Today's congressional hearing on the events leading up, during and after the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, are revealing disturbing differences between what the Obama administration told the American public and what actual witnesses to the events are testifying to. Over 40 years ago .. days of televised Congressional hearings with the often repeated phrase: "what did the President know and when did he know it?"--- held the nation spellbound as politicians from both parties asked tough questions of the presidents staff.
The Obama administration still refers to the slaughter of American soldiers at Ft. Hood Texas by Major Hassan, as workplace violence, even though he had ties to radical Islam and he was uttering Allah Akhbar as he squeezed the trigger killing our unarmed soldiers... But Islamic radicals want to kill us in the name of their religion...Why? Because we are Americans. Boston was an act of war, not a criminal act.
It states that the dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing "environmental devastation" and warns about overpopulation, the widening gap between rich and poor, the extinction of species and depletion of the world's resources. It goes on to call for the emergence of a 'global civil society' and states that "our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected." The underlying philosophy of the Charter is a pagan one, whereby Mother Earth and nature are to be worshiped, and as such it opposes the Judeo-Christian belief that God is separate from his creation and man has dominion over the Earth," says Woodwardon.
Now I was sure I was in Maine. Go out of state and find somebody to tell you you don't owe anything. Just as I was finishing a sly little chuckle over all those guys jeans and boots, in came a couple more pairs of jeans and boots. These jeans and boots were under a bill hat that let me know the wearer was a Maine game warden. That's those guys who spoil other Maineiacs' hunting, when said hunting isn't precisely legal -- such as two deer in your pickup.
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the Goldwater Institute (among others) are telling Conservative state legislators that they can call for a Con Con and control the subject and the outcome of such an event. That is simply not true. First..instructions were completely ignored. As soon as the delegates arrived in Philadelphia, the doors were closed and the meeting was kept secret until finally they were opened to announce a complete new Constitution. That is a Precedent!... Second, the Articles of Confederation specifically called for 100% support from the states before any changes could be made to it. Obviously a new Constitution qualifies as a change! But ratification of the new Constitution operated under the yet un-ratified Article VII of the new Constitution, which called for a vote of approval of just three fourths of the states. That is a Precedent!
Once a Constitution has been ratified, it cannot be amended without the consent of the people. Neither the government in power nor its lackeys, whether it be in the Supreme Court or elsewhere have to the power to unilaterally make any amendments that in some way or form diminish the rights of a certain section of the population, by according them less rights than another group.
The proportion of voters who say that President Obama does not give strong enough backing to Israel is higher than it was in each of three similar surveys conducted for The Hill since May 2011. "Fewer voters find Obama's policy excessively supportive of Israel.... A slightly larger percentage of likely voters say Obama is generally anti-Israel [30%] than those who say that he is pro-Israel [28%]...." In the May and March, 2011 polls, 31% and 32% respectively said that the President was not supportive enough, while 27% and 25% respectively said that President Obama was too supportive of Israel.
Then began this so-called colonel's diatribe, in which he told me that I was an Orangeman, a WASP and Empire Loyalist and wanted to be an overlord of the Kebecois. I was aghast with his information, because even I did not know where all this questionable information had been gathered from and was really surprised at it. To crown it all, my father while serving in Palestine was a member of the Knights Crusaders of the Most Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, one of the highest orders of Catholic Knights. My father had also received the Crusaders Cross Medal from Pope Pius X in the early 1930s
Let's use some outcome based education for a change. If you are going to let a student burden him/herself with a huge debt in order to graduate from your school, you should have some skin in the game. Colleges should have to guarantee these loans, instead of laying that debt off onto taxpayers if the student defaults. Perhaps there would be a change in admissions, stricter standards and heavier counseling... We saw the problem that unfulfilled promises academic institutions made to students when our cities were clogged with Occupy Wall Street. Many of these young people expressed anger at their inability to find a job, a good paying job with the liberal arts degrees they possessed. They felt they were lied to by their education institutions...in a way they were
Time and again he was on his heels, contradicting himself and underscoring pre-existing doubts about his qualifications. In one defining moment he stated without equivocation: "I support the president's strong position on containment." But minutes later, after being handed a note, he awkwardly back tracked: "If I said that, I meant to say that obviously, his position on containment, we don't have a position on containment." Mr. Hagel hasn't spent much more than two years in the Army; 45 years ago. That does not qualify him to run the most complex armed forces in the world today." Unfortunately, if the last two presidential elections are proof of anything, during this period of American politics qualifications have little or no bearing.
Now, it would seem that the Mayor had assumed that he could apply a dress code to someone who he disliked. So that action by the Mayor was in violation of constitutional rights which the Mayor had absolutely no right to suspend. And that by taking such action put him in conflict with the law. In this case the Mayor even had the temerity to use the local police as a private force to undermine the constitutional rights of a citizen which was in violation of the law.... That the Cardinal had failed miserably when he did not defend the rights of English-speaking Catholics, and was openly was siding with his own race, that being Kebecois. If that is the case how can he be a shepherd of all Catholics?
When Shaman Catholic priests in Kebec have openly said that they would not permit the Holy Mass to be said in ENGLISH in their churches neither of the cardinals took action against those priests. For all we know the present line-up of small English-speaking parties, are a plot to destroy any viable attempt by REAL English-speaking groups to get justice in Kebec. Why would you the American people want to put your trust in a people whose only claim to fame is falsehood. To re-phrase George Washington's own words: Put none but Americans at work today!
The Constitutional County Sheriff's Association is in the process of publishing a list of the Constitutional County Sheriffs in individuals states who have taken an oath to seriously refuse to enforce laws that violate the Constitution such as gun laws being proposed by President Barack Obama and members of both houses of the U.S. Congress, according to Keith Broaders, the administrator for the CCSA, on Monday.
Oh! Montreal you have passed your prime as a once prosperous city, and become a derelict city that is being daily abandoned, and will one day soon is remembered for what it once was. What the Nazis did to the prosperous nation of Germany yesterday, the Metis Kebecois are doing to the province Kebec today. "Je me souviens!"
A key portion of the meeting was White House Domestic Policy Council (DPC) Director Cecilia Munoz outlining President Obama's overall immigration reform proposal that includes creating a pathway to citizenship for up to 11-million illegal aliens. In my discussion with the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Safety and Border Security, I mentioned that a potential "State of State Emergency" might be unfolding, and deliberate steps might have to be taken by the State of Arizona to protect its' own sovereignty and welfare."
LaPierre's suggestion for federal intervention in Chicago is a good one. Bring in federal police forces to help patrol the violent streets. Make it a national priority to protect the law abiding citizens of Chicago. When the criminals are taken off the streets, the percentage of gun violence will be drastically reduced. This same formula should be used to target other crime and violence plagued cities. Disarm and jail the criminals who use guns, enforce the existing gun laws.
Instead of rebuilding foreign countries with billions of our tax dollars, we should take those dollars and use them to protect our borders. A border fence would be a stimulus for our economy, create thousands of jobs in the construction industry, and help staunch the flow of drugs
Ordinary people are the first to make sacrifices, because they will take chances that might make the difference. But that cannot be said of the rich and opulent in a society that will make no sacrifices, and will do anything to protect their riches, even if it means to commit treason and sell their country short in the bargain.
ICE Director John Morton essentially gutted immigration enforcement by issuing a memo on prosecutorial discretion that, in effect, prohibits ICE agents and officers from arresting or removing any but the most violent criminal aliens. Under Morton's stated policy, most of the 12 million or so illegal aliens that the administration wants to legalize are currently safe from deportation.
But Thomas Jefferson, the then Secretary of State authenticated the Second Amendment as, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Okay, it's the same type of "right" as mine to drive. It shall not be "infringed."
Governor Huckabee mentioned he was subjected to a security background check while Governor of Arkansas, in order to be allowed access to National Homeland Security information. At the time, he was a sitting Governor, a politician... he had no problem complying with it. In fact he suggested all politicians be subjected to security background checks.
Sometimes caused by air, interior, or exterior, that may not be right. Or it could be from barometric pressure, worsening our chronic plight. But whatever the cause, the suffering is still always greater. We dare not move our head, though it feels heavier than a beached freighter! But from my sage old mother, she has just the cure for you! After all those endless and useless facial massages, disposed tissue boxes, and still desperate for that one clearing "AH-CHOO"!
The main stream media has been a willing accomplice to this administrations attempt to bury Benghazi and doesn't have the appetite to upset the apple cart of lies and deceptions. The absence of details as to exactly what happened before, during and after the Benghazi murders, is astonishing. Such as: Orders were given to not help Americans under attack in Benghazi. Who gave that order? Why?
Since the very Constitution belongs to the people, and not the government, neither the government not its appointed court judges have the power to suspend or abridge those constitutional rights, without the consent of the people, thus finding itself in flagrant breach of the law. But this goes on to show just how these minions of the justice system assume an omnipotence which is way beyond their jurisdiction. Thus judges are not elected persons and do not have more power than those elected to parliament or an assembly, and as such do not have the power to alter the Constitution in any way
"The Department of Defense (DoD) is facing more challenges today than I have seen in my lifetime. If sequestration goes into effect, we are facing the smallest Army since 1950 and the smallest Navy since 1915. While I believe that every single government agency has room to cut wasteful spending, I agree with current DoD Secretary Panetta that an across the board cut to defense spending will prove 'devastating,'"
On Christmas Eve 1962, while in Colombo, I got an unexpected invitation to the home of a Burgher family living just outside Colombo to spend Christmas Eve with them. We ran out of booze just after midnight, so I took a walk and managed to get my hands on a bottle of Arrack, and returned. The Vendt family consisted of a father, a mother, two sons and a daughter, and we all had a nice time listening to the radio that was playing Christmas Carols.
