United Nations Anti-Semitism: Politically Correct Deceit and Bias: Israel Bashing: It seems rather strange that the United Nations staff fear for their lives, when in Palestine at least, the United Nations (and the rest of the world so it seems), think that all the problems, violence and poverty in Palestine is caused solely by Israel, and that Palestinian 'soldiers' are brave freedom fighters. So innocent are the Palestinians in the eyes of the United Nations, that the outraged United Nations is treating Israel in a way that no other nation on earth is or has been treated.
In China, fireworks always accompany special events, and so it seems fitting that the New UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was given a fine military salute on his recent surprise trip to Baghdad. The surprise was ultimately his.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was left shaken but unhurt after a suspected rocket exploded, sending shock waves through a building where he was giving a news conference.
The surprise trip came against the backdrop of more violence. Three US soldiers were reported killed and rival Shi'ite gunmen clashed in Basra, Iraq's second city whose oil fields are the source of most of the country's wealth.
The UN has been operating in Iraq at greatly reduced levels since international staffers were withdrawn in October 2003 following an attack on their headquarters.
The new UN Secretary-General is not the only United Nations VIP to get a surprise as he runs around the world doing his duty. United Nations mission chief in Gaza recently had his own brush with death when Palestinian gunmen fired upon his convoy. UN mission chief attacked in Gaza : March 16. 2007
Three masked Palestinian gunmen fired on a vehicle carrying the chief of the UN refugee mission in Gaza and tried to kidnap him, the UN official said.
No one was hurt in the kidnap attempt in northern Gaza
"They tried to force open the car, but our driver extracted himself from that situation," and sped away as the gunmen continued firing, he said.
The vehicle was clearly marked with the UN insignia and a UN flag, he said. Eleven bullets pierced the car, Ging added.
UNRWA has about 11,000 staffers operating in the Gaza Strip, - includes eight foreigners, - Ging said his agency would consider scaling back its foreign staff.
I found it interesting that in both these articles, the level of violence and threat to the lives of United Nations Staff, has resulted in the withdrawal of some staff - 'for their own protection.'
It seems rather strange that the United Nations staff fear for their lives, when in Palestine at least, the United Nations (and the rest of the world so it seems), think that all the problems, violence and poverty in Palestine is caused solely by Israel, and that Palestinian 'soldiers' are brave freedom fighters. So innocent are the Palestinians in the eyes of the United Nations, that the outraged United Nations is treating Israel in a way that no other nation on earth is or has been treated. Proposed U.N. Human Rights Mandate To Probe Israel 'A Disgraceful Abuse Of Power'
New York, NY, March 19, 2007 'The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called a proposal for the United Nations Human Rights Council to create a mandate by which to permanently probe Israeli violations of international law, "a disgraceful abuse of power and an affront to the very concept of human rights."
"Once again, the human rights mechanisms of the United Nations are inordinately focused on alleged Israeli violations while ignoring or downplaying the most serious human rights crises around the world," said Glen S. Lewy, ADL National Chair and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "To use the U.N. Human Rights Council as an institutional bludgeon against the state of Israel is a disgraceful abuse of power and an affront to the very concept of human rights."
The new U.N. organization charged with protecting human rights spends all its time attacking Israel.
The resolution authorized a special session of the UNHRC to focus solely on Israel and that the issue should be on the agenda of all subsequent UNHRC meetings.
Those vicious Blackbooted SS type Apartheid loving Israelis appear somewhat unjustifiably to believe that the United Nations is Prejudiced against Israel. (United Nations Erases Israel from the Map.)
from 1950 to 1956 from Egyptian-held Gaza and from 1965 to 1967 by Fatah, from behind Syrian and Jordanian lines. The UN observers would report on the terrorist attacks against Israel and on Israel's responses. Any attempt to condemn Syria, for example, for allowing terrorist attacks would be blocked by a Soviet veto, while Israel would be subject to complaints in response to its retaliations.
Over a 23-year record that continues to this day, UNIFIL has been a classic example of how UN forces act as a sieve -- letting through attacks against Israel but subjecting Israel to scrutiny for responding to those attacks. Former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dore Gold recalls the standard pattern: "Hezbullah would launch artillery attacks 50 meters away from a UNIFIL outpost, Israel would shoot back, and UNIFIL would protest against the Israeli response."
