Jerrold L. Sobel is a published author with articles published in Israpundit, American Thinker, The Jewish Press, and other cyber and hard media in addition to his own weekly blog of 10,000 subscribers. As 'Stand-In' editor at Magic City Morning Star News in Maine USA I approached several writers asking them to invite friends to contribute to the newspaper.
Michael Devolin (who is also published at Kingscalendar) recommended Mr. Sobel to me, and I began to publish his articles at both Magic City Morning Star News and here in the Journal.
I appreciate Mr. Sobel's contributions to both sites.
Time and again he was on his heels, contradicting himself and underscoring pre-existing doubts about his qualifications. In one defining moment he stated without equivocation: "I support the president's strong position on containment." But minutes later, after being handed a note, he awkwardly back tracked: "If I said that, I meant to say that obviously, his position on containment, we don't have a position on containment." Mr. Hagel hasn't spent much more than two years in the Army; 45 years ago. That does not qualify him to run the most complex armed forces in the world today." Unfortunately, if the last two presidential elections are proof of anything, during this period of American politics qualifications have little or no bearing.
The Palestinian agenda at UNESCO is the de-Judaization of the land of Israel by Islamizing the holy sites. Oras Hamdan Taha, the Palestinian minister who deals with antiquities and gets funds from UNESCO, made clear, "it's writing or rewriting the history of Palestine." Less known is that the Vatican institutions are collaborating with the Palestinian autocracy. They recently also declared their support for waving a Palestinian flag over over the Temple Mount in the heart of ancient Jerusalem. Next in line is Rachel's Tomb, Judaism's third most holy site.
Gideon Levy would have made Joseph Goebbels drip with envy. Discounting years of unprovoked daily attacks; conveniently forgetting the psychological and physical stress suffered by young Jewish children, this guy, in the vanguard of Israeli bashing kooks, epitomizes the self flagellating Jew both within and outside Israel. What's his beef? Not only is Israel responsible for the recent war but is doubly so for suffering disproportionately fewer casualties in ending it. He states, "Since the first Qassam rocket fell on Israel in April 2001, 59 Israelis have been killed -- and 4,717 Palestinians." Somehow lost in his thinking is why the first Qassam fell on Israel to begin with. By this preposterous logic, to make the terrorists whole Israel must owe them, 4658 Jewish fatalities.
Obama was miffed and declined conciliation with the Prime Minister for you guessed it, the settlement issue. Forget dinner, Obama presented Netanyahu with a list of 13 demands designed to end the feud with the Administration and to build Palestinian confidence ahead of the resumption of peace talks. Amongst the demands was a call to end all settlement construction in East Jerusalem, the Israeli capital. To most in the Israeli advocacy community, including this writer, the perception of a role change in American/Israel diplomacy was further accentuated and unmistakable. The President was no longer an impartial mediator but had become a principle to the dispute.
Romney might have inquired: "Mr. President how did a Community Organizer, in effect a social worker, acquire such wealth." "Furthermore sir, I'm curious. In 1981 as a 20 years old sophomore in College you managed to travel to India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Africa. Where did you get the money for such extensive travel?" Romney might have continued: "Mr. President, recognizing your concern for my taxes and that of other wealthy Americans, can we now discuss the 6400 square foot mansion you bought at 5046 S. Greenwood Ave in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood?
About half way through this debacle, there was an interesting exchange on the economy and jobs. Romney castigated the President for misrepresenting his tax proposal as a gift to the wealthiest 3% of American small businesses. He correctly stated 97% of small businesses are taxed at less than 35% per cent whereas the remaining 3% employ half of all people that work in small business. Those are the businesses that employ one-quarter of all the workers in America.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), a woman with credibility issues of her own explained, the exclusion of language recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital in the 2012 Democratic national platform as a "technical error" that had not been discussed at all during the drafting process.