Are there calls for stopping, banning, regulating the use of these mind-altering drugs? Is the pharmaceutical industry being called on the carpet? Are there emergency congressional hearings being held to showcase the heads of big pharma as murdering criminals? Not on your life. To date, there has never been issued a single peer- reviewed scientific paper officially claiming to prove ADD/ ADHD exists. Nor has there ever been a single bit of physical evidence to confirm the disease exists. So-called experts on the subject have refused to answer the simple question, "is ADD/ ADHD a real disease?" Medical researchers charge that ADHD does not meet the medical definition of a disease or syndrome or anything organic or biologic.
Brennan's ideological ambiguity/confusion towards Islamic terrorism -- and his misrepresentation of Jihad and ignoring the dominance of hate education in the Muslim Middle East -- could be transformed into operational ambiguity/confusion in the battle against Islamic terrorism. As the Chairman of the Atlantic Council, Hagel has subscribed to the centrality of the UN -- which is not the home court of US interests - in the conduct of international relations. He does not believe in US exceptionalism in the international arena and espouses the superiority of multilateralism over unilateral independent US national security actions.
President Barack Obama wanted more drastic cuts. "If you look at what Mr. Obama prioritizes, he appears to be more interested in spying on American citizens and conservative groups than on Islamic terrorist organizations, drug cartels and those wishing to harm the U.S.," said political strategist Michael Baker.
"Once again, the Obama administration is being let off the hook in another scandal that would have caused a media frenzy in a GOP presidency. Once again, we have evidence of a biased news media coupled with a spineless opposition party," said former law enforcement and intelligence officer Sid Franes.
The striking new CIA disclosures that Jonathan Pollard, did not transmit information about the United States to Israel reaffirms that there is no justification for his continued incarceration after 28 years in prison. Unfortunately, the new CIA disclosures do not provide a legal basis for reopening his court case.
I was wearing a bright Yellow shirt with diamond patterns on it. So, I just took off my shirt and offered it to the African driver. He looked at me, in a way that I had never been looked at before and on his face was the brightest smile that I had ever seen. Even the Sun seemed dim in comparison to his smile. I bid him goodbye, and got into his truck and continued on his journey.
Thomas Jefferson warned us..."I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
The USS Maddox out on patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin area had assumed the we were a North Vietnamese Gunboat, rather than a British Merchantman on the high seas. And that it was attacking us, because it might have been an attacked on them. The USS Maddox then asked us where we were headed for. We told them we had cargo for Tsamkong and Shanghai, Red China. Their reply was too bad we missed, and then steamed away into the darkness of the early morning fog. That was the first day of the Vietnam War, which the U.S. launched against North Vietnam.
Reid then strongly recommended the movie to the public. I saw "Lincoln," myself, and I wholeheartedly agree, it was a worthwhile movie, and I even plan on seeing it again, but that aside, a movie rating coming from a US Senator (and obviously wannabe Hollywood critic) while on the job strikes me somehow as unethical, but then again, so is "recess" and "playtime" for adult leaders of the free world on the public dime! I can only guess that the sandbox would not hold 100 adults or perhaps the kitchen ran out of milk and cookies! And was nap time provided during intermission?
Bush and Baker opposed Inouye's amendment to upgrade the facilities of the Israeli ports of Haifa and Ashdod in the crucial eastern flank of the Mediterranean, for the benefit of the Sixth Fleet. During one of the exchanges with the Secretary of the Navy, Senator Inouye stated: "Under the US Constitution, Congress possesses the oversight authority, and as the Chairman of the Defense Subcommittee I've concluded that the Sixth Fleet would benefit from the upgrade." The port of Haifa was upgraded and became the most favorite port for Sixth Fleet repairs, maintenance, training and recreation.
And in my current capacity, I have recently worked quite a bit in Newtown, Connecticut, and in the village of Sandy Hook within it within the past couple years, and as recently as just a couple months ago. I know the village, the town, and the area. And while my waistline has expanded and my hair has grayed over the years, age also has had an effect of thinning some of that skin and dulling some of that edge. But none of that really matters, because what happened in that otherwise sleepy, bucolic little hamlet has shook even the most seasoned and hardened first responder to the core. No human being, let alone children, should ever have to endure the atrocity that occurred there, and no one should ever have to witness it, or ever have to deal with it or its aftermath, nor is any thinking, feeling human being probably even ever fully prepared to deal with it.
51 percent of our country's electorate has been effectively brainwashed by the news media, the entertainment industry, and the Democratic Party, which today has in every real respect become the Socialist Party in everything but name. Like so many zombies they blindly, even eagerly, follow Barack Obama, neither knowing nor caring where or to what they are being led. Sadly, by the time they realize they have voted away their freedom, they will be beyond caring.
1,177 service members killed at Pearl Harbor 71 years ago. Since 1945 the U.S. has effectively led the world, and from that position of strength we've redirected geopolitics. But our commitment to military dominance may be starting to wane. Our Army, for example, is getting smaller. We dropped to 551,000 active-duty soldiers this year, and deeper cuts are coming next year. At least another 80,000 will be departing, even though as many as 20,000 of them are eager to continue serving.
Libs pride themselves in saying "live and let live," yet who gives us all the nanny-state laws and regulations dictating how people privately use their own land (as in the Fourth Amendment), and for that matter, how we eat, drink, and smoke. Many liberal city and state bastions now dictate what and how much foods can contain, if any, fats, sugar, and salt, and now having won the war on indoor venues, are now dictating when, where, how, or even if we can smoke outside (while at the same time zealously championing the liberalization and legalization of both the medical and recreational use of marijuana in many jurisdictions). If women can have "choice" to butcher their young when they become inconvenient, why can't I have "choice" to wolf down a dozen doughnuts fried and drenched in far better tasting trans-fats when I'm hungry?
France had no real plans for its territory in North America other than to do trade with the North American Indians for furs. All those beautiful palaces that were built in France were funded mainly by money that came from the fur trade in North America. The people born in New France were simply the menial class of France and not artisans. Thus they did whatever they were ordered to do and no more.
Sheriff Arpaio, a cop who is hated by the Democrat Party's liberal-left wing, has often said his office "aggressively enforces all local, state and federal laws in order to combat the growing illegal immigration epidemic in Maricopa County." Arpaio's career is apparently coated in Teflon, with his candidacy surviving a federal investigation into corruption, a lawsuit into civil rights violations, and allegations by Maricopa County investigators that his department misused $99 million in jail funds.
Obama was miffed and declined conciliation with the Prime Minister for you guessed it, the settlement issue. Forget dinner, Obama presented Netanyahu with a list of 13 demands designed to end the feud with the Administration and to build Palestinian confidence ahead of the resumption of peace talks. Amongst the demands was a call to end all settlement construction in East Jerusalem, the Israeli capital. To most in the Israeli advocacy community, including this writer, the perception of a role change in American/Israel diplomacy was further accentuated and unmistakable. The President was no longer an impartial mediator but had become a principle to the dispute.
According to Meir Amit, al-Qaeda's bylaws written in 2002 state that the organization's second in command is supposed to succeed the leader (emir) should he be killed or captured without hope of release. Appearing in a video issued on June 8, 2011, a month after the death of bin Laden, al-Zawahiri promised the United States he would continue Osama bin Laden's path of jihad, thus positioning himself as bin Laden's heir although at that time there had not yet been an official confirmation of his appointment, which came eight days later.
The Spirit of 1774 is a holdover to our present time, because exactly 200 years after the INTOLERABLE "Quebec Act of 1774" did the problems of Canada really begin. In June 1974 the provincial government of Quebec brought forward Bill 22, to make Joual (French patois) the only Official Language of Quebec and remove English from its status as an Official language in the province.
"Chairman Issa in the House Republican side released a ream of documents that he asked for that included the names of people on the ground in Libya who are cooperating with us and helping us on these security issues jeopardizing their lives, carelessly, recklessly putting their lives at risk," Axelrod said on NBC's Meet The Press
A man way up in Danforth, actually who was known in those long-ago days when you could describe him such as the town drunk, said to me while we were in the general store, "I touched a moose and nobody believes me." He explained that he had canoed down the river, landed on a small island, and seen a moose standing still, just standing there. The man had walked up to the moose and touched its nose. It still stood there.I knew that in those days there was a nerve disease circulating through moose herds, which rendered them fairly helpless. They would just stand still, even if you didn't touch their noses.
US global leadership. Thou shall embrace US global leadership, underscoring US freedom of unilateral action, rather than subordinating US policy to multilateral considerations. The US - not the UN or any international order - is the dominant quarterback of international relations. US global leadership is critical for its economic, homeland security and military concerns. It bolsters posture of deterrence, providing a tailwind for allies, thus constraining clear and present threats posed by rogue/terrorist Islamic regimes. On the other hand, US withdrawal is interpreted as weakness, emboldening adversaries, weakening allies, fueling clear and present dangers and facilitating the recurrence of 9/11
Before leaving the dock, the Elizabeth Ann's captain, held up a lifejacket for us to see and even strapped it around himself. He explained that should we tip over -- maybe diesel-powered vessels don't tip over like our canoe doesn't because we're careful and cowardly about being in Maine's cold, cold water -- those life jackets would save our lives. I wondered why you just wouldn't hold onto the vessel as we would our canoe in the event it ever tipped over. Probably some Coast Guard rule.