People are entitled to their opinions on all topics, but on the topic of Palestine it seems that the world believes that it is Israel's fault that the Palestinians do not have their own State. My mind is a little fuzzy on this issue I must admit, but I seem to remember that the Arabs refused to have a Palestinian state way back in 1948. Did I get that right? Anyway, according to some people, the popular belief that there is no Palestinian State is just semantics. Women For Israel's Tomorrow : Welcome to Palestine by Caroline Glick January 30, 2007
Leaders worldwide are so busy speaking of how essential it is for a State of Palestine to be founded that none of them seems to have noticed that it already exists. And it is a nightmare.
In the State of Palestine 88 percent of the public feels insecure.
two-year-olds are killed and no one cares.
Children are woken up in the middle of the night and murdered in front of their parents.
Worshipers in mosques are gunned down by terrorists who attend competing mosques. And no one cares.
No international human rights groups publish reports calling for an end to the slaughter.
No UN body condemns anyone or sends a fact-finding mission to investigate the murders.
In the State of Palestine, women are stripped naked and forced to march in the streets to humiliate their husbands.
Ambulances are stopped on the way to hospitals and wounded are shot in cold blood.
Terrorists enter operating rooms in hospitals and unplug patients from life-support machines.
In the State of Palestine, people are kidnapped from their homes in broad daylight and in front of the television cameras.
Speaking to The Jerusalem Post, reporter Ala Masharawi explained, "No one goes outside, no one moves without thinking twice. Gaza's streets have become terrible streets, especially at night. Gaza is a ghost town."
As Samir Qumsiyeh, owner of the Beit Sahur-based private Al-Mahd (Nativity) TV station lamented, "I believe that 15 years from now there will be no Christians left in Bethlehem. Then you will need a torch to find a Christian here."
As Ibrahim Gambari, the UN under-secretary-general for political affairs, noted last Thursday, official Western aid to the Palestinians, not including Arab and Iranian support for Hamas and Fatah, increased by 10 percent in 2006 over 2005, and stood at $1.2 billion.
The Palestinians, who receive more aid per capita than any people on earth, are needy not because they lack funds. They are poor because they prefer poverty, violence and war to prosperity, peace and moderation. So it is that 57 percent of Palestinians support terror attacks against Israel.
The multitude of protesters worldwide who demand an end to the so-called "occupation" and the establishment of Palestine should be made aware of the fact that Palestine already exists. The hordes of political leaders mindlessly squawking about "visions" and "two-state solutions" should know: This is Palestine. Enter at your own risk.
In September 1948, in the midst of the War of Independence, which came as the Arab world and the Palestinian Arabs launched a war of extermination against Israel rather than accept the UN's partition of the country, the UN mediator Count Folke Bernadotte explained that without "economic union" between the Arabs and the Jews the plan was anyway doomed to failure because of the "justifiable doubts concerning the economic viability of the proposed Arab state."
....There is no peace process, only a war process. And if we do not recognize this fact and fight, we shall soon begin to bury more innocents whose lives will be sacrificed because we were too stubborn to acknowledge reality.
There were 935 reported incidents of anti-Semitism in Canada in 2006 - representing a 12.8 percent rise from the previous year, a four-fold increase over the past 10 years
When 42 synagogues were vandalized this year, it's not even a news item anymore," he told The Jerusalem Post by phone from Toronto on Wednesday.
"Jews are increasingly preoccupied with security. There are guards at synagogues now, and Jewish institutions are getting bullet-proof windows."
they began to be reported in new places, "such as fitness clubs, doctor's offices and other relatively benign places."
Though Canada's Jews make up some 1% of the nearly 33 million Canadians, they remain at the top of police hate crime reports, often taking first place.
While police figures for 2006 are still being compiled for most of Canada's regions, those for the Peel Region, north of Toronto, show that in an area with 2,635 Jews and 53,470 Muslims in a general population surpassing 1.1 million, Jews were the targets of hate crimes in 29% of cases, followed closely by blacks with 27%. Muslims, despite popular perceptions of their victimization, were targeted just 8% of the time, the report found.
