The 'Writers Journal' at Kings Calendar . comwas originally created as a stop-gap measure for writers at Magic City Morning Star during publishing difficulties there. It has continued mainly to cater to writers who in times previous provided material for this website (Kingscalendar) but whose work I shared at Magic City, and 'The Writers Journal' now additionally provides further web presence for some writers who originate from Magic City.
In February 2016 The King's Calendar Website was given a new look and you can see the new site HERE. The King's Calendar Writers Journal has a new FRONTPAGE which can be viewed HERE
The New Kingscalendar has access to Various Social Media
Years ago we had to disable comments at kingscalendar because of all the pornographic spam. Today spam filters keep out the unwanted people and allow the rest to make comments, to post to Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
Mahmoud Abbas has said he supported Egypt's crackdown on tunnels linking the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula. The Egyptian military has stepped up the destruction of tunnels from Gaza that it says are used by the Palestinian movement to smuggle arms, food and money. The army says it has destroyed more than 1,600 such tunnels since Morsi was overthrown. Egypt has also begun setting up a buffer zone along its border with the Gaza Strip, which will see hundreds of homes demolished, in order to prevent fighter infiltration and arms smuggling.
But the sad truth is that Hanukka, like so many things nowadays, has been "dumbed down," stripped of its deeper meaning and ripped from its original context. As a result, there are three central themes of the Hanukka story that have been largely swept aside, even though they speak directly to the period in which we now live. Specifically, these are: battling assimilation, struggling to liberate Judea and Samaria, and longing for a rebuilt Temple.
"Rebellion against Tyrants is obedience to God" was proposed by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin to be inscribed on the official US Seal, reflecting the legacy of the Maccabees: A tiny minority of rebels - condemned by the loyalist majority - rising against an oppressive super-power. The Maccabees and the Founding Fathers demonstrated the victory of the few over the many, right over wrong, moral over immoral, truth over lies, faith over cynicism and opportunism, long-term conviction over short-term convenience. Paul Revere's nickname was the "modern day Maccabee."
I want to state at the outset, that this will be a politically incorrect article. Throughout my stories, I have received the odd piece of hate mail telling me that I should not be in China and that I need to drop my western arrogance, and accept the Chinese as an "ethnic group." Well, in fact I do accept the Chinese for who they are, collectively and individually, but this does not mean that I should lie, paint a false picture, or gloss over the realities of daily life here in rural China.
I gathered up a spatula of cream from the birthday cake, and slammed it into birthday boy's face. I paid for that exercise dearly, for, as he stumbled back in shock, he knocked the soft drink and some of the cake and cream onto the floor, which, in the ensuing panic, was quickly transported all over the living room as students ran in different directions. And of course, being Chinese boys, when it was time to go, they just got up and left, leaving me with everything to clean up. Nevertheless I did have fun, and we did spend some real quality time talking.
The perpetrators of Arab/Muslim terrorism, in general, and Palestinian terrorism, in particular, are not "Lone Wolves." They are the by-products of a centuries' old intolerant ideology, supported by educational and religious infrastructures of indoctrination and incitement, operating systematically in kindergartens, schools, universities, mosques and regime-controlled media.
Curiously, however, the Catalonians' roar for independence doesn't seem to interest the rest of Europe as much as that of the Palestinians, even though the former have a much better case for having their own state. To begin with, there actually once was a Catalonian state, albeit briefly, in the 17th century, whereas there has never been an independent Palestine in all of history. Even if one does think the Palestinians have been living under occupation since 1967, Spain has occupied Catalonia for 300 years, making it a longer-running dispute, and justice delayed is justice denied.
A police report released last month identifies 55 of these "no-go zones" in Sweden. These zones are similar to others that have popped up in Europe in recent years. They formed as large Muslim populations emigrating to politically correct and tolerant European states refuse to assimilate and set up virtual states within a state where the authorities fear to tread.
Peters devotes a large part of her book to the manner in which the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, perpetuates the refugee status of Arabs who were displaced, or left voluntarily, during the War of Independence. This has become an integral part of efforts to undermine Israel's standing in the eyes of the world and in its own eyes. Women in Green asks Peters to relate to this organization, which, although its stated purpose is to bring peace to the world, actually strengthens those whose goal is to destroy Israel.
If there is a decisive outcome in the November 2014 midterm election, it will be a direct result of President Obama's plummeting approval ratings, which has become the most critical issue of the upcoming election. Obama has been transformed into an "anchor-chained" -- and not a "coattail" -- president, significantly undermining Democratic candidates. According to Time Magazine, "after President Bush had similar poor approval ratings in 2006, Democrats enjoyed a wave election that gave them control of Congress...."
Muslim Children Call for End to Democracy in Australia. When you vilify people for objecting to Muslims, their dress, their beliefs and their customs, how can you yourself then be justified in vilifying Muslims. If we were to object to Muslim parents teaching their kids about jihad, about the overthrow of democracy, the damnation of feminists, homosexuals, abortionists, Jews and Christians, then we must of necessity object to what Roman Catholics, Evangelical Protestants, Baptists, Jews, Democrats and Republicans (in America), Labour, Liberal and National Party members in Australia, Feminists, Homosexuals and pro-abortionists teach their children about their beliefs.