About half way through this debacle, there was an interesting exchange on the economy and jobs. Romney castigated the President for misrepresenting his tax proposal as a gift to the wealthiest 3% of American small businesses. He correctly stated 97% of small businesses are taxed at less than 35% per cent whereas the remaining 3% employ half of all people that work in small business. Those are the businesses that employ one-quarter of all the workers in America.
In 1830, New York University Prof. George Bush, the great-granduncle of G.H.W. Bush, considered one of the most profound American scholars of the mid-19th century, published "The Life of Mohammed". He was not concerned about political correctness, was low on delusion and top heavy on realism. His 1830 reference to the Islamic threat was consistent with the 2012 state of intra-Muslim atrocities, hate-education, tyranny, anti-US stormy Arab winter, intolerance of criticism, global Islamic terrorism in general and suicide bombing in particular.
"These Christians may be on to something that the Republican Party candidate for President fails to address: Obama said over and over again that Obamacare would not mandate taxpayer funded abortions or force private entities to pay for the killing of unborn babies. As usual, Obama lied," said political strategist Michael Baker. The group claims that the reason given for their arrests is that the sidewalk in front of the White House is a "restricted zone" for free speech
But the sad part is that the infrastructure of Montreal has collapsed. Roads, highways and the raised sections of the overhead roads now fall in pieces or chunks on to the roads below, causing serious damage. The roads are now somewhat like an obstacle courses that one has to learn how to negotiate, or do damage their cars.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), a woman with credibility issues of her own explained, the exclusion of language recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital in the 2012 Democratic national platform as a "technical error" that had not been discussed at all during the drafting process.
Both conventions trotted out women and Hispanic office holders, and there were no real surprises here. The difference, however, was in tone. The general Republican tone was upbeat and positive. While Obama's policies were deservedly attacked, Obama himself was not. Candidate Romney, in fact, seemed to go to great length to point out that while Barack Obama was a good family man, he was a bad president
So, if a Democrat can't run on his record and his presidency was therefore unsuccessful, he then turns in desperation to the last Democrat president whose presidency was successful -- in this case, Clinton. This does not bother me personally; in fact, it amuses me more than anything else. What bothers me is the stubborn perception of Bill Clinton as having been a great president.
The Power of One by Tom DeWeese American Policy Center August 11, 2012
Barack Obama has the process backward. It first takes the power of one to see the ideas and create the tools that will benefit millions of others, who are then able to satisfy their needs and achieve their own dreams. But, in today's society, after an individual envisions it, and takes the risk to invest his own effort and resources, he then has to jump through endless government hoops to finally achieve it. Then government rushes in to tax it and regulate it, all for the "common good." Then to add insult to injury, that same courageous pioneer has to listen to the likes of Barack Obama telling the masses that the individual didn't do it -- the masses did.
Pericles - "we do not say that a man who takes no interest in politics is a man who minds his own business; we say that he has no business here at all." Obama: ""If You've Got a Business -- You Didn't Build That! Somebody Else Made That Happen.""
President Barack Obama made a similar revealing slip when he told business owners that they didn't build their businesses. "Somebody else did that," he told them -- meaning, of course, the government. What's half comical and half scary here, is that for the Comrade this isn't just a talking point. This is what he honestly believes -- and it may just end up being his Mondale Moment. If current polling is to be believed, practically all of Obama's attempts to smear Romney as an out-of-touch rich guy who outsources American jobs to foreign interests have come to naught. In poll after poll, Obama and Romney are separated by a margin of only 1-3 percentage points.
On average, approximately two million Americans save themselves or a third party from criminal attack every year by use of a firearm, and in most cases, without having to fire. And only a fraction of crimes are committed by legal gun owners. A feisty 71 year old guy (allegedly a retired police officer) charged the two thugs and put several shots into each of them before they panicked and fled. "Why was that old guy carrying a gun in the first place?" I replied, "Because the 2nd Amendment says he can, and thank God for those victims that he was."
It's time for Romney to take the offensive and begin attacking Obama for what he is, what he's done, and his associations. Let's look at the people he has brought into the White House upon his ascension to the Presidency. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, following Obama's $787 billion dollar spending program the unemployment set a new record of staying above 8% for the longest period since World War II; 36 months. America's first socialist president ingratiates himself to a constituency that he's made dependent upon him for ever increasing entitlements, regardless the cost. He believes larger, more intrusive government is the answer.
"Hope and Change" and "Change We Can Believe In" were in fact code phrases for communism. This is not a charge leveled lightly. It is based on a knowledge of who Barack Obama is, and what made him that way. It is based on the past associations that influenced him as a youth, and molded him into the man he is today. Specifically, it means the man Obama called his mentor during his developmental years: Frank Marshall Davis, a lifelong member of the Communist Party of the United States of America. It refers to perhaps the most evil genius our country ever produced, Saul Alinsky, author of Rules For Radicals, which would become Obama's bible. Even today this book, originally dedicated by its author to Satan (called Lucifer in the dedication), continues to serve as Obama's blueprint to marginalize and diminish his critics. It refers to communist sympathizer Valerie Jarrett, one of Obama's principal advisors, to former Communist Party member Van Jones, the one-time "Green Jobs Czar," to former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and to the Marxist professors from whom Obama deliberately chose to learn in his college days.
While in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama heavily opposed the "Infants Born Alive Protection Act" that was written to save babies still alive, despite a failed abortion attempt. Is it really any mystery now that this is the same guy who endangers religious liberty by mandatory federal contraception legislation? Does anyone really think that once government gets its foot in the door and on the throat of our religious liberty that it will not push further? There is a tragic and increasing trend that despite all the good charitable work the Church does, it is now more consumed with advocating government to do more rather than its laity. Here's a thought: let the Constitution govern the citizens and the Bible, the Catechism and canon Law govern Catholics. And Sister Campbell and her 13 inconspicuous avengers could better serve the poor by helping them themselves rather than trying to get the government to fulfill their vocational duties for them. Heads up, Sister, when the country's economy bottoms out, we'll all be poor! Would you really rather see that happen? And who will you complain about then?
In a recent SPLC report entitled, "30 New Activists Heading Up The Radical Right," I have been named along with what SPLC calls "Islamophobes," "Political Opportunists," "Religious Right Anti-Gay groups" and "Patriot groups." Says the report, "Most dramatically, so- called 'Patriot' groups -- which, unlike most hate groups, see the federal government as their primary enemy -- have grown explosively in just the last three years..." Of course they're talking about the Tea Party as a hate movement, and I'm pretty sure that's why I'm listed. In particular, they report on my efforts against Agenda 21, saying "DeWeese's outfit is only one of several obsessed with what has become one of the main conspiracy theories of the antigovernment 'Patriot' movement." This new report from SPLC is just the latest in a series of attacks against Conservatives and others who support the founding principles of the United States, dating back over the past few years.
Charles Krauthammer, suggested that Roberts resorted to this semantic legerdemain to avoid politicizing the Court and weakening its prestige. But the Court and America have weathered more violent partisan storms than those of the current climate: just read some of the broadsides in newspapers written one hundred to two hundred years ago. To my knowledge, no Congressmen have been caned to within an inch of their lives in the well of the Senate (though, no doubt, some have deserved it), and no cabinet secretaries killed in duels in the past 100 years. A good rule of thumb: follow the law and let the chips fall where they may.
The Continental Congress on January 20, 1776, gave permission to Colonel Moses Hazen, the Military Governor of Montreal to recruit an army from the local Metis population, which he carried out. Thus, Colonel Hazen created the 2nd Canadien (Canadian) Regiment, also called Hazen's regiment and they served throughout the Revolutionary War, and were even involved in the siege of York Town. On October 19, 1781, Lord Cornwallis surrendered to the Franco-American forces under General George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette. The 2nd Canadien Regiment was disbanded on November 15, 1783, two months after the Anglo-American Peace Treaty of Versailles.
Anderson Cooper is an accomplished journalist, and that is something he can and should be proud of, but he has no control over his sexual inclinations. Thus, to say he is proud to be gay is by definition ludicrous because he did absolutely nothing to bring that condition on, and it is nothing to be proud of in the first place. Cooper might as well say he is proud to have gray hair, assuming it's not dyed, and why dye hair gray anyway?
"Everything in moderation." And today's parents could well benefit from the prudent saying of St. Bernard (No, not the dog!),"Humility is the mother of salvation". The grandparents of today display a more cryptic, yet generic boast on their car bumpers: "Ask me about my grandchildren." No, thanks. As a matter of fact, you would first have my permission to tie me down, drill all my teeth without anesthesia and show me three hours worth of slides of your last vacation to the Jersey Shore before I would ever ask you about your lovely little grandrats!
Rosa Parks is defying the unwritten code of racial subservience. She is also defying Alabama law. The driver summons the police. They arrest Mrs. Parks and take her to jail. Viewed from one perspective, Ronald Reagan and Rosa Parks couldn't have been more different. He was the most powerful person in the world, commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States. She was one of the least powerful, an unknown black seamstress working in the back room of a department store in the deep South.