What is rather interesting about the United Nations position on Israel, is that the United Nations itself, by both omission and comission, (and this quite apart from non life threatening issues), is extremely guilty of 'non-humanitarian' behaviour. UN troops reported to be raping and abusing children January 3. 2007
UN peacekeepers and civilian staff were raping and abusing children as young as 12 in southern Sudan.
sexual exploitation of local youths in southern Sudan emerged within months of the peacekeepers' arrival in March 2005.
Sexual abuse charges have surfaced for decades in UN peacekeeping missions
It has disciplined 179 soldiers, civilians and police since then but acknowledges minors and the poor are still exploited.
The Sudanese military blocked him from entering a camp for displaced people in Darfur on Sunday, in an incident he called symptomatic of the problems aid organisations face in the area. According to the UN, at least 200,000 people have been killed and more than two million displaced in Darfur since the conflict erupted in February 2003. Some sources say the death toll is much higher.
In an article entitled: Children are Dying in Gaza: Media Not Interested! which I published in my column at Magic City News, I drew attention to the different treatment given by the media (you can include the UN in this) to the same types of offenses. If the offenses are committed by the Palestinians there is no outcry. If by Israel, all hell breaks loose. But such behaviour is not just limited to those outside of Israel. After recent revelations in Israel that reported rape cases were a form of nationalist vengeance, the question was raised as to why all the humanitarian groups have taken no interest. Raping as 'resistance': By Yisrael Medad
A good friend of mine, Edva Naveh of Sha'arei Tikva in Samaria, made an interesting observation recently concerning the gang of Beduin youths who, according to their indictment, committed a series of rapes in the Galilee area. She was struck by reports in the Hebrew media - YNET, for instance - saying that the rapes were perpetrated as a form of nationalist vengeance against IDF operations in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
Now if it's true that these were "terrorist rapes," Edva wondered why feminist organizations in Israel which devote themselves to combating rape, harassment and trafficking in women appear to have ignored the entire matter.
HOWEVER, Edva asked, why hasn't the feminist community addressed - or at the very least investigated - the matter of Jewish women allegedly being raped out of nationalist motivation?
Millionaire Ofer Glazer and MK Yoram Marciano have been pilloried by them for reported sexual improprieties. Actor Rami Heuberger is being criticized. But the behavior of the young residents of Galilee has been largely ignored by the feminists.
What about humanitarian groups here and abroad which define themselves as liberal, left or progressive? They've been rightly vociferous in condemning rape used in the course of war, as in Bosnia, Rwanda, the Congo and Darfur. Why the apparent silence in this instance?
Not only does it seem that if crimes are perpetrated upon Israel and Israelis that no one gives a damn, but further, that our idiotic western multicultural beliefs empower us to consider that anything Muslims do or say is OK. It is just 'we' who have no such rights. Fortunately for us, there are many Muslims in the world now speaking up and out against the violence within the Muslim world. Palestinian Media Watch Bulletin - March 15, 2007Some Imams incite to kill women, beat children by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook
Dr. Nadir Sa'id of Bir Zeit University condemned the violence in Palestinian society and placed the blame on the political and religious leaders. He blamed both Fatah and Hamas
He condemned some Imams who preach the killing of women and beating of children. He criticized these actions, as well as the hate incitement that has created a Palestinian society permeated with violence. Children have learned that the use of violence achieves power and influence.
This self-criticism is rare in the PA media. The following are some of Sa'id's criticisms by topic
Dr. Nadir Sa'id, director of Development Studies at Bir Zeit University:
"The message to Palestinian children is that if you use violence...you can achieve influence and you can achieve rule."
"A whole generation was raised on the denial of the 'other' and erasing him completely, and to the possibility of killing him without any restraint or problem.?
"There are Imams who incite to killing: killing of women, beating children, killing the 'other.'"
"What happened in Palestine in the last years is speech incitement of the highest degree. Violence speech of the highest degree in mosques, and occasionally in the media, from many politicians."
There is no denying that crime, in general, needs environmental conditions, and especially environmental conditions of violence and environmental conditions of incitement speech."