Mohsen Ghomi, an adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said, "Confronting Israel is the common goal of all Muslim countries." "The (Islamic) Revolution's missiles, in north and south (of Iran ), cover the entire occupied territories (Israel)," said the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Maj.- Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari...Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv confirmed that it treated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's daughter. The hospital said that Haniyeh's daughter was one of over a thousand Gazans that the hospital treats every year... A three-month-old baby was killed and eight people injured when a car, driven by known terrorist - 21 year-old Abdur Rahman Slodi, slammed into pedestrians at a Jerusalem light railway stop.
In fact, the 1948/9 war was not fought by Arab countries because of - or for - the Palestinians. Therefore, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Syria occupied Judea, Samaria, Gaza and parts of the Golan Heights, but did not transfer it to the Palestinians. Moreover, none of the Arab wars against Israel (1948/9, 1956, 1967, 1069/70, 1973) was conducted on behalf of Palestinians. And, Arabs never flexed any military muscle during Israel's wars against Palestinian terrorism (1982/3, 1988-91, 2000-2003, February 2008, December 2008, March 2012, October 2012 and July 2014). Arabs have always showered Palestinians with rhetoric, but never with resources. Why?
Still, what is the Obama connection to these dedicated revolutionaries? It's perhaps ironic that all four former Weatherman terrorists today worked through an organization called "Movement for a Democratic Society." That organization was the parent to another one called "Progressives for Obama." They raised funds for Obama, promoted his candidacy, and helped to recruit activists to support him.
Whatever one may think about homosexuality and/or gay marriage, the reality pointed out in the article received for publication is exactly what I tried pointing out way back in 2005. PC activists are not egalitarian; what they demand for themselves is not what they grant others. I have many times pointed out that Political Correctness in essence is nothing more good manners, non-discrimination and the Bible's 'do unto others.' But as I have repeatedly pointed out over the years, "The most vocal people in the support of these types of laws, are in fact not the least bit interested in stamping out 'racism or discrimination'. The whole purpose of the law is to prevent you from expressing your right to freedom of expression."
Political Activism: Political correctness is just one tool in evidence of an underlying cancer slowly eating away at Western Democracy. Children are turning away from 'our' traditions, because they have failed to give them 'inner emotional stability'. Finding no ability to put their 'faith' in what Modern Society offers, they seek something 'more substantial' and more emotionally satisfying. So afraid are we of not being perceived as 'righteous', that we gladly crucify those amongst us who are not afraid to say what they think; and to further assuage our guilt we find ways of 'excusing' the terrorists. And then when the brutality of those we support becomes so personal and intense that we can no longer excuse it, we must find some politically correct 'sanitary' and acceptable means of expressing our disgust.
Whether dining 'alfresco' or in a private room in a posh hotel or in the common back alley restaurant; in the meal room at school or at the take away stand in the street, or even in private homes, meals are an informal communal activity. They are a pleasant adventure, except for the food - until you get to know what to eat that is! Of one thing you may be sure however; the meat will always be fresh. Killed and bought or bought and killed that very day, and in some cases, killed to order; it is always fresh.
There are no pleasure cruises on the river in Honghu or amusement parks as can be found in the larger cities. Chibi park and museum is not that far away but the costs involved make it a special occasion activity, as is also taking a trip out to or on Hong Hu lake. Young people spend a lot of time in internet cafes (illegal for under 18's - ah! but it doesn't matter!), watching TV, playing ping pong, or hiring VCD's and DVD's, all of which are pirated and completely crappy to watch AND frustrating when it finally claps out as you get to the climax of the movie.
Wuhan is divided into three cities, Hankou where the main bus and railway stations are located, Hanyang where the cruise ships dock and where the hotel is, and Wuchang where the big lakes are. The bridge from Hanyang to Wuchang is called the Chang Jiang No. 1 Bridge. These photographs were taken in the Amusement Park section in Zhongshan Park. One often encounters such Amusement Parks in the larger city parks e.g.: Ba Yi Park Baotou City Inner Mongolia. On this occasion I was accompanied by Guo Heyun, a young boy who attached himself to me after following a group of foreigners around the streets of Wuhan.
The Palestinian Arabs voted for the terrorist group Hamas as their government. IS, however, are Islamist mass-murdering terrorists for whom no one has ever voted or granted legal legitimacy to rule. Who is more evil, terrorists who have the legitimacy of having been voted for by almost 4 million Palestinian people, or a bunch of rag-tag un-legitimized terrorists. Hamas and its rockets are housed and protected by the United Nations through its UNRWA schools and other facilities. IS, for now, isn't being protected by the United Nations...
American president who has warned all non-Muslim Americans that, "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam"--in essence prohibiting any criticism of Islam the religion or, as it has turned out, voicing any objection to Muslim demands for religious and/or political preponderance: Today it's Gaza, tomorrow it will be Manhattan.