"Anyone who reads the words of the Founders," Brooks writes, "cannot miss their keen emphasis on the morality of the systems they intended to create. Our ideas about free enterprise and liberty were born from a sense of what is right and what helps us to thrive as people, not from a monomaniacal obsession with what makes us rich." Historian Matthew Spalding echoes this theme in his book We Still Hold These Truths: "As the Founders saw it, the right to property was not simply an economic concept, and was much more than owning a bit of land. It was a first principle of liberty. The essence of liberty is the freedom to develop one's talents, pursue opportunity, and generally take responsibility for one's own life and well-being."
Never mind "poll taxes," or for that matter, even ensuring the integrity of an election by requiring identification, if I was king, all the walking clueless, mouth-breathing, lemming sports and reality TV show sycophants would be greeted at the door to the polls with a 25 question quiz, based on current events, naming candidates and officials, the issues, and how our government works (something once taught in schools with a Constitution and a chalkboard, before it was replaced with a condom and cucumber). If you fail, you don't vote, period. Then again, I suppose if I was "king," no one would be voting at all anyway. Well, you get the drift.
People ask me how I started fighting Agenda 21. How did I learn so much? Henry Lamb is the answer. He was my mentor, my teacher, my friend. No one was more courageous or more driven to stand up for our unique Republic than Henry Lamb. Together we created Freedom 21, to organize official opposition to Agenda 21. We organized ten national conferences and produced DVDs featuring the speakers. They stand today as valuable teaching tools. Henry was a tireless advocate, traveling the nation to speak. Usually he drove in his well-worn van so he could sleep in it rather than pay for a hotel room. Somehow, Henry managed to organize an unofficial nationwide network of radio programs and was able to broadcast directly from the UN meetings, telling the nation what the UN was up to. UN officials responded by moving him out and away from the meeting area. It didn’t stop him. He kept going back and getting the word out to activist across the nation. Tommy Cryer claimed, among other things, that the law does not make him liable for income taxes, and that the Constitution does not authorize the Federal government to tax fees he personally earned. Rather than submitting to the usual one-sided tax court in which most Americans find themselves trapped, Tommy got a jury trial in open court, and he made his case. He was found NOT Guilty by all twelve jurors. The first to ever win on such grounds.
Alice Walker has now descended from the basic Sharpton type anti-white racism into the darker regions of overt anti-Jewish hatred. An accomplished writer like Alice Walker will surely understand how someone like me, a non-Jew and self-educated, might accuse her of anti-Semitism and intolerance by reason of her broad and very public condemnation of the State of Israel, a condemnation with the added punishment of depriving from anyone who reads Hebrew the freedom of reading her stirring novel The Color Purple. I would have thought that someone of her intellectual capacity could perhaps trust in Israel's Jews (a people not without a reputation for genius)--if it were so that their nation really is so evil--to find enough inspiration from her novel about "American apartheid" (to borrow her definition) to turn away from their own version of such pandemic racism.
Having stated that the Governor is one of the very first elected officials to take this action and that there is no play book to show him what to do next, the American Policy Center is calling on citizens to sign a 'Letter of Thanks' to Governor Bentley: If you care about protecting our Constitution and our way of live from attacks by the United Nations, then you must stand with Governor Bentley by signing and returning you "Letter of Thanks for Opposing United Nations' Agenda 21". The newsletter warns however that if Governor Bentley is left to fight alone, then he is probably doomed to be destroyed by the very powerful UN/Agenda 21 forces.
America is still stuck in the past. The whips, chains, fire hoses and nooses may be put away, but they are now replaced with quotas, rhetoric, political correctness, misplaced guilt and abject cowardice. Revenge has slipped in among us, cloaked in the Trojan Horse of "reform," but reverse discrimination, much like its previous form is still discrimination, and just as corrosive. The deceiving purple haze that envelops us won't change any time soon until we collectively fix our own self-imposed rectal-cranial inversion problem. (Work on that one for a minute. It'll come to you.)
The approximately 150 miles of trails are as varied and scenic as ever, and the Island Explorer buses allow circle hikes. Up one trail and down another. Not yet succumbing to GPS except to find corridor-boundary markers and recording their GPS settings along the Appalachian Trail (150 miles north of Acadia) as a Maine Appalachian Trail Club volunteer, I recommend a map that shows Acadia National Park's trails. The long southern part of Cadillac mountain, which the 3.5-mile South Ridge Trail follows from Route 3 to the summit.
Democratic and Republican heavyweights participated in the six month campaign, assuming that Wisconsin would have nationwide implications. Thus, the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, stated that "Wisconsin is a battleground state.... All of the Obama for America and state party resources, our grassroots network are fully engaged [in Wisconsin].... [Wisconsin is providing] the dry run that we need for our massive, significant, dynamic grassroots presidential campaign." Irrespective of the long-term and severe economic crisis, and regardless of the results of the June 5, 2012 Wisconsin election, November is still five months away. That is sufficient time for unexpected developments -- including significant blunders by Obama and Romney - which could determine the outcome of the election either way.
No matter how obvious Islam's connection to Muslim hatred of the Jew, these Western journalists are adept at conjuring up appellations whose only purpose is to infer that such anti-Semitism (and its attendant terrorism) is somehow tangential from Islam proper. The naive and Leftist ideal of universalism these Western journalists are so afraid of transgressing against outweighs, according to their rationale, whatever injury Islam's innate anti-Semitism inflicts upon the Jew and the reputation of the State of Israel.
Near the end of his address, the President Obama closed by saying, "As you examine my commitment, you don't just have to count on my words, you can look at my deeds." Fair enough, let's do just that. Just five months into his presidency his foreign policy tilt toward the Muslim world began to manifest. Liz Cheney, the daughter of the former Vice President stated, "There is no president who has done more to delegitimize and undermine the State of Israel than President Obama" At a G20 meeting in April, 2009 Obama raised eyebrows by displaying uncharacteristic deference to the Saudi Monarch by deeply bowing to him. The June 4, 2009 mea culpa speech in Cairo set the table for what many consider his obsequious foreign policy to the Muslim world. By the 4th paragraph of his talk, those familiar with the history of Islam were scratching their heads by the statement, "America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles -- principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."
President Obama has gone farther than any US president in implementing the Jerusalem policy-of-denial. He is pressing for an unprecedented construction freeze in Jerusalem beyond the 1949 ceasefire lines, and is trying to eliminate any reference to "Jerusalem, Israel" in present and past official documents and communications.
These four commissions laid the groundwork for an agenda of global control; A controlled media would dictate the flow of information and ideas and prevent dissent; control of international development manages and redistributes wealth; full disarmament would put the power structure into the hands of those with armaments; and tying environmentalism to poverty and economic development would bring the entire agenda to the level of an international emergency.
Just Say 'NO' by Ambassador (Ret.) Yoram Ettinger April 7, 2012
Prime Minister Shamir had his share of clashes with Presidents Reagan and (especially) G.H. Bush. However, a 1988 agreement significantly upgraded strategic cooperation, and a series of 1991-2 Congressional initiatives further enhanced bilateral relations, in spite of the White House. On a rainy day, the US prefers a defiant ally over a "punching bag!" US-Israel relations have not evolved around the Arab-Israeli conflict, but around shared-values and mutual regional and global threats and interests.
So I poked though our little library and came up with the perfect book about green, Adventures in Contentment, by David Grayson. A fellow employee gave me this book back in the year 2,000. I remember the year only because we were working on the U.S. census together, that is, until I realized how ridiculous it was to be starting the census in rural, woodsy, lakeside Maine in mud season.
The new consulate is much different, and much worse. The State Department opened its new consulate in Jerusalem in October 2010. It is located in the Jewish neighborhood of Arnona. It was built on the plot that Israel allocated for the US Embassy after Congress passed Jerusalem Embassy Act in 1995 requiring the US government to move its embassy to Jerusalem. I read that construction began in 2004. I haven't been able to find out whether when construction began it was to build the embassy or a new consulate so I don't know yet whether the Bush administration thought it was building an embassy that the Obama administration turned into a consulate or if the Bush administration thought it was building a consulate that the Obama administration completed.
So, the exact words "Sustainable Development" come from UN documents and its exact policies are imposed at the local level - yet, we are told by its proponents, none of these development plans have anything to do with UN policy. It's an amazing tap dance. As local residents question their county commissioners, city councilmen, mayors, state legislators, and governors about the origins of their policies, it has become routine for these "representatives of the people" to get a puzzled look on their faces and a wrinkle in their brows, as they say, "I've never heard of Agenda 21." "That's just a conspiracy theory." The worst of the worst of the Sustainablists is the American Planning Association (APA). So panicked is this American Trojan Horse over growing opposition to its policies that APA has organized a "Boot Camp" to teach its operatives how to counter our opposition. Recently APA released a memo entitled "Glossary for the Public." It is quite telling on how an organization that is supposed to be one of the most respected planning groups in the nation, operating in nearly every city, will teach its people to lie at all costs in order to maintain their power and influence in our communities.