"There is a kind of conspiracy not to punish the criminals. Hundreds of Palestinians were killed in the recent struggle between Fatah and Hamas?Who will punish those who gave the orders? Who will punish those who committed [the crimes]? Who will punish the people who remained silent...?"
"The next government [of Hamas with Fatah] is a crime against Palestinian society."
"The prime minister and many of the ministers and security apparatuses are the ones who eased and facilitated the killing of hundreds of Palestinians."
"Who will punish those who caused the killing of these children, these women, these men this is a political crime of the highest level."

Fortunately for me personally, in Australia the Muslim community has also begun to speak out against the violent nature of Islamic clerics. Sunnis urge Muslims to denounce mufti
A SUNNI Muslim community group has called for all Australians, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to denounce outspoken cleric Sheik Taj al-Din al-Hilali.
Darulfatwa, or the Islamic High Council of Australia has distanced itself from the controversial cleric, who last week sparked outrage with comments on an Egyptian chat show.
"Australian Muslims must take every opportunity to denounce the Hilali as their leader, including those at the Lebanese Muslim Association, while non-Muslims can support their fellow Muslim friends by not recognising or labelling the Hilali as a mufti to Australia's Muslim community."
There are some who think that The West Must Disconnect from the Islamic World, but I hardly think that is necessary. What we really need to do is to wake up, shake off the Political Correctness and Multiculturalism rubbish, and enter the real world. The world, while pretending to get upset at discriminatory remarks made by people like Mel Gibson actually seems to hate Israel so much that it is reluctant to open it's eyes to what the criminals in Palestine are really doing, and seem altogether deaf to the cries of the real Palestinians. Despite United Nations claims that it is Israel who is imprisoning the Palestinians, the real culprits are the Palestinian war mongers and criminals running free on the streets. Gaza Strip virtually 'imprisoned' : March 23, 2007
A UN human rights expert today accused Israel of turning the Gaza Strip into a virtual prison under an apartheid-like occupation of Palestinian territories.
"Gaza remains an imprisoned society into which the prison guards have made frequent military incursions, killing hundreds of Palestinians and wounding thousands in the second half of 2006," said John Dugard, the special rapporteur on human rights for the Palestinian territories.
Israel has long refused cooperation with the UN special rapporteur because his mandate does not extend to examining violations of Israeli rights by Palestinians, including suicide bombings and rocket attacks.
As the politically activated humanitarians constantly scrutinize everything done in Palestine by Israel, and jump up and down about what rotten sods the Israelis really are, they seem not to be aware of what the Palestinians themselves are saying about the state of affairs in Gaza. Palestinians: We don't deserve a state By Khaled Abu Toameh Feb 4.2007
"Everyone here is disgusted by what's happening in the Gaza Strip," said Shireen Atiyeh, a 30-year-old mother of three working in one of the Palestinian Authority ministries. "We are telling the world that we don't deserve a state because we are murdering each other and destroying our universities, colleges, mosques and hospitals. Today I'm ashamed to say that I'm a Palestinian."
Ayman Abu Khalaf, a 40-year-old businessman, said he was seriously considering moving with his family to Jordan because of the growing state of anarchy and lawlessness in the PA territories.
"The situation is very dangerous and many people are afraid to leave their homes," he said. "I'm very worried about the safety of my children. There are many armed gangs and everyone is afraid. If the situation does not improve, I will take my family and go to Jordan. This is not the Palestine we want to live in."
Whilst the world and particularly the United Nations focuses on those miserable segregationist Israelis, it seems that they simply can't see the Palestinian leadership and their goons as anything other than peace loving poor souls who are longing for the day when they can walk the streets of their homeland without fear. It seems that the politically motivated can't read what is clearly written in the press. Fighting rages in Gaza despite truce
The truce was supposed to end factional fighting that has left more than 60 Palestinians dead over the past two months, and was set to go into effect at 3 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
PA Foreign Minister Mahmoud Zahar of Hamas announced the agreement early Tuesday. Zahar said the agreement stipulated that all security forces must return to their bases, that suspects in killings were to be handed over, and that all hostages still being held - a number thought to be in the dozens - were to be released. He also said all roadblocks set up by the factions were to be removed. None of those steps appeared to have been taken after the 3 a.m. deadline.