The federal government has lost track of 6,000 foreigners here in the USA on student visas who have been specifically identified as potential threats to America and its citizens. These 6,000 foreign "students" are out of a total of 58,000 foreign students who have overstayed their visas in the past year. This is so infuriating because several of the 9/11 hijackers came here on student visas and overstayed those visas to remain in the country... President Obama has decided to lift restrictions on Libyan students attending aviation and nuclear science training here in the USA.... one of the American Jihadists killed fighting for IS was an employee of Delta Airlines!
When you read the history of Islam, you find that nothing much has changed since the Prophet moved off the scene. The two opposing camps of Islam that immediately arose thereafter, are still slogging it out today. As the article points out, on one side you have Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and on the other, Qatar and Turkey. And as one brilliant 'specialist' so accurately pointed out (though not in these direct terms): when Islam is divided theologically and politically, it is impossible to resolve the many crises in the Arab/Muslim world.
Why did Muslims invite 70 Jewish families to return to Jerusalem after driving out the Christian Crusaders? Why did Muslims invite Jews fleeing from Torquemada's Inquisition to settle in Arab lands and the Holy Land? Why did Imams consult with Rabbis to find ways to counter the efforts of Christian missionaries? Why were Holy Land Jews represented in the Turkish Parliament? .. The Islamic State militant group has executed 700 members of the al-Sheitaat tribe, and more than 300 Yazidi men. One day before 82 others were killed for refusing to convert to Islam.
The Obama administration would have forced Israel to bow to Hamas's demands weeks ago if the Egyptians and Saudis hadn't opposed a Hamas victory. From Egypt's perspective, a Hamas victory in the war with Israel that connects Gaza to Sinai will strengthen the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamic State and other allies. Such a development represents a critical threat to the regime..... Israel's strategic cooperation with Egypt and Saudi Arabia owes to their shared interests. It cannot extend beyond them. And they have no shared interests in regard to the PLO.
Obviously, by discounting the possible utility of a military solution, Grossman and his comrades are trying to push Israel in the direction of negotiating with the likes of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. After all, if the Islamists cannot be defeated, then how else can the dispute be resolved? The only problem with Grossman's assertion is that it is patently false. The idea that there is no military solution to the threat posed by Hamas is wishful, rather than truthful, thinking.
If these protests are really against barbarism, then where is the outrage over the Muslims who this month had their heads hacked off by Islamic State militants in Syria' s Raqqa and impaled on a fence? If these protests are against crimes against children, then where are the marches against the Boko Haram terrorists who cut the throats of schoolboys and enslaved nearly 300 schoolgirls in April? ...Or is killing a Muslim only an international outrage when a Jew does it in self-defence? Is the only good Jew one who let himself be killed?
Summer Camp consisted of two different 12 day sessions, teaching each class once every two days. On the day of the 4th class during the first camp, I was advised that the parents had complained about my teaching. 'They think that what you teach is useless (like having the students stand and actually speak English), and that you should teach 'new words' (that they will never use if they don't actually speak), and that you should teach them about Australia".
In accordance with the Vatican II changes, the church in China has reformed, and despite the bamboo curtain, it has remained abreast of events in the west and in particular, the Roman Catholic Church. They even receive regular English periodicals from Canada entitled 'Michael.' Whilst they acknowledge the political realities for the church in China, and despite some Western religious perceptions that they are not truly 'Catholic,' they maintain that they are 'one in Spirit' with their western brethren.
Chinese is a difficult language to learn, only because words sound alike and are written the same in Ping Ying (English alphabet), but each has a different inflection or tone. In Chinese characters of course, they are all different. An example of this in English might be for instance, 'I am going to present this present to the manager.' There is a pronunciation difference between the two words that are written the same and sound alike. In Chinese, this occurs with each word, for each 'word' can be inflected 4 different ways.
If you don't like the Islamic ban on Alcohol, then don't go to Islamic countries. If you don't like the way a country dictatorially controls the actions and beliefs of a people, then also don't go there. Likewise, if peoples from such places cannot accept the social norms of our Western Society, then they should also not come here; and just as it is not permitted to force western values onto any other society including Islamic Society, it is also wrong to force Islamic or other norms onto our Western Societies.
I have hated it, enjoyed it, felt ambivalent about it, but through it all I have never felt lonely - "God please give me some time to myself!" I have in the process however, learned a lot. Which is more than I can say for QC. I don't know how many times I warned him of the danger of drying clothes in front of the heater. Finally he has learned his lesson. While I was away with Zhan Yan in ShenZhen in May, there was a fire in my home. I did not know it of course, and it took three weeks of sitting on those "black" chairs in the dining room before I noticed the black marks.
She came from a town called Jian Li (on the other side of the Yangtze river), and her husband came from Feng Kou, just a few kilometers down the road. She was three when the Japanese left China, and remembers them as nice people who were kind to her family. During the period of the KuoMingTang (KMT) her husband had been involved in 'underground/illegal' work and activities of some kind. At liberation in 1949, he became a Government officer at Jian Li and worked very hard. Many people who knew him however, and resented his high position.