In 1620 and 1630, William Bradford and John Winthrop delivered sermons on the "Mayflower" and "Arbella," referring to the deliverance from "modern day Egypt and Pharaoh," to "the crossing of the modern day Red Sea" and to New Zion/Canaan as the destination of the Pilgrims on board. In 1776, Thomas Paine, the author of Common Sense (which cemented public support for the revolution), referred to King George as the "hardened, sullen tempered Pharaoh." Upon declaration of independence, Benjamin Franklin, the most secular Founding Father, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the second third American Presidents, proposed a Passover theme for the official US seal
I believe in wind power, just not where it's not appropriate, such as scenic areas where folks have been vacationing and living in for a century, the great forests, mountains, and lakes of Maine. For about ten years, we purchased hydropower -- the kind that Belfast is thinking of developing from a couple of hydroelectric dams built by the late Larry Gleason in the 1970s. The city is thinking of buying those dams. Now we don't buy pure hydropower, because the company that was selling it to us, 'First Wind', suddenly and without any notice to us, the customers, stopped selling it.
The EPA asked for permission to enter Johnson's property to collect data. Johnson gave his approval, believing he had nothing to hide. He later discovered that the EPA wanted to return his land to wetlands under the assumption that wetland conditions existed on the property before Johnson's cranberry bogs were constructed. The result of such outrageous interpretations of the Clean Water Act has led Senator Paul to introduce his bill to Redefine "navigable waters" to explicitly clarify that waters must actually be navigable in fact, or "permanent, standing, or continuously flowing bodies of water that form geographical features commonly known as streams, oceans, rivers and lakes that are connected to waters that are navigable-in- fact."
To this day, Mr. Obama's college transcripts, undergraduate thesis and health records remain sealed. We know little about his years in Indonesia as a young boy; his overseas trips to countries like Pakistan in the 1980s; his relationship with his mother and Muslim stepfather; and his time spent as a "community organizer" in Chicago. In short, the president's past is clouded in mystery. This is not conspiracy-mongering, but objective fact. Americans have a right to know who their commander-in-chief really is. Instead, the media wants to bury any debate or inquiry into Mr. Obama's background. (Washington Times)
Updated March 17, 2012: Forgerygate: Barak Hussein Obama, President of the United States of America: Trojan Horse or Messiah?: Law Suits against Obama. By April 2010 - the date of the last entry, it was quite obvious that there was no more need to keep adding links. I guess Obama was not quite what the Politically Correct Multiculturalist Self-Righteous Ideologues thought he would be. No man/woman should be selected for such a high office based upon an ideology as stupid as Political Correctness.
Updated March 17, 2012: Forgerygate: The Obama Presidency!: Ongoing commentary: Who is President Obama. I believe that Obama is a Trojan horse, and that in due time the American People are going to suffer badly for their mistake in choosing him as President. America it seems is considered both a god and a demon, with the title changing on a daily basis depending on the circumstance. In my opinion, America is nothing more than a country, and if the world cannot have success without the USA, or if the world falters when the USA falters, then I must ask: "whose fault is that?" The world at large should grow up and become independent.
Sanctions - which have been undermined by Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Turkish non compliance - will not prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Forty years of sanctions did not prevent the nuclearization of North Korea, and thirty three years of sanctions against Iran have provided Teheran with additional time to develop/acquire nuclear capabilities.
Netanyahu should not be swayed by the "Palestine Firsters" in the Administration. US-Israel relations transcend the Arab-Israel conflict and the Palestinian issue. They are based on ancient, shared Judeo-Christian values and contemporary joint interests and mutual threats, irrespective of the Palestinian issue. Netanyahu should not be intimidated by - and should not subordinate his agenda to - the assumption that Obama, supposedly, has a lock on reelection. Netanyahu should present, to both sides of Pennsylvania Avenue, a series of initiatives, which would dramatically expand the mutually-beneficial, win-win US-Israel defense and commercial cooperation
Turkeys were introduced into southern Maine in 1978 and Waldo County in 1984 -- guess our DIFW speaker-biologist didn't know about Waldo County and forgot to tell us they were brought once more into the Pine Tree State by biologists. Being a semi-believer in evolution within a species, I just assumed they evolved from big chicken hens or turkeys that escaped from farms. Also, I learned from a website that their numbers diminished in places where farms were turned into other uses, because, I guess wild turkeys also may have evolved from farmers.
The battle to stop Agenda 21 in local communities and in state legislatures has taken several varied but effective paths. Unofficial reports indicate that at least 54 communities have withdrawn from ICLEI in 2011. In addition, while ICLEI set a goal of 1000 American cities as members by 2015, indications are that only 17 new cities joined ICLEI this past year. That would be a net reduction of 37! -- They began to lay out a full-blown presentation for a plan to protect property rights in their county. They called it a Property Rights Council. This was to be an official arm of the county government, complete with a full time employee and a selected council of citizens who would oversee all county legislation and regulations to assure they didn't violate private property rights. In addition, the plan was to connect the council's activities with a state wide network of free market think tanks that would help make such judgments on the proposed legislation.
Well, it all began last Friday with my yearly mammogram. I guess it's nature's payback for writing that "Bra" story. Anyway, I went for my yearly mammo at 8:45 on Friday and after arriving home later that morning, I received a call from the mammo place asking me to come in asap to have the exam redone because they "didn't like the looks" of my left breast. I wanted to tell them that I didn't like the looks of my breasts either
Notwithstanding the uninspiring slate of Republican candidates, and the self-destruct Republican presidential primaries, recent public opinion polls highlight the uphill challenge facing President Obama's reelection campaign and the Democratic Party's attempt to sustain its Senate majority and regain the House majority. The November 2012 election will determine the House and Senate majorities in Congress, which is co-equal to the White House in shaping domestic, foreign and national security affairs. It was Congress which terminated the US military involvement in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos (the "Eagleton Amendment"), Angola (the "Clark Amendment") and Nicaragua (the "Boland Amendment")
Awad noted that Oklahoma's anti-Sharia amendment is just one of more than 20 similar pieces of legislation introduced in state legislatures nationwide. In 2007, the Justice Department labeled CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist finance case in U.S. history.
It has been suggested that Islamic rage and terrorism is triggered by US policies toward Muslim nations. However, The surge in anti-US Islamic terrorism, and the proliferation of Islamic terrorist sleeper cells and training camps in the US and Canada, occur in spite of the US-led bombing of Serbia, which yielded independence to the Muslim-dominated Bosnia and Kosovo, and despite the mega-billion dollar US assistance to the Mujahideen, which ended Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Moreover, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who opposed the war in Iraq and supported Palestinian demands, was inaugurated in June 2007, and was greeted by three Muslim terrorists-engineered car bombs in London and Glasgow.
During a solo Maine Appalachian Trail Club maintenance trip up Moody Mountain, I had been reaching up to remove a fairly large branch that had been hanging just above the trail. Should that five-incher have chosen to fall while a hiker was beneath it, the hiker would at least have ended with a sore shoulder or sore head. As I was cutting at it, the branch let go, swung, and banged me on the side of my head. Things went around and around for a number of seconds until the branch lay at my feet.
Another doctor said, "Well, really, what are you complaining about?" "Some woman would give anything to have what you've finally gotten." I looked at him in disbelief and then reconciled myself to the fact that men being men, they are born to think like that. I had to bite my tongue and clamp my lips shut as I slid off the cold exam table to keep from saying to him, "Well doc, how would you like it if you woke up one morning and found that your testicles were all swollen up and hanging down your legs like two grapefruits in a plastic bag!" I wanted to but I didn't!

From a 69% approval rating "coattail President" on inauguration day, January 20, 2009, Obama collapsed to a 43% "anchor-chained President" on November 13, 2011, according to Gallup. From 44%, Obama's strong nucleus of support has shrunk to a meager 25%, while his strong nucleus of opposition has expanded from 14% to 40%, according to the "Rasmussen Report." Compared with the approval rating of recent US Presidents - during November of their third year in office - Obama is lagging behind, along with his role-model, one-term President, Jimmy Carter
Mommy came into the bathroom and she laughed too when she saw what had made Julia laugh. "Don't worry Julia," Mommy said. "Pretty soon, you will have two very white, new teeth." Julia smiled at herself again as she imagined how she would look with two big front teeth. "Mommy, will I look just like a rabbit?""No!" "No!" Julia, you will look very, very pretty." Mommy told her.
Being licked by a St. Bernard is a never-to-be-forgotten experience, especially on an empty trail on July Fourth in a park loaded with July Fourth-celebrating tourists. There was no one to rescue us, certainly not the thin woman, so we were licked and slobbered on, a fascinating experience on a hot July Fourth. I have since thought that the Colonists -- more correctly, new states residents -- might have been able to win the Revolution a lot quicker had they been armed with slobbering St. Bernards instead of muskets that only fired once in awhile when they felt like it. Imagine a whole army of red-jacketed British troops going down beneath a host of St. Bernard slobbers.
News of the joint drill came amid recent local media reports that Israel is planning to strike Iran's nuclear facilities in the near future. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak were reportedly seeking to secure cabinet majority for such an attack, sparking the ire of senior government officials who accused the media of causing "tremendous damage." The anti-Netanyahu comments by Obama in his conversation with France's President Nicholas Sarkozy more evidence of President Obama's disdain for Israel
These photos show what is supposed to be a century-old trail reopened in Acadia National Park. I know it's not actually the old trail, because I walked the old trail eight or nine years ago, two or three times. The old trail circled around the end of Canada Cliffs well away from the cliffs. The "reopened" trail is closer in with lots of newly built stone steps to protect the trail from modern hiking boots. The old trail didn't have as many boots -- and they weren't hiking boots -- tramp it. Milt Gross photo.
