, California and Arizona. For the second half of his career, he worked construction on several Caribbean islands, giving him a unique perspective on his home country. Fornari currently lives in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
This book of “historical fiction” based on the “Vietnam” debacle, was somewhat overwhelming, mostly due to the amount of pages. However, personally having had two brothers, one with the CIA and the other with the NSA, having served the American Military in the exact same areas mentioned in Mr. Jackson’s story, I couldn’t wait to read this book.
I’m not American and so I am in no position to be telling Americans what they ought and ought not to be doing, but I can’t help but wonder about the greatest arms nation on earth which, despite its Second Amendment, is seeking to take away the constitutional rights of his citizens. The anti-gun lobby would have you believe that there is no other way to kill, maim and murder other than by using guns and so if we get rid of guns then there will be no crazed gunmen and no senseless deaths. Sorry folks! Guns are not allowed in China but that doesn’t stop people committing acts of terror and murder!
The mother was reassuring the daughter that she was loved. However, the daughter asked the mother some simple questions about her friends, her school and her hobbies and the mother could not answer them. With tears in her eyes, and her daughter’s eyes, the mother realised that she had some adjustments to make to her work schedule to improve her family.
Martyn Gabe’s book ‘The Moral Vacuum’ is a bold, audacious, pointed, accusatory, well researched and up-front perceptive of the totalitarian manipulation of western society by that incestuous ‘ménage-a-trois,’ Big Business, Government and Media. I loved it after eight pages
I would have to guess and say that my favorite section was No. 99 “Why you shouldn’t read the news,” but then again I seem to recall that there was a section which told me that I would naturally be influenced by the last section of any reading material. I can’t remember. The book provides so much instruction and advice on the myriad of ways that our minds and emotions work and how they lead us into making unwise decisions.

The rain and the massive flooding of the tunnel network by the Egyptian army has led to a vast chain reaction of collapsing tunnels. Egypt has been pumping salt water from the nearby Mediterranean into the tunnels for more than a year, creating a huge mess as the water rises to the surface. Hamas officials are saying the flooding contaminates water supplies, destroys farmland and spreads disease.
They claim that the most conservative republican is the candidate Republicans should run. They have decades of credibility at stake if Trump were to win the presidency. However, they face a problem they didn’t anticipate in that Trump’s basic platform consist of three very conservative planks; border security, the economy and the military. All three add up to one overarching concern; security. Without, border, economic and military security a country can be distracted to a point that threatens collapse, as are some in Europe.
Ironically, the agency was on-site to identify and stanch a leak of contaminated water within the mine. But officials wound up dislodging a plug of material that kept the toxic water dammed up. Out came a deluge of chemical-laced waters, pouring into a river that serves as a drinking-water source for thousands of residents in Colorado and other states.
Unfortunately (and even today in the Christian world this still applies), people mistakenly believe that they can ‘earn the grace’ of God by doing those things which a righteous man does. The fallacy in this type of thinking is obvious when you consider how many (self-proclaimed) righteous, loving, tolerant, non-discriminatory, immigrant welcoming, anti-Trump’s wall, anti-homophobic and anti-islamophobic people there are in the world who would not for a moment hesitate to beat you up, shout you down, hound you, stalk you, curse you, call for your death, seek to have you fired from your job and generally act like nazis toward you simply because you voted for Donald Trump.
When counter protesters set out to impede, provoke and confront an opposing ideological group, what results is what one would expect to result and only the idiotic, mindless, anally retentive and just plain stupid person would claim that it is not their fault that the protesters got upset or took action against them. But who are we kidding here? Counter protesters don’t believe in righteousness or otherwise. They are just rabble – SS troopers – sent in to do their master’s bidding. Give them all a baton and gun and see how quickly they will turn into killing machines to rid society of all its evils – starting with Donald Trump of course!
Mao Wenwen reminded me that when she was my student I would often refer to her as Mao Zedong. I do that sometimes – calling students by the names of famous or infamous people. Paying honor to me as her English teacher Mao Wenwen provided me the coffee free of charge (courtesy of the management). She also invited Johnny and me to come inside and take a look around, and once I did, I decided that I wanted to come back to take photos. Receiving permission from the owner, all I needed was the chance to get back.
I’m sure if you understand what Sociology is that you would find my statement rather strange for it leads to the question of what impact the King’s Calendar Research Result has on society and societal problems. But before we go look at that aspect, I want to talk about the personal aspect – MY aspect.
The demolition came as row between the church and government escalated over allegations the church refused to pay a £450 arbitrary road usage fee. Pastor Zhang Di was summoned for questioning last month and accused of assaulting police officers and attacking a village official. So when I read reports as in the link you sent and see the ACTUAL TRUTH in the middle of the article, I know that there is a lot more going on than is being reported.

BenDedek originally created the site to publicize his research results into the Chronology of Ancient Israel. Those results were published under the title: 'The King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran.' Whilst there have been many attempts to solve the chronological riddle of the Bible's synchronisms of reigns of the kings of Israel and Judah and their synchronism with other Ancient Near Eastern Nations, no other research is based on a simple mathematical formula which could, if it is incorrect, be disproved easily. To date, no one has been able to dismiss the mathematical results of this research.
Free to air Academic articles set forth Apologetics for and results of his discovery of an "artificial chronological scheme" running through the Bible, Josephus, the Damascus Documents of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Seder Olam Rabbah. Definition: King's Calendar Chronological Research
The Premise: Between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE (but continuing down to at least 104 BCE), Sectarian redactors transcribed the legitimate 'solar year' chronological records of Israel and Judah, into an artificial form, with listed years as each comprised of 12 months of 4 weeks of 7 days, or 336 days per year, thus creating a 13th artificial year where 12 solar years existed.
When the Synchronous Chronological Data provided in the Books of Kings and Chronicles for the Divided Kingdom Period are measured in years of 336 days, the synchronisms actually align. [Refer to Appendix 5. to see how it synchronises the Divided Kingdom Period]