You may not like some of the things I have written here and may form whatever opinion that you wish. That after all is the measure of democracy. I too have my opinions about politically correct storm troopers and armchair experts; and it is this: "Come to China for few years - that'll wake you up!"
The photograph was taken in January of 2009 - 5 years after the original story was written. We left FengKou by the northern entrance to the town and made our way along the highway to the HengJi turn off which is at a place called 'Wugou.' It took about 20 minutes at most to arrive there, although the driver first had to stop and ask a local where the turn off was. The rear compartment was so closed off from the front that I had no view at all, otherwise I could have told her where to turn.
Henji is a little village some distance from Wugou which is on the Main Road into Honghu. Both places fall under the jurisdiction of Fengkou Town which is a part of Hong Hu City Hubei Province China. The central/administrative town for Hong Hu is "Xindi" which sits on the banks of the Yangtze River about 20 kilometres away from Chibi village and town on the other side of the river
We cannot undo all the wrongs that have already been inflicted on our societies, but we can make a personal choice to stop acting like a dumb sheep being led along by 'would be' political masters. We have to stop judging right and wrong on the basis of "feelings," and start relying on solid facts. And if the facts are not that solid so that a matter can be determined beyond a reasonable doubt, then we must refrain from passing judgment. The basis of the legal concept of 'beyond reasonable doubt' is the idea that it is better that a guilty man go free than an innocent man be punished. In today's world, that concept has been turned on its head and every man - and I use that language advisedly - is considered guilty until proven innocent.
"The rights to assembly, as well as equality, are constitutional rights that take the highest priority in any government," he stated. "The Mount is part of the State of Israel and is not an ex-territorial area to which the law does not apply. The Supreme Court has reiterated this, more than once."
It was primarily the Palestinians' refusal to make the symbolic step of recognizing that Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people that would live in peace alongside a nation state of the Palestinian people that sunk the talks. But acknowledging that would mean they understood that the political culture of the Palestinians - in which (fake) national identity is inextricably tied to rejection of Israel' s existence...
"Based on these threats, the United States cannot afford to withdraw or remain disengaged from key parts of North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia," said Seth Jones, author of the study and associate director of the International Security and Defense Policy Center at RAND, a nonprofit research organization. "After more than a decade of war in Afghanistan and Iraq, it may be tempting for the U.S. to turn its attention elsewhere and scale back on counterterrorism efforts. But this research indicates that the struggle is far from over."
Society in general (half of which are 'false guilt' laden men) see men as responsible for every societal evil; male teachers can't be trusted, male police officers are storm troopers, men are chauvinistic, sexist, lecherous, deviates, perpetrators of domestic violence and rape, child abusers, pedophiles, and don't even rate in the child nurturing stakes; men are uncaring, unemotional, or soppy sooks if they cry.
The following week we had a visitor to our class. A female teacher who wanted more practice. Someone asked me who she was and I said that since she was sitting right there in front of the student asking, that that student should ask the question of the visitor. This started a chain of events that led me to ask the student from the previous week, to ask the visitor a question. A little later I prompted him to ask another question. Subsequently he asked another three questions and joined in the conversation. You could see the sheer delight on his face, and he kept looking at me with obvious pride and a sense of achievement.

One motivating factor in travelling to Wuhan was that Chinese Custom during the Entrance Examination period, is for parents to come to the school and 'hang about,' bringing special foods and encouragement for their children. I have no idea why they feel this need to 'take care of' their children, but as the mothers of my two boys needed to be in town, I decided to turn over my apartment to both families, and just disappear.
Hong Hu like any Chinese city, contains areas in which the tourist might feel a little 'insecure.' It is not necessary. They are normal places, just tucked away out of sight, and which can be bypassed without realizing that they are there. It took me quite a while to notice the main entrance to one such place, and to my surprise it was like a rabbit’s warren of every imaginable piece of clothing you could buy.
(Parts 3 & 4 were originally one file. These 2004 stories are re-edited, separated and have larger photographs.)
The gas man comes around the complex each evening at around 5pm. He rides a nice little bicycle with tray attached. It looks like a utility truck. He calls out in a 'sing song' voice, 'Bring out your dead!' Bring out your dead!' Well actually I don't know what he says because he says it in Chinese, but his 'sing song monotone' does conjure up visions of that comedy in which they went around collecting dead bodies during the plague. 'Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!' Gas costs 55 yuan to refill and lasts until it runs out (as any Chinese person will tell you).
The limited role of the Palestinian issue was highlighted during the 1948/49 Arab-Israel War. Jordan launched the war in order to eliminate the Jewish state, expand to the Mediterranean and advance the goal to dominate Greater Syria. Egypt and Saudi Arabia entered the war despite their inadequate military infrastructure, in order to abort Jordan's imperialistic strategy. Iraq joined the war, aiming to control the oil pipeline from Iraq to Haifa. Syria assumed that the destruction of the Jewish state would facilitate the reassertion of Greater Syria. On September 20, 1948, the Arab League recognized the Arab government of the whole of Palestine, but ignored it, declaring it null and void in 1951/52, causing the UN to refuse Palestinian participation in the General Assembly proceedings.