MEMBERS of a Hamas-led police force clashed overnight with gunmen loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction in a second straight day of factional fighting since the formation of a unity government.
But clashes broke out on Wednesday and spread after a series of abductions.
The most high profile abductee was local Hamas leader Hamdan Assufi, who disappeared on Wednesday.
In overnight violence, the house of a Hamas supporter in the northern Gaza Strip was set ablaze.
Hamas blamed Fatah and dispatched members of its Executive Force to the scene
In an apparent response, the furniture shop of a Fatah supporter was set on fire.
Earlier, unknown gunmen hijacked a UN vehicle. A UN convoy was attacked last week.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers clashed with members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, which is linked to Fatah, near the city of Hebron.
A two-year-old Palestinian child was killed during gunfights between Fatah and Hamas operatives in Gaza on Thursday night, local medical officials told news agencies.
According to Army Radio, one of the child's relatives was wounded in the clashes, as well.
GUNMEN shot and wounded a senior Hamas commander, his wife and two of their children in an ambush in Gaza today, witnesses and hospital officials said.
Witnesses and hospital officials did not disclose the severity of his wounds or those of his wife but said the two children were in critical condition.
As I sit and ponder why it is that no one seems to recognise, know, or understand what really goes on in Palestine, I am reminded that for many who espouse truth, decency, honesty and respect for the law, these virtues they reserve not for themselves but for those against whom they set their sights. In this little snippet about a custody suit in a UK Family Court, we can see that for some people, any end justifies the means by which it is attained - and law and decency be damned. Lobby groups muddy family law : Bettina Arndt Feb 1 2007
FAMILY courts have always been known for dirty tricks but recent stories to emerge from Britain show gutter tactics have reached new lows. A father recently appeared in a UK Family Court, representing himself in a custody dispute. He made his argument, quoting a judgment sent to him by a well-known fathers' support group.
The opposing barrister pulled him up - claiming the case he had mentioned had never appeared in the law reports. The father was made to look a fool and a conman, and the angry judge warned him he could face up to $20,000 in court costs.
But when the source of the offending email quoting the forged case was finally traced, it turned out to have been sent by the wife's barrister ?who is now scheduled for a court appearance for perverting the course of justice.
We have a tendency to believe in causes, especially in good causes, but when those who claim to be seeking truth and justice begin to walk the path of lies and injustice, how can you put your faith in the cause?
It has been said by others and certainly by myself, that many animal liberationists care more about animal life than human life, and yet, according to one story this week, it appears that they don't actually care about any life. Berlin Zoo's baby polar bear must die: activists - Mar 21 2007
"Hand-rearing a polar bear is not appropriate and is a serious violation of animal rights," Bild newspaper quoted animal rights campaigner Frank Albrecht as saying. "In fact, the cub should have been killed," he added.
Did you get that? The cub should have been killed! And here I thought that these activists cared about all of God's creatures, - sorry - about all the furry little fuzzballs that walk the earth.
When I read about things like this, I have to ask myself; 'What is it that motivates these political activists?'. Surely the animal lovers would have wanted the poor polar bear cub to live. Surely the Barrister had sufficient respect for the law so as not to indulge in illegalities in pursuit of the win. Surely those whose hearts constantly bleed for the Palestinians can see that the Israelis are just as much victims as the Palestinians. Surely they can see that the behaviour of Palestinian militants is nothing like the behaviour of the Israelis. We're very proud, bomber's family declares
Muhammad Faisal Saksak, 21-year-old suicide bomber carried out Monday's attack (Jan 2007) in Eilat
Muhammad's wife, Nadia, said "When I heard that he was martyred, I felt very proud of him"
The mother of Muhammad said she was aware of her son's plan to blow himself up and that she had wished him "good luck."
The mother of nine said she was proud of her son for carrying out the suicide attack.
Ruwaidah said she was prepared to "sacrifice" all her sons "for the sake of the Aksa Mosque and Palestine."
