The Arab himself admitted in an interview with Israel's radio reporter Avi Yisakharov that the reason for blood on his face was that he was hit in the head by the butt of an IDF soldier's rifle. He said that this soldier also hit him in the ribs and the face. (The IDF soldier claimed that he did this because the Arab was holding a knife). Some hours after the Arab was listed as "critically injured" he was seen standing and laughing with his friends. He had miraculously become very lightly wounded.