The Founders knew that no piece of paper could ensure liberty. Only a people steeped in the principles that animated the Declaration could do that. Further, liberty depended not upon individuals living in isolation but on what Edmund Burke called the "little platoons" of society: families, religious congregations, and other voluntary associations. The Founders believed that if the institutions of civic virtue remained free and strong, the American people would remain self-governing and free.
All Israeli prime ministers, from Ben Gurion (starting in 1948 ) through Shamir (ending in 1992), enforced a pro-active Aliyah policy in defiance of the demographic and bureaucratic establishments, crowning Aliyah as Israel's top national priority. They followed in the footsteps of most of the Zionist leaders from the late 19th century, who realized that Aliyah was the soul, flesh and lifeline for the reconstruction of the Jewish State in the Land of Israel.
These articles by Jeff Wallace and Ned Witting, and their author's respective books ("In God We Trusted" - "Political Gridlock"), together with an article published May 23rd at Magic City written by Ed Fuelner titled Fostering "Informed Patriotism" focus on some basic issues concerning which all Americans ought to be cognizant.
The Muslim Brotherhood in America aims to convince Americans that Jihad only means "to struggle" or, more specifically, an internal, personal struggle. This is only partially correct and any campaign that claims that the term Jihad only means an internal, personal struggle amounts to disinformation. The dualistic nature of Islam, in this case as it applies to the meaning of "Jihad," is well documented both in historical Islamic doctrine and in contemporary use of the term. And Jihad definitely does not only mean an internal, personal struggle. In fact, the most widespread meaning of the term that is of particular interest to Westerners who are threatened by Jihad does in fact entail violence.
I am often asked, 'What made you decide to go to China?' The truth is, that I had reached a point in life where I realized that I had 'been there and done that' in relation to so many things, and had come to a point in my life where I looked at the world around me and decided that I just wanted someone to stop the merry-go-round and let me off. In fact I did not really so much 'decide' to go to China, as decide that I no longer wanted to be a part of the 'real world.' China for me, was intended to be just a temporary distraction from the nothingness of my life. But as things have transpired, it has given me a new lease on life. Despite all the set backs and frustrations of life here, I can say without qualification, that I have not been this happy since I was 18 years old.

"Finding Myself in China:" They like to chop the bone into a million pieces and then cook it with whatever meat is still left attached. It's rather like eating glass, and as for using chopsticks to take the little slivers of bone from your mouth, forget it! You just have to spit it out, because if you put your fingers to your mouth, everyone has fits. I had no idea how it worked, and it was no use trying to read the buttons on it because they were all in Chinese. So we spent the night rugged up tight, under quilts made for the average sized Chinese male. Consequently we froze our buns off. Not that it mattered much because despite the fact that the beds came with western mattresses, they were as hard a wooden planks. Actually, the reason for that was that they actually sat on wooden planks. So between the cold, the hunger, and the hard beds, I don't think either of us got much sleep that night.
Now you are probably wondering what these folk thought of this foreigner running around taking photos. Well, while it was my fondest wish to take photographs, I had no intention of turning up with Camera in hand. So you can imagine my reaction when a couple of old ladies (whose photographs I had taken the day before) grabbed hold of me and instructed me (through sign language of course) to go get my camera and take photos. I, being respectful of my elders, dutifully obeyed

The thrills and spills of that ride were definitely more exciting than any amusement park ride. My back, which up to that point, felt like it was out, was miraculously cured, while my brother's, which had been OK, was now in need of physiotherapy. I am not just talking about the driver's ability here. We were really riding on a dirt goat track, with pot holes, rocks, gullies and whatever you can imagine a goat track to be like, except that it was wide enough for a bus to travel on. It took about 10 minutes to arrive at the main road, at which time Susan informed us of the two things of which she was certain. The first was that there would be a bus eventually and the second, that she did not know when there would be a bus. Chinese Logic!
If you ask me to choose between the peace I have in my heart here in China, and the arrogant, purile, angry and vindictive behavior that I see in everyday activities in the West, then I would have to choose China, because the western emotional state is 'NOT HEALTHY - NOT NORMAL' and certainly does not reflect the ideals that Western countries claim to own. We are taught that if we say all the right words we will find ourselves living in a paradise of non-discrimination and loving acceptance of all. In reality however, Western people are filled with various forms of angst and will use any excuse to lash out at anyone who offends them. Look through the comments section on any internet site, be it a blog or mainstream newspaper, and you will see the anger and the hatred, the lack of respect and the cynicism, the intolerance for anyone who in some way or another offends my concept of MY HUMAN RIGHTS.
Christine Stewart (Former Canadian Minister of the Environment) said: "No matter if the science of global warming is all phony...climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world." Timothy Wirth (President, UN Foundation) and former official of the Clinton Administration said: "We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy." Paul Watson (Co-Founder of Green Peace) said: "It doesn't matter what is true. It only matters what people believe is true." Fear of over population is the central driving force behind nearly every Sustainable policy initiative. The fact is, in developed nations population is actually going down. The only real growth in the US population in recent years has been from immigration, legal or otherwise.