In our demented western multicultural sycophantic madness, are we really unable to understand that for many in the Muslim world, violence is a way of life. How is it that we can jump up and down over a few rashly spoken racist comments, but say nothing when we hear and see the worst aspects of 'ethnic culture'. Why is it do you think, that we care so little for victims of crime while our hearts bleed for the criminals? Why is it that the things we despise in our own culture, are acceptable when found in other cultures? Man who ripped wife's eyes out jailed : Nimes France March 21, 2007
A MAN who ripped out his wife's eyes in a fit of rage was sentenced by a French court to 30 years behind bars today.
Mohamed Hadfi, 31, tore out his 23-year-old wife Samira Bari's eyes following a heated argument in their apartment in the southern French city of Nimes in July 2003 after she refused to have sex with him.
"This is the result of a marriage that was arranged, not chosen," he said, pointing to the gulf separating his client, who came from southern Morocco, and his young wife, who had grown up in France. Mr Cabanes begged the jury for leniency, claiming his client's action "appeared to stem from a mental illness."
Why is it that in the west, Religion is constantly under attack, and yet we think it great to see an ever growing population of Muslims in our midst? Wherever they hail from, they are all religious people and as the Western Muslim populations have been growing, so too has been the call by many Muslims for Islamic Law. 40% of young UK Muslims want Shari'a
Young British Muslims are more likely than their elders to support Shari'a law and admire al-Qaida, but three-fifths of 16-to 24-year-olds say they have as much in common with non-Muslims as with Muslims, according to an opinion poll published on Monday.
Forty percent of Muslims between aged 16 to 24 said they would prefer to live under Shari'a law in the UK, compared to only 17% of those over 55. Thirty-six percent of the younger group said a Muslim who converted to another religion should be "punished by death," while only 19 percent of the older group agreed. Thirteen percent of young Muslims surveyed said they "admired" organizations such as al-Qaida and others who were prepared to "fight the West."
We get really upset at seeing a sculpture of the Ten Commandments in a court house; or irate when students hold a prayer meeting at school; or absolutely murderous when we hear Christians condemn homosexuals, and yet for some stupid reason, we fail to realise that by encouraging Muslims to settle in our countries, we are setting ourselves up for an inevitable religious society, far more strict than those pitiful Christians that we currently despise. CAIR Representing Flying Imams against Airline and Passengers By Sher Zieve
In other words, if Muslims stand up on planes shouting their prayers, make threatening comments against the US and voice their support of Islamic terrorists, the other passengers must remain silent and airline employees may not stop them.
The hypocrisy of political activists today, is that in their pursuit of an especially protected agenda, they have seen fit to ensure that no person might ever say any negative thing against anyone at all. This comes under the blanket heading of Political Correctness which is currently attempting to fortify itself throughout the world by the introduction of Hate Speech Laws which ultimately lead one into a totalitarian state in which no person can use any word not approved of by the government. (In the USA recently, a call for the introduction of Hate Speech Laws included a call to list the term 'illegal aliens' as hate speech).
The rising hypocrisy of the United Nations and it's political activism, is that in it's attempt to make of itself something noteworthy; to gain the support of those who can empower it, it has become a bigoted hypocritical farce eager to pretend to believe obvious lies and play a game of "let's pretend we are righteous". This of itself is nothing and not worth the time it took to write it, but this behaviour will inevitably lead to catastrophe as might be seen in Spain's capitulation to the demands of terrorists. Spanish Lessons in Appeasement : By Aaron Hanscom : 19 March 2007
In a video issued this month by the Global Islamic Media Front, a hooded man warns that the presence of Spanish troops in Afghanistan "exposes Spain again to threats."
So much for Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero's assurances that the withdrawal of Spanish troops from Iraq would make the country safer.
In fact, the terrorists' very last message called for the end of the supposed "truce" earned after Spain's withdrawal from Iraq. Spain's continued military commitment to Afghanistan was reason enough to continue the jihad in Spain.
Last month he exhorted Islamists in the Maghreb -- the northwestern part of Africa where 80 % of the 300 terrorist suspects arrested in Spain since March 11 come from -- "to once again feel the soil of Al Andalus beneath your feet." Previously Zawahiri had called for liberating Muslim land "from Iraq to Al Andalus."
Caving in to terrorists' demands only emboldens them and doesn't even earn you a respite from their threats of violence.