The sign in the unorganized township of Blanchard calls it the Taylor Road. Whatever its real name, it's smoother than it was the first year I drove it to find the access into the AT and corridor. I suspect the large amount of rain last spring damaged the rocky road, and Piscataquis County sent a guy -- or gal -- on a road grader over it. Because this year I didn't scrape the bottom of Ellie Echo at all, just her front bumper a little when she climbed out of a bit of a gully where a logger's bridge carried us across a brook.
President Barack Obama is hurting the U.S. war against terrorism due to his overly excessive concern with not offending Muslims either in the United States or overseas, Sen Lieberman told an audience on Thursday during his speech blasting the president's new counterterrorism strategy.
Just getting the canoe into the water had taken three weeks, a good chunk of time since the pond we put her in is less than an hour from home. We bought the used 14-foot Old Town fiberglass because the ancient aluminum 18-footer, "AB" for Aluminum Battleship, was too long for either 13-foot Toyota and too heavy for us to keep hefting it on and off the pickups we had to rent to carry her.
Ducky Wucky tried to be polite, as one brand of our Washington gang seems to try usually in vain. I won't say which brand is polite, like Ducky Wucky, or which likes to gobble and hog the feed trough because this is not a political column. A good politician knows how to get to that voter-sponsored feed trough not just once but as many times as he or she can to grab all he or she can grab.
This doe may or not have been Gracie, when she visited us last winter. If she was Gracie, she has grown a fair amount between then and now this summer when she "chats" with us from our dooryard. Milt Gross photo.
"Back in the day," which was for me in the 1970s, our family and sometimes groups of students I brought to Camden Hills State Park ambled down this stone-step trail from the "south" parking lot to the seaside path and a picnic table where an unremembered amount of goodies were gobbled by us. When we walked it the other day, I had to be a bit more careful not to catch my walking stick in some small cracks among rocks and roots. Times do change. Milt Gross photo.
A few weeks before announcing his re-election campaign, President Obama convened two dozen Wall Street executives, many of them longtime donors, in the White House's Blue Room...The parallels between the Obama Wall Street hustle and the Clintons' infamous coffee klatches are way too obvious to ignore, even for the liberal reporters who have noted the similarities, but continue to protect Obama and his minions. Now Obama's cheerleading section in the press is quick to defend the president, saying that it is not yet known whether or not these Wall Street execs were expressly pumped for cash.
I've seen a number of owls do rather unowl-like antics, but I've told you about them already, way back in ancient history about a year ago. I'll tell you about them again, when I do a rerun column. While you're waiting, maybe you'd be so kind as to e-mail me some of your tales of the birds you know. Did you ever watch our noble national symbol, the bald eagle, eat? We did, and he was so close we got good pictures -- before CDs so those photos are not with this column -- of the clumsy big critter, kind of humped over, almost upside down as he chowed down -- or up.
On her return flight, she brought Philippine "goodies" to nibble and share with those she'd left at home. However airport security personnel relieved her of that for security reasons. Who knows, she may have had a bomb in those "goodies." Or, the airport security personnel may have been hungry. At any rate, she arrived back in Maine "goodiless." Exhausted and frustrated, Nicki asked how they could do this to her, since her flight had been booked a couple of months in advance. "Because we're allowed to," came the answer.
Implications for U.S. Homeland Security Iran and its proxy group Hezbollah continue to expand their presence in Central and South American taking advantage of their already close relationship with Venezuela's despot Presidente Hugo Chavez, a top U.S. general said as he described developments within the U.S. Southern Command to lawmakers.
Train Travel in Maine: The Belfast and Moosehead Lake consisted of a diesel switcher, a caboose in which passengers could ride for a higher fare than we humble coach passengers paid ($11 for senior citizens and $!2 for adults who were not yet senior even though they probably had graduated from somewhere), and our 1926 coach complete with that prickly cloth material on the seats.
According to criminologists, organized crime gangs cost the U.K. public between $15 billion and $25 billion annually and affects the everyday lives of numerous law-abiding individuals. The NCA will be responsible for tackling these crimes which include child abuse, drug and people smuggling, illegal immigration, fraud, cyber crime and many other serious and organized crime gang activities.
Never go hiking alone is the age-old wisdom -- for everybody else. I seldom have gone with others, and on an AT work trip on Moody Mountain I may have wished I had. I was sawing away at a large limb that was hanging hazardously from a tree about six feet above the trail. The limb, which was about five inches in diameter, for some reason swung suddenly and whacked me on the head.
It may have been that he also saw my passenger, a genuine city slicker from Lewiston, who I don't think had ever seen a real out-in-the-wilds -- or along-the-road bull moose before. Moosie may have wanted to duly impress said passenger. He impressed both of us in different ways. While my friend's eyes kind of boggled, and he was trying to find the word "moose" to stammer it, I was a bit irritated. Mr. Moose didn't nobly trot out of the way of the car. He trotted, playfully it seemed, up the road right in front of the car.
An Island Explorer passenger told me she and her husband lived in a tiny Vermont town, to which they had moved from New York to begin a bed-and-breakfast. The town was also way back in the country, generally known as "the sticks." Although it was so remote, the passenger told me, there was a sign at the town line to let motorists know they had arrived. The sign read, "If you can read this, you're not from here."
Now comes the Appalachian Trail. Geez, you say, he writes about that every week! Yup, I finally learned to spell it, so it gets the treatment. Anyhow, before being rudely interrupted with your thoughts, I was about to say I want to measure the walking distance on an abandoned woods road to my new corridor-monitoring section of AT.
Bald Peak in Acadia National Park viewed over Upper Hadlock Pond. (Milt Gross photo.) You don't need a heavy pack -- or, in my case, any pack. I'm kind of lazy, and since the entire walk is.9 mile from Route 198, why load myself down with stuff I don't need.
I did tell the guy -- I thought he may have been the guy -- who banged on the door something to discourage his ever coming back to stay there and annoy us in the future. The B&B owner had gone off to pick up some hikers at the Height of Land and told us our breakfast -- some kind of egg thingy -- was in the oven anytime we were ready. And she added, "Would you watch the coffee?" What's there to watch? It sits there in its little pot, ready to go.
It is now beyond question that Benjaim Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and other right thinking American colonists knew what the game of the Habitant and their church would play in the future. And that was proven on June 22, 1974, exactly 200 years after the Quebec Act was passed by the British Parliament at Westminster. It only goes to prove that the American colonials that met at Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia were right in their assumption and the British Parliament absolutely wrong on all counts.
We didn't kiss the ground in Bangor, as tradition I've heard says you should. I'm not sure why we didn't. My very first flight was in a little one-engine Cessna or Piper Cub -- hard to recall after about 90 years or so. I was a teenager then. The pilot explained to me he had to keep the nose of the aircraft even with the horizon. Good thing it wasn't over the Longfellow Mountains of Maine. As we approached the West Chester, PA airport to land, the pilot said, "Okay, now you can land it."
A bus passenger, who travels a lot, told me she went via Amtrak to Mississippi. The train got there by way of Chicago, she said, although she wasn't sure why Amtrak had picked such an unstraight route. The route wasn't the problem, however, she said. The problem was that either the train to Chicago from wherever, Boston or New York, was six hours late arriving. Or the Mississippi train was six hours late departing Chicago.
People in Canada had better pay serious attention to this group's activities because at this very moment in time that same NAZI Germany insanity is alive and well in Quebec under the guise of nationalism. A tinge of insanity becomes apparent every time he opens his mouth to talk about his make-believe nation and he has gone as far as to write the words of a national anthem which speaks of the war of independence to come.
In Aroostook County, which is the largest county in the State of Maine and the largest county east of the Mississippi, there are plenty of things to do especially if you are the hunting, fishing and outdoors kind of person. The county is home to so many different kinds of wild animals to hunt, trap, fish and stalk that there are always an endless variety of stories or tall tales being told about these creatures and each person always tries to best his neighbor.
Please, make it a point and tell the Canadian people the truths of their history, rather then narrate a Fairy Tale a la Hans Christian Anderson or even the Brothers Grimm to them, because that would be totally out of your field of expertize. You might as a politician stretch the truth a little bit while giving a speech, but in this case you have entered the domain of Fables, which might well be good for children, but certainly not for adults.
After measuring carefully, praying a good bit -- one use for religious words before all else fails and the other use comes into play -- and even checking it twice, I got the top step in place.
We observed these two deer as well as three or four more each day from the dining room and living room windows in an apartment we rented in Bar Harbor several years ago. Understand, an apartment in Maine may not be just like your typical Boston or New York apartment. This one had a window that overlooked Great Hill in Acadia National Park.
Having been picking potatoes since the age of two, when Mother first took me to the fields with her, I knew everything there was to know and a lot I didn't want to know about picking potatoes. It was excruciating, dirty, backbreaking work. The farmer, sitting on his tractor, would go down the rows pulling the potato digger along behind him. The digger, back then, was designed to cover two rows and when it was lowered, the front part of the machine, dug into the dirt beneath the grown potatoes. The metal racks would roll back over the rollers and carry the uprooted potato plants along with it, filling the ground with freshly dug potatoes, rocks, potato vines, dirt and bugs. The farmer would continue in this mode until the field was dug, it was lunchtime or the digger broke down.