Honor Diaries addresses the abuses women and girls face in Muslim-majority societies: forced marriage, female genital mutilation, denial of education, restriction of movement and -- the ultimate -- honor killings. The film's story is told by nine courageous women's rights activists who witnessed firsthand the oppression women endure and profiles their efforts to affect change in Muslim-majority societies.Shame on the American universities for succumbing to the totalitarian, hypocritical, undemocratic, unrighteous and unjust demands of Islam. (And if CAIR and other organizations are not representative of Islam then it is high time for Muslims to declare it so. An irrelevant action at best.)
Passover, and especially the Exodus/Liberty, were the pillars of fire guiding the twelve tribes of Israel, and the thirteen American colonies, from subjugation to sovereignty. The Passover legacy comprises a critical part of the American story. Moses, the US Founding Fathers and Israel's Founding Father, Ben Gurion, were challenged by the "loyalists," who were intimidated by the price/sacrifice of liberty, preferring subjugation to Egypt, the British King and the British Mandate. They featured in prior editions of the clash of civilizations against Pharaoh, the British monarchy and church and the Arab/Muslim world. The latter still rejects non-Muslim ("infidel") sovereignty in any area considered -- by Muslims -- to be the abode of Islam (e.g., Spain and Portugal, southern France, Israel, etc.).
When we review modern Israeli history with the students and raise the issue of our right to this land from the international aspect, we can feel the students' eyes open in complete and utter surprise. Words like "the San Remo Conference" sound like the name of an exotic tourist location to them. These youngsters, the future of the State of Israel and the Jewish people, have not heard of the fact that Britain, as the mandatory power, was given the responsibility to exercise the Balfour Declaration at San Remo.
In still another historical anomaly, in no other conflict have refugees failed to be integrated into countries with which they share an ethnic, religious, and cultural identity. Most of the some 800,000 Jews, for example, driven from lands like Egypt and Iraq in which their ancestors had lived for centuries, were welcomed into Israel, which footed the bill for their maintenance and integration into society. The Arab states, on the other hand, kept their brother Arabs and Muslims in squalid camps that have evolved into squalid cities, their keep paid for by the United Nations Relief Works Agency, the only U.N. agency dedicated to only one group of refugees. Thus the international community has enabled the revanchist policy of the Arab states, as Alexander Galloway, head of the UNRWA, said in 1952: "It is perfectly clear that the Arab nations do not want to solve the Arab refugee problem. They want to keep it an open sore, as an affront against the United Nations, and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don't give a damn whether the refugees live or die."
Spokesman Ahmad Assaf revealed on official PA TV two weeks ago, on March 19, that the PA is using its non-member observer status in the United Nations (UN), given in 2012, as a "weapon" against Israel. Palestinian Media Watch translated the comments. Given the UN status, the PA has been "waving around" the threat of going to the International Criminal Court for around two years according to Assaf: "we've obtained the release of the prisoners, we blackmailed (that is in quotation marks) (Israel), and we've taken important positions because we have a card that we're waving around."
It is disturbing and chilling that the Obama administration could allow the OIC, along with the Shariah doctrine to which it adheres, to suppress free speech on a global basis via control of the Internet. Authoritarian governments, such as those in Saudi Arabia and Iran, have already been working to control the Internet and now they will no doubt move to fill the power vacuum caused by America's unilateral retreat.
..a particular point was stated in different ways at different times about how FEAR of those with political power caused otherwise good and honest people to err both by both commission and omission. People who exercised their freedom of thought, belief and speech became targets of those who believed that they had no right to those thoughts and beliefs and certainly no right to speak about them. And such was the fear of so many people, that they willingly succumbed to the pressure of the powers that were, to turn against their friends, family and work colleagues.
Israel can expect to face international isolation and possible sanctions from countries and companies across the world if Benjamin Netanyahu fails to endorse a framework agreement with the Palestinians, US President Barack Obama cautioned Israel ahead of a meeting with the Prime Minister Netanyahu. Senator John McCain stole the show earlier in the day, winning multiple, rousing, standing ovations from the largely Democrat audience by excoriating President Obama's "feckless foreign policy."
Having seen my Spring Break plans fall through the cracks two years in a row, I was really happy this year to finally get away. It's not that the trip was meant to be some exciting holiday. It was just a chance to get to some warmer weather and away from some of life's distractions, like people wanting me to spend my free time teaching English to their kids. Apart from one day at the beach, I spent ninety percent of the time in my apartment or in the hotel office next door. That might not sound too exciting to some people, but for me, it gave me much needed time to work and relax.
Now that he no longer has to concern himself with the wishes of the American public and its representatives in Congress, Obama has dropped the mask of opposition to Iran and forged ahead with a diplomatic process that all but ensures Iran will acquire nuclear weapons. The fact that Obama "doesn't have to run again for anything," he doesn't need to pretend feelings for Israel that he doesn't have, by among other things, going to the AIPAC annual policy conference. Obama's newfound courage to begin abandoning his pretense of supporting Israel presents Israel with a new challenge.