We in the west have created a noose for our own necks. We've let activist groups corner us into cowering in the corner lest anything we say or do result in if not criminal charges, social disgrace and stigma. They have done this for their own purposes and in the process have trapped themselves as well. How can a group that calls for open acceptance of different cultures, allow themselves to speak evil of an 'outside' culture? They cannot take part in nor condone the rejection of strange cultures or practices lest the society which they themselves created turn on them as well. Thankfully there are some in the world who speak out from within those different cultures to warn us of what lies within. The Infidel : By Alvaro Vargas Llosa
Hirsi Ali became world famous in 2004, when Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered by an Islamic fundamentalist for making a documentary critical of Islam. The killer pinned a note to his victim's body with a death threat against Hirsi Ali, who had collaborated with him. She had taken refuge in Holland after a life of oppression under her Islamic family, made worse by her native Somalia's clan-based structures and forced relocations to Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Not only was she a devout Muslim, but she had been a close sympathizer of the Muslim Brotherhood, the fundamentalist movement that was sweeping the region. After escaping to Holland to avoid an arranged marriage, she became a Dutch citizen and began to speak out against the culture of oppression affecting women in the Islamic world. She denounced "multiculturalism," in which Western countries tolerate and encourage -- often at taxpayers' expense -- cultural practices among immigrant groups even when they violate individual rights.
This is not the enemy of Muslims speaking, but a conscience that came to value individual freedom above loyalty to clan and obedience to the Koran, precisely because she saw the suffering of those among whom she was raised.
"I could no longer," she says, "avoid seeing the totalitarianism, the pure moral framework that is Islam. ... True Islam, as a rigid belief system ... leads to cruelty."
The fact that Western guilt has made it fashionable to support cultural groups that oppress their members in the name of "multiculturalism" is one powerful reason we all need to be reminded that free societies did not come about by luck, but through the painstaking trial-and-error process that selected those values and institutions that best protected freedom.
We today who profess a rejection of God and religion whilst simultaneously proclaiming a love for democracy and free speech, have gradually turned into hypocrites whose actions are calling for a totalitarian society that will tell us what to say and do. What is ultimately ironic, is that if Muslim culture in particular takes hold in the west and gains political power, the political activists who pushed us down this slippery path toward totalitarianism, will be the first ones to be done away with, for not only can one not rant against God's appointed without receiving in the flesh punishment for the offense, but many of these same political activists belong to groups considered anathema within Muslim culture.
And so today, as we fearfully walk along not willing to make of ourselves hypocrites by reneging on some of our highbrow social agendas, we have begun the slide into a madness that first commences with our refusal to see what is clearly before our eyes and to hear what is clearly spoken in our ears, and which then rushes headlong into blatant hypocrisy that self justifies by the slimmest of threads. Deceitfully claiming that we are not prejudiced against Jews but like the United Nations, walking a righteous politico/legal path in opposition to Israel and in support of the poor Palestinians, in reality we have merely found a politically correct way to say: 'Kill the Dirty Jews!'
unidentified assailants detonated explosive charges inside an Internet cafe in the town of Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip.
Wednesday's attack was the third of its kind in less than a week and the 48th in the past five months.
the attacks were the work of a radical Islamic group - Swords of Islamic Righteousness - believed to be an offshoot of al-Qaida.
Its members have also claimed responsibility for assaults on women whom they accused of being dressed immodestly.
"They are trying to impose strict Islamic teachings; they want a Taliban-style regime in the Gaza Strip. For them, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are too moderate in their views."
"The attacks on the Internet cafes and music shops are a sign of the cultural and intellectual deterioration in Palestine," he said.
Palestinian Authority officials on Thursday expressed fear that the United Nations may formally declare the Gaza Strip a dangerous zone - a move that would result in the evacuation of the remaining foreign nationals from the area and drastically hamper international humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
"The Gaza Strip is full of thugs and gangsters who are responsible for the ongoing anarchy. Soon the Gaza Strip may be declared a dangerous zone, which means that all international organizations would have to leave."
Muhammad Dahlan, who was recently appointed PA National Security Adviser, said it was time to admit that a "curse has hit" the Gaza Strip. "Anyone who does not admit that there's a curse in the Gaza Strip does not know what he's talking about," he said.