Dad was an excellent woodsman, hunter and fisherman and many hunters or fisherman from the cities, who happened to be hunting or fishing in the greater Aroostook County area, would ask Dad to guide for them or show them where he caught all the biggest fish. And Dad, being the father of eight children, always looked for any chance he could to supplement his meager potato farmer's salary.
The manager, an import from the Midwest, thought western Maine should become an industrial zone which in his mind would save the region economically. The federal government wanted to use the region to bury low-level nuclear waste. I hadn't moved to Maine to live in an industrial area -- especially a nuclear waste dumping ground, and, having been here some 20 years, knew this manager's idea was totally out of the ballpark for this part of Maine with her mountains, lakes, and forests. Most of the area's residents fought against the proposal -- and won.
Not looking convinced, the teenager walked with us to a quiet spot under some trees. I said a prayer aloud, asking God to give the girl back her dental appliance. Like the teenager, I was not convinced that this prayer was anything but a formality. In my mind, I pictured the girls' parents' reaction to the news that their daughter's expensive bridge was at the bottom of the lake.
In Maine, where the snow has yet to whack me on the head, I remember a favorite tree along a snowmobile trail in West Paris where I cross-country skied often. The snowmobilers were generally fellow members of the Norway-Paris Fish and Game Club and were prepared for Mr. Strange to appear just off the trail as they drove past on their motorized sleds. That group generally snowmobiled at a reasonable rate of speed, so avoiding their fun-to-laugh-at-news-reporter member was easy.
Remember Hansel and Gretel's bread crumbs? I barely did, but their trick turned out to work for the skunk. I laid a long board down the bulkhead, guessing that most skunks were more familiar with tiptoeing along logs in the woods than climbing stairs in those same woods. I then managed to get down there without being sprayed and left a trail of bread crumbs along the floor and right up the board.
The Canadian Constitution and comprises seven parts. The first part being the Canadian Charter of RIGHTS and FREEDOMS, which was supposedly enshrined to give Canadians the freedoms of conscience, religion, thought, belief, opinion and expression. But this was never really adhered to, neither in principle nor in fact.
United Kingdom's Special Air Service, or SAS, landed in military transport aircraft in a remote area near a Libyan seaport after planning the rescue of U.K. civilian workers after it was feared that workers might be taken hostage by Libya's regular army or the hired mercenaries from Chad and the Sudan. SAS troops were heavily armed with fully-automatic assault rifles, machine guns and pump shotguns, but they were able to so far conduct the operation without firing a shot. "The SAS recon team probably entered Libya in plainclothes on commercial flights earlier last week," said the SAS-trained American source who now manages protection operations for an international security firm. Many of the SAS troops have remained to locate and rescue more non-Libyan civilians.
Much of the insistence that evidence-free species-to-species evolution occurred because some guys didn't want to deal with a god. A god? How comforting is that? I want to be in control of my own life, not have some god tell me how to live. Teachers are intellectual, right? So are they going to mimic their Sunday School teacher about God and creation? Or are they going to fall in line with the cynical professors, who are shoving for their own reason -- wanting to be their own god -- the theory of total evolution as fact. I believe the latter is more prevalent.
Life in Maine U.S.A. as told by Martha Stevens-David. Great Grammy Ida had one really bad fault as far as we were concerned. She didn't like kids, any kids. If she happened to be sitting in the kitchen when we came in, she'd turn in her old rocking chair and glare at us through the heat of the woodstove for a couple of minutes. Upon recognizing us, her false teeth would slip and click as she muttered to herself and then she'd rock back and forth in her chair until she'd gained enough momentum to get up.
Andre Arthur, Independent MP from Quebec and former radio personality spared by the SCC of paying thousands of dollars to Montreal Arab and Haitian cabbies but branded a RACIST by seven judges of Canada's highest court for his on-air rant in 1998. Andre Arthur got off scot free for his RACIST rant. Le maire de Ville de Herouxville, Quebec, one Andre Drouin indicated that he was not tolerant of people who were not Quebecois. What would be the lot of those who were neither Quebecois nor Catholic?
"Mon Pays" was written by Gilles Vigneault but it was made a hit by Patsy Gallant who sang it under it's English title: 'My Land'. The Quebecois were insulted that she sang the song in English.
Fort Hood Massacre: The bi-partisan panel of Senators investigating the incident claimed that they discovered evidence of "systemic failures". The hearing is expected to reveal details of how the FBI and the Army could have prevented the shooting but failed to do so. In the Senate report released on Thursday, Senators Joe Lieberman and Collins said that military commanders had clear indications that the shooter -- in what became known as the Fort Hood Massacre -- held views that were so extreme that he should have been disciplined or discharged from the Army altogether.
Appalachian Trail volunteer work involves other skills besides creating beer trees. But corridor monitoring may be the only volunteer task that lends itself to the creation of beer trees. For example of other jobs, the Maine Youth Corps and volunteer groups, the volunteer groups being composed of Maine Appalachian Trail Club members, engage in maintenance work of the Trail itself and the lean-tos and privies about every ten miles along the Trail... This permanant boundary marker lies along the Appalachian Trail corridor about a dozen miles west of Monson. The numbers and letters indicate the tract, state, and individual marker.
I pulled myself up enough so that I could lean against the bed and then I felt a warm trickle sliding down my face! I brought my pajama sleeve up to my forehead and wiped it across my face and was shocked to see the blood on my sleeve. Then, I realized that my nose was pulsating and didn't feel at all right and as I gingerly touched my chin, it too didn't feel quite all that good! Leo sat down on the floor and kept apologizing about having pulled me out from under the bed and then I remembered why I been trapped under the bed in the first place. My Hair! I brought my hair up to where I normally pinned my bun and found that my bun wasn't so full any longer. So, I bent my head and looked under the bed and there, still swinging back and forth was a large clump of blond hair! I lifted my hand and found the fifty-cent sized bald spot that was waiting there. When I showed Leo my bald spot, all the color drained from his face and he looked sick. "Oh well honey, never mind, it will all grow back!" I consoled him.
The Rambler was "cool" in that she had those fold-down seats that would allow you to recline and sleep, hopefully when you weren't driving. Those seats weren't so "cool" the nights we camped over at Hastings Campground in the White Mountain National Forest. I had opened my window a crack and headed for dreamland, when I dreamed a doctor was stabbing me with a needle, then another, and another. I awoke to something I hadn't experienced in my short time in Maine, no-see-ums. The thing about no-see-ums is that they take all the fun out of camping in a Rambler with reclining seats.
Shortly after buying the VW, the fates delivered me from the private school to the Lewiston Sun Journal to write rather than teach. The VW, which ran great but was heat challenged on those dark, cold winter nights when I had to drive 40 miles one-way to cover meetings in Fryeburg for the Sun Journal.
"Come visit the Bangor and Ellsworth Mountains," our winter tourism advertising could read. Lots of other towns likely can also brag about their white tourist attractions. Snowmobiling may be a great sport, but there's nothing quite like admiring the Bangor or Ellsworth Mountains.
These words were written by an Englishman. who chose exile rather than to give in to tyranny in his own country. There are very few options open to us that will not make those in power angry, but as free men, can we really avoid striking out at our oppressors? With an election [Canada] around the corner I say: 'Come hell or high water we "must" stand up and be counted, because our cause is just.'
Said Jaziri was discovered hiding in a Mexican registered BMW. The terrorism supporting cleric has been banned from France and Canada, as well as the United States.. Jaziri, who gained notoriety when he ordered his followers to "execute" the controversial Danish cartoonist who drew pictures of the prophet Mohammed, was arrested, as was the BMW's driver Kenneth Robert Lawler
After I return from a more difficult hike on the Maine Appalachian Trail, in Acadia National Park, or elsewhere, I find myself yearning for a quiet, rural pathway or old road down which I can just amble. The peacefulness of such scenes at times overwhelms me, and when life brings stress my way I tend to close my eyes and picture myself on such a path.
In the two decades since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the world has become the target of a growing global crime threat from criminal organizations and criminal activities that have poured over the borders of Russia and other former Soviet republics such as Ukraine.
This railroad snowplow rests on a siding in Thorndike alongside a former railroad station. During the late 19th and first half of the 20th century, standard-gauge and narrow-gauge -- four feet wide -- railroads, including passenger trains, traversed most of Maine. Milt Gross photo
Just recently, La Familia witnessed a number of it's crime captains either killed in shootouts with federal police or by the Mexican military. In addition, the gang is fighting against the South Pacific Cartel whose members have begun operating within La Familia territory.
Instead of sitting next to their Democrat Party colleagues during President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech, GOP lawmakers should be standing up and pointing out the hypocrisy and corruption routinely perpetrated by the Obama administration, said former law enforcement and intelligence officer Sid Franes.
Most of us recall with awful memories the ice storm of 1998 that brought electric power lines down everywhere the storm struck, including our house in Steuben. We had no power for eight days.
It would seem that both the Liberal Party of Quebec and the Liberal Party of Canada ought to explain how they permitted racist elements of Quebecois Society, with known RACIST tendencies to enter both provincial and federal politics.
There seems to be a definite malaise here on the part of the Chiefs of the tribes that the regions belong to, and so far Cree Grand Chief Matthew Come Coon has made no mention of what could happen if Quebec seceded unilaterally from Canada. Thus Quebec would have the upper hand and that is not a very good position for the Native peoples to find themselves in if hostilities ever broke out between Canada and Quebec.