Washington Post, "For five years, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was [supposedly] a world in which 'the tide of war is receding....' Secretary John Kerry displayed this mindset, [saying that] Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a 19th century act in the 21st century.... Unfortunately, Russian President, Putin, has not received the memo on the 21st century behavior. Neither has China's president Xi Jinping, who is engaged in gunboat diplomacy against Japan and weaker nations of Southeast Asia.... Assad is waging a very 20th century war against his own people...."
February 24, 1942 - 19-year-old David Stoliar terrifyingly clung to bobbing debris in the Black Sea. At first he heard screams in the frigid waters but the voices died down. The Struma, then a 115-year-old Danube cattle barge, was a pitiful peanut-shell of a boat packed with nearly 800 refugees from Romania. Bound for the Land of Israel, they desperately fled Hitler's hell and the horrors of Bucharest's fascist regime. Eager to appease pro- Nazi Arab opinion, Britain chillingly declared that under no circumstance could the Struma's human cargo set foot in Eretz Yisrael. Furthermore, Britain pressured Turkey not to let anyone off the crippled boat at its end either.
The Palestinians do not bother fixing water leaks in city pipes. Up to 33 percent of water in Palestinian cities is wasted through leakage.. The State of Israel creates artificial water (desalinated seawater and recycled sewage) and behaves frugally and effectively, and as a result there is no shortage of water, despite having experienced many years of drought. Furthermore, it is a net exporter of water! Israel supplies 55 million cubic meters of water each year to Jordan, and sells 50 million cubic meters to the Palestinians.
Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, who testified in 1937 before the Peel Commission, which was established by the British government to investigate the outbreak of Arab violence in British-ruled Palestine told the commission that "there is no such country as Palestine! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria."
Israel is more popular than most Western democracies, while the Palestinian Authority is ranked among the least favorable (19% favorability), along with North Korea (11%), Iran (12%), Syria (13%) and Iraq (16%). Thus, when President Obama delivered the 2014 State of the Union Address, he was greeted with indifference when stating: "American diplomacy [aims] to achieve dignity and an independent state for Palestinians." However, the president triggered resounding applause when continuing: "...and lasting peace and security for the state of Israel -- a Jewish state that has known that America will always be at their side."
The Town Councilors ordered a group of town representatives to follow the Skinheads to determine from whence they had come, and then sent a deputation requesting that the offenders be turned over to Hairyhead justice. The Skinhead officials apologized profusely for the damage that had been done, and promised that the offenders would be dealt with according to Skinhead law. They went to great lengths to explain that the situation was not really the fault of the Skinheads, but of the Hairyheads who ought to have known better than to allow the boy to live as one of them. This you see is forbidden in law.
As his audience burned US and Israeli flags and stamped on placards depicting President Obama, President Hassan Rouhani intoned: "I say to those delusional people who say the military option is on the table that they should change their eye glasses." His meaning was clear to his mass audience: Iran no longer faces any military threats, either from the United States or Israel. The Iranian officer pressed on to suggest "the Americans" were cowards, who "cannot hide themselves in the sea since the entire Middle East region, Western Europe, the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Straits of Hormuz are monitored by us!"
Not so long ago Europe's elect blamed the Jews even for climate change? (Member of the European Parliament Clare Short claimed that Israel, "undermined the international community's reaction to global warming.") Has the Zionist lobby been a de facto American policy maker? Is it underhand for Zionists to sway public policy and opinion favourably towards Israel? To call a spade a spade, is the Jewish lobby not doing what other lobbies do, sometimes better, sometimes worse, sometimes not at all?
I called that asshole a dirty rotten liar because he is a dirty rotten liar, not because I hate Islam or Muslims. By some people's definition of Islamophobia, saying anything nasty about a Muslim should be a crime - even if it is true. You think I made that up didn't you? The fact of the matter is that it has twice already been declared in a court of law the 'truth' is no defense in a 'hate speech' trial. My fear is that my own country has become so weak, gutless and godless that one day it will become an Islamic Republic. My fear is quite rational. Do I blame Muslims for this? No!
The number of terrorist attacks targeting Jews in Judea and Samaria increased significantly in 2013 over the previous year, according to a report published by Israel s domestic security agency, the Shin Bet. Overall, 1,271 terrorist attacks were reported in 2013, up from just 578 in 2012. Six Israelis were killed in terror attacks in 2013. Three of those killed over the last year were the victims of knife attacks, two were shot by Palestinian snipers, and one was executed after being abducted by Arab terrorists.
Contrary to the state of mind of the American people and the US Congress, the US Administration has not warned anti-Israel Europeans of the dire consequences, should they resort to sanctions against the Jewish State - a besieged island of Western democracy surrounded and assaulted by an ocean of anti-Western Islamic tyrannies.