The UNHRC's resolution effectively delegitimized Israel's right to exist by denying that it has a right to defend its territory and its people from illegal aggression carried out by an illegal terrorist organization.
Mohamed ElBaradei, the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency's virulently anti-Israel chairman, announced a deal has been reached between Iran and the US, Russia and France regarding Iran's nuclear program.
But now that the administration has agreed to an accord that effectively transforms America into a facilitator of Iran's nuclear weapons program, the time has come for Israel to start voicing its objections.
Colonel Richard Kemp (the former commander of British forces in Afghanistan), who said, "From my knowledge of the IDF and from the extent to which I have been following the current operation, I do not think there has ever been a time in the history of warfare when an army has made more efforts to reduce civil casualties and deaths of innocent people than the IDF is doing today in Gaza."
Every time someone writes, speaks of Palestinians - a myth is reinforced
Israel eventually negotiated an armistice in 1949...
Arabs who left homes and property in Israel and many from other countries who joined Arab armies and did not want to return, remained in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, most as "refugees" under the care of UNRWA.
This heterogeneous population was called "Arab refugees," not "Palestinians," because at the time there was no such group, or people.
called "Arab refugees" was because there were many other refugees in Palestine,.. Hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees from Arab countries streamed into Israel. UNRWA offered no aid...
The designation "Palestinian" did not become widely accepted until after the war in 1967...
As the PLO launched mega-terrorist attacks around the world, "Palestinianism" became accepted, backed by the Arab League, Muslim and "non-aligned" countries, and the United Nations.
As the proportion of anti-Israel countries in the UN grew, "Palestinians" were given more and more recognition, support and legitimacy, unlike any other group.
And the fraud worked! It worked so well because the world's media accepted the Palestinians' self-definition and their cause.
Every time someone writes or speaks of "Palestinians" it reinforces this myth.
I was standing in that holiest of places, which generations of Jews for 2,000 years could only dream of visiting, I was forbidden to pray. Simply moving my lips in whispered prayer could be grounds for removal. Why? Because I am a Jew. And only a Muslim can pray on the holiest site in Judaism. A Jew may not.
DURING THE War of Independence in 1948, the Old City of Jerusalem fell to the Jordanians. Nearly 1,500 Jews, including many women and children, were killed.
In June 1967, when Egypt, Syria and Jordan embarked on a war to annihilate the Jewish state, Israel recaptured Jerusalem's Old City.
But then, in a mind-boggling display of attempted appeasement of an enemy that just days before had sought Israel's destruction, defense minister Moshe Dayan decided to allow the Muslim religious council, the Wakf, to retain administrative authority over the Temple Mount. Thus, a truly bizarre and unacceptable situation developed.
I think it is time for us to realise that there is something going on in the United Nations that is working within an agenda far removed from Democratic Principles and Personal Freedoms that we expect.
Definition: King's Calendar Chronological Research
The Premise: Between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE (but continuing down to at least 104 BCE), Sectarian redactors transcribed the legitimate 'solar year' chronological records of Israel and Judah, into an artificial form, with listed years as each comprised of 12 months of 4 weeks of 7 days, or 336 days per year, thus creating a 13th artificial year where 12 solar years existed.
When the Synchronous Chronological Data provided in the Books of Kings and Chronicles for the Divided Kingdom Period are measured in years of 336 days, the synchronisms actually align. [Refer to Appendix 5. to see how it synchronises the Divided Kingdom Period]
About the KingsCalendar Publisher
R.P.BenDedek is the owner and Editor of KingsCalendar.com which was originally set up to publicize his research results into the Chronology of Ancient Israel. Those results were published under the title: 'The King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran'.
Whilst there have been many attempts to solve the chronological riddle of the Bible's synchronisms of reigns of the kings of Israel and Judah and their synchronism with other Ancient Near Eastern Nations, no other research is based on a simple mathematical formula which could, if it is incorrect, be disproved easily. To date, no one has been able to dismiss the mathematical results of this research.
Free to air Academic articles set forth Apologetics for and results of his discovery of an "artificial chronological scheme" running through the Bible, Josephus, the Damascus Documents of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Seder Olam Rabbah.
During the current economic downturn, this book has been drastically reduced in price but will eventually rise as the economy improves.