During the 1930's the upsurge of Nazism in Germany brought about its many facets and exposed it for what it really was, a horrendous evil posing as a saviour of the German people...but with all its promises of creating a prosperous nation it was going to create a nightmare such as the world had never seen before. North American Nazism has already got a foothold in Canada's province of Quebec
Bats are great sport too, or at least a great nuisance when you're a little kid and you and your big brother have been ordered by that same no-nonsense mom to get the bat out of the cellar. A bat in the cellar? Come on, Mom, let's be real
These attacks on places of worship are not the exception but the rule. An Anglican Church was vandalized and daubed with paint. Then a Roman Catholic Church belonging to the English-speaking community in MONTREAL was vandalized. Note that no Roman Catholic Churches belonging to the Quebecois is ever vandalized
It's difficult to apply pressure on anyone to whom you owe more than $900 billion even if they're a reasonable person. And the Chinese leader is not known for his reasonability.
American-Yemeni radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaqi's call to action was posted on the Internet's Jihadi web sites this past weekend. Awlaqi reportedly described American government officials and American citizens as the "imams of kufr (leaders of disbelief) in this day and age."
But there is another advantage on France24, its team of journalist and members of its staff are of the highest calibre, many of them have received their education in either Cambridge or Oxford and it shows. But their quality of French is also one that the Quebecois/Quebecoise could never hope to reach, because their society is NOT French but Metis/Metisse.
According to Lakewood police detectives, upon questioning witnesses they discovered that Officer Matlosz and Crockam exchanged words when suddenly Crockam stepped back from Matlosz's cruiser, pulled out a handgun and opened fire into the driver's side window.
What the Quebecois - a Metis people - do not realize is that their Joual-language is NOT French but a colloquial akin to Cockney English and that it is not recognized by France.
In an audio message sent to Reuters news agency and broadcast on the television channel al-Jazeera, the radical Islamic group boasted that a group of mujahideen carried out a brave operation on January 7 in the heart of the Niger capital Niamey.
The problem I have nowadays is that liquid stuff the Maine Department of Transportation in their insidious wisdom sprays on the roads to melt the ice. That's fine, and it works well on the roads while rusting out "Ellie" Echo's undercarriage parts. But it makes the roads look wet. So when it's 15 degrees above zero, am I driving on treated wet roads or glare ice?
New York City, the powerful United Federation of Teachers was granted a one-year waiver from compliance with the new health care reform law. "Of course, it should be noted that the UFT, a group that represents tens of thousands of teachers and education professionals, was gung-ho over getting Obama elected and ObamaCare passed.
The wannabe moose-watcher on my bus acted as if she didn't believe my story, which puzzled me since I had retired from being a reporter and everyone knows reporters always tell the truth sometimes.
Milt Gross moved to Maine after graduation and was first employed as a minister before becoming a teacher, a principal and an adult-ed director. He later became a journalist and after retiring from the Northwoods Sporting Journal he commenced publishing his "Down the Road a Piece" articles.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the scrapping border fence project. The original Southwest Border Initiative program, started during President George W. Bush's administration, has only established 53 miles worth of fencing along the border.
French government has denied Quebecois French Citizenship, because .. there was a lot of intermarriage between the Habitant men and Aboriginal women... Thus the use of PURE LAINE ( pure wool) or DE SOUCHE (first generation) are redundant and cannot be backed-up by the facts of history.
Within minutes of the shooting of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, some liberal-left commentators, absent any credible evidence, were already blaming conservatives for their coarse rhetoric. [BUT] "Perhaps the media need to start investigating the rhetoric emanating from the Obama White House," said political strategist Mike Baker
In a series of Internet postings, Chinese citizens were told that their nation successfully flew a J-20 stealth fighter jet that promises to rival anything that exists in the United States.
Grandma Brown's Home Baked Beans come in these cans. The company can be reached by snail mail and phone but not by e-mail. I phoned the Mexico, NY company, and a representative told me they want to keep the bean company old fashioned, so none of that new fangled online stuff.
The messages found at the bloody crime scene were allegedly signed by Mexico's Public Enemy Number One, Joaquin Guzman, a/k/a/ "Shortie," the head of the Sinaloa cartel, a source told the Law Enforcement Examiner.
In 1942, a very knowledgable and observant U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was aware that the so-called canadiens suffered from CLUSTEROPHOBIA and mentioned this subject in a letter to William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canadian Prime Minister.
There are currently several U.S. counterterrorism teams posted in London and other parts of the U.K., including a team of New York City police detectives from the NYPD's intelligence division.
My error in judgment was to fall in love with a Beauceronne (Quebecoise) named Marie Francoise Louise Catherine Jacques from of the all places "Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce," Quebec. St-Joseph-de-Beauce is a small village in Comte Beauce that is located not too far from the Maine border. I had my baptism of fire, because as the family put it, I was not a canadien (Metis), and I was not of their culture or religion. But what was their religion? Roman Catholic of course! And what was my religion? I was a Roman Catholic too. So what exactly was the drawback? The fact was that the Quebecois considered English-speaking Roman Catholics as being Protestants, and not Catholics at all, because they spoke English. But how had this flawed reasoning actually come about? Why of course the local parish priests in Quebec had being telling this falsehood to their parishioners for the last 248 years and counting.
Dozens of suspected terrorists have been freed from Guantanamo since Obama issued an executive order last year calling for a comprehensive "review" of all detainees and a total of 598 have been released so far, according to officials at Judicial Watch, a public-interest, watchdog group that investigates government and political corruption.
As the State Department continues to improve security at US embassies, terrorist groups are likely to focus on "soft" targets such as homes, schools, and places of worship, according to Mike Snopes, a law enforcement and security consultant.
All agencies that undertake intelligence collection, whether through human or technical means, must be constantly on guard that what they are collecting is genuine. This requires continuous evaluation of their sources as well as the information gathered from them. Intelligence analysts who are familiar with the totality of information on a particular topic are often in a position to detect anomalies.
These Quebecois/ Canadien - offspring of French fathers and Native Indian mothers - are the result of an experiment in the colony of New France which was promoted by and sometimes enforced by the colonial governors of the kings of France and the Roman Catholic Church.
President Barack Obama is expected to appoint controversial lawyer James Cole as Attorney General Eric Holder's top deputy at the U.S. Justice Department. This latest recess appointment has created a firestorm since Senate Republican objected to Cole's appointment and had successfully put the brakes on his installation as the Number Two man at the Justice Department.
But this guy I know wasn't wealthy at all and worked hard to get through college and launch a successful career in the "straight" world. He managed to be a municipal official all his working life, retired now with sufficient money to well educate two daughters in such unhippy institutions as Yale and Harvard. I imagine he has lots of time to sit around and think of his good old hippy days.
In 1990, while working for an American Food Plant, that was located in Mount Royal, Quebec, at a time when the English language was under attack by hard core Quebecois nationalists of the Parti Quebecois whose raison d'être was the total removal of the English language in Quebec and the enforcement of their national language Joual (French patois).
As Michel Tremblay said, we are not English, not French but Québécois (Metis), we do not speak English or French, we speak JOUAL (cheval mispronounced); it is the REAL language of Quebec. Of course Quebec's snobbish elite society was quick to denounce Michel Tremblay for telling the TRUTH
My error in judgment was to fall in love with a Beauceronne (Quebecoise) named Marie Francoise Louise Catherine Jacques from of the all places "Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce," Quebec. It seems that the theories of Herr Adolf Hitler, Dr. Hendrik Verwoerd, Monsieur Rene Levesque and Monsieur David Arvisias are all in sync because to them, "The end justifies the means!" That is why David Arvisais considers the death of the 18-year old Honduran boy Fredy Villanueva from Montreal-North a statistic rather than a deliberate case of Cold Blooded Murder.
Chinese Naval History. This is the story of Chinese Admiral Zheng He (or his Chinese title of Cheng Ho), his birth name being Ma Sanbao, and his Muslim name of Hajji Mahmud, who traveled the China Seas, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea, long before the time of the European or Arab explorers and colonizers.
English is a living language created by the people, and not necessarily by government bodies, which gives it, its flexibility. Whereas the French language, which began as a colloquial, called Lingua Franca by the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne (Carolus Magnus) in the 8th century, never did advance like English, because it was dictatorial and inflexible. Present day French in all its forms is still a very rigid language and requires the approval of l'Academie française and the French government.
What were the REAL aims of Quebec's language laws in the first place? It was to stop the advance of any language, other than JOUAL (French patois), the language of the Quebecois nation. The intent was to dumb down others who were not Quebecois, into becoming as semi-illiterate as the Quebecois/Quebecois themselves.

About the KingsCalendar Publisher
R.P.BenDedek is the owner and Editor of KingsCalendar.com which was originally set up to publicize his research results into the Chronology of Ancient Israel. Those results were published under the title: 'The King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran'.
Whilst there have been many attempts to solve the chronological riddle of the Bible's synchronisms of reigns of the kings of Israel and Judah and their synchronism with other Ancient Near Eastern Nations, no other research is based on a simple mathematical formula which could, if it is incorrect, be disproved easily. To date, no one has been able to dismiss the mathematical results of this research.
Free to air Academic articles set forth Apologetics for and results of his discovery of an "artificial chronological scheme" running through the Bible, Josephus, the Damascus Documents of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Seder Olam Rabbah.
During the current economic downturn, this book has been drastically reduced in price but will eventually rise as the economy improves.