It seems that Israel has conspired to keep the truth from us. Watch the video and see how Israel treats Muslims, Druze and Arabs of all persuasions. But what is Egypt today? First and foremost it is an Islamic Country, one that has been struggling to catch up with Western economic success. But it is not exactly a success story
I am not trying to imply that nothing positive has been achieved in Afghanistan. Many schools have been opened. Girls are free to go to school and more than a million do. Kabul University has been partially rebuilt and is back in business. Some roads and bridges have been built and others repaired. Some of what has been done will continue and some may not be sustainable. However, what I believe must be said, is that both the international community and the Afghan government have failed to lift Afghanistan out of its pre-2001 broken condition.
The Temple Mount is the holiest site on earth according to Judaism, and is the place where the First Temple and Second Temple once stood. The plan to split Jerusalem's holy sites between various religions "has existed for some time, and now they're going to implement it in stages," Rabbi Ariel warned, adding, "During the Pope's next visit they plan to transfer the Cenacle on Mount Zion to him, turning it into a pilgrimage site."
A high school student grabbed a Jewish female classmate, held a lighter to her hair and said out loud, "let's burn the Jew," but a Canadian judge concluded that the incident was "not racially motivated." The lawyer for the defendant claimed, essentially, it was the girl's fault her hair caught on fire. (Would this judge have come to the same conclusion if the same was done by a Jew to a Christian or Muslim? What would be the reaction of the world?)
National Covenant of the Palestine Liberation Organization, May 28, 1964: "This organization does not exercise any regional sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the Gaza Strip or the Himmah area." ..following the 1948 defeat .. Upon occupying the West Bank ...King Abdallah moved quickly to erase all traces of Palestinian identity... the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan
The second issue of "Sovereignty" was prepared for publication during John Kerry's frenetic and relentless trips in the area. The pressure on Israel is far from moderate and the goal of this pressure is clear - to arrive at an agreement of "two states for two peoples" or in simpler words - to split the Land of Israel once again. In the appendices to his Book of the Commandments, Ramban (Nahmanides) states that the commandment to settle the Land of Israel also includes the prohibition "not to abandon it to the nations of the world or to desolation."
The Israeli team in the under-18 division of the World Youth Chess Championship has been forced to compete anonymously. The event, which is being held in the United Arab Emirates city of Abu Dhabi, features the team not under the Israeli flag - but under the ambiguous listing of the Federation Internationale des Echecs or World Chess Federation. In August, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) fined the Israeli team for the Davis Cup, after they refused to play a match scheduled on the holy day of Yom Kippur
[Before Richard Nixon decided to treat the PLO as a desirable organization, US policy was not predicated on Israeli land giveaways. "In '67 there was no such concept in the United States. UN Security Council Resolution 242, which set out the terms of an eventual peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors, stipulated clearly that the Arabs must recognize the right of Israel to exist in peace and security within defensible borders and, only afterward, would territorial changes be addressed..."
While vital US interests and homeland security are threatened by smothering Middle Eastern firestorms - from the Persian Gulf through Northwest Africa - Secretary Kerry is preoccupied with the Palestinian tumbleweed side-show. The latter has been the centerpiece of the Arab talk, but never the Arab walk. Contrary to Kerry's Palestine Firster approach, the Palestinian issue is not directly or indirectly linked to the Arab Tsunami, is not a core cause of regional turbulence and has not been the crux of the Arab-Israeli conflict nor the crown jewel of Arab policy-making.
11 year old Roi, eldest son of Udi and Ruth Fogel, was at home during the 2011 massacre in Itamar. As the terrorists brutally murdered his parents and siblings, Roi lay under a blanket in the living room. The terrorists did not notice that there was someone under the blanket, and his life was spared. 11-year-old Roi wants to know why the Israeli government is releasing terrorist murderers. The 11-year-old child understands what this government does not understand.
"The birth of the Palestinian refugee phenomenon -- in the form of a massive Arab flight - occurred during the Arab riots of 1936-39, not during the 1947-49 war... 1971 Ford Foundation report, by 1950, the majority of the Palestinian refugees began evacuating the camps and non-refugees moved in to benefit from UNRWA's services. For example, half of the population in the Jelazoon refugee camp, near Ramallah, settled there after 1950.2003 report by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) documented that less than 33% of registered Palestinian refugees live in refugee camps

BenDedek originally created the site to publicize his research results into the Chronology of Ancient Israel. Those results were published under the title: 'The King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran.' Whilst there have been many attempts to solve the chronological riddle of the Bible's synchronisms of reigns of the kings of Israel and Judah and their synchronism with other Ancient Near Eastern Nations, no other research is based on a simple mathematical formula which could, if it is incorrect, be disproved easily. To date, no one has been able to dismiss the mathematical results of this research.

Definition: King's Calendar Chronological Research
The Premise: Between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE (but continuing down to at least 104 BCE), Sectarian redactors transcribed the legitimate 'solar year' chronological records of Israel and Judah, into an artificial form, with listed years as each comprised of 12 months of 4 weeks of 7 days, or 336 days per year, thus creating a 13th artificial year where 12 solar years existed.
When the Synchronous Chronological Data provided in the Books of Kings and Chronicles for the Divided Kingdom Period are measured in years of 336 days, the synchronisms actually align. [Refer to Appendix 5. to see how it synchronises the Divided Kingdom Period]