What's been lost over the years in this back and forth over Palestinian Arab refugees is the plight of approximately one million Jewish refugees that were disenfranchised throughout the Muslim world from the late 1940's into the 1950's. During 1947 and 1948, 820,000 Jews were inexorably persecuted and threatened with violence and expulsion by the governments of these countries
Marx believed that the problem with the socialism of his day was that it did not deal with economic issues. He proposed that his new (communist) economic system, which called for redistribution of wealth was more equitable. Redistribution of wealth, where have we heard that term lately? Paradoxically, as President Obama seeks to eschew a system that has allowed for the strongest economy and the highest standard of living the world has ever known, the Chinese are wholeheartedly embracing it. Rather than view the Chinese success as reaffirmation of capitalism, Obama wants to buy into the defunct European, socialist model.
For people interested in Islam, Israel, and the history of the Middle East conflict, my blog jewishcrusader.blogspot.com is up and running. It's loaded with articles, videos, and documents from many sources. As a political essayist, no different than the New York Times, I too have a point of view, but unlike the Times mine is not masked as news. However, when direct quotes are cited accompanied by a referenced URLs from whence they came, their validity can no longer be a matter of conjecture. So when a disgruntled reader writes "you're full of scrap," or something more inventive, I have a chuckle and reply: "open your mind and follow the corroborating URL." Point in hand:
It's time for Romney to take the offensive and begin attacking Obama for what he is, what he's done, and his associations. Let's look at the people he has brought into the White House upon his ascension to the Presidency. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, following Obama's $787 billion dollar spending program the unemployment set a new record of staying above 8% for the longest period since World War II; 36 months. America's first socialist president ingratiates himself to a constituency that he's made dependent upon him for ever increasing entitlements, regardless the cost. He believes larger, more intrusive government is the answer.
Specialists from the Ministry of Propaganda in Bucharest were sent to Iasi to intensify the brainwashing campaign. Vehicles with powerful loudspeakers raced through the streets inciting the population by falsely informing them the Jews were signaling to the Soviet air force identifying locations of targets to be bombed. Newspapers printed allegations stating that electric lamps, signaling the Soviet air force at night, had been "discovered" in the chimneys of Jewish houses. Other reports alleged that gigantic quantities of weapons and explosives had been found in Jewish homes.
Near the end of his address, the President Obama closed by saying, "As you examine my commitment, you don't just have to count on my words, you can look at my deeds." Fair enough, let's do just that. Just five months into his presidency his foreign policy tilt toward the Muslim world began to manifest. Liz Cheney, the daughter of the former Vice President stated, "There is no president who has done more to delegitimize and undermine the State of Israel than President Obama" At a G20 meeting in April, 2009 Obama raised eyebrows by displaying uncharacteristic deference to the Saudi Monarch by deeply bowing to him. The June 4, 2009 mea culpa speech in Cairo set the table for what many consider his obsequious foreign policy to the Muslim world. By the 4th paragraph of his talk, those familiar with the history of Islam were scratching their heads by the statement, "America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles -- principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."
As ridiculous as this poor attempt at fiction may be, it's not far off from what CNN, the New York Times, or the Washington Post would have you believe is going on in Israel today. The mainstream media in the United States relish portraying this perception of hostility and violence between Jews and Arabs throughout Israel. It feeds upon the natural apprehension people visiting Israel have embarking upon their trip. My first trip to Israel was in 1968 during the heat of the Viet Nam War and the race riots of that era. Many Israelis believed each time a White person encountered a Black person a fight was inevitable. Here again perceptions, misconceptions perpetuated by a news media with greater concern for peddling a point of view and selling a product rather than portraying news in an unbiased, neutral manner.
Israel today is facing Islamic terrorists made to believe time and destiny is on their side. No longer fearing the painful retribution once administered to them for incessant aggression, they now depend upon soft jihad; the canard of peace talks and denial of legitimacy to the land, and hard jihad, sustained violence from Gaza and homicide bombings emanating from Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).
Most infamously, apartheid came into prominence in South Africa with an enactment of laws in 1948 which institutionalized racial discrimination. Unfortunately, the dismantlement of Apartheid in South Africa isn't the end of the story, the practice is endemic throughout many parts of Africa and the Middle East. Let's take quick a tour of the region. Maen Areikat the PLO envoy to the United States remarked unequivocally that Israeli Jews would be removed from such a state.
There is no Palestinian land plain and simple. If there was: When was it founded and by whom? What were its borders and the name of its capital? What were its major cities? What constituted the basis of its economy? What form of government did it live under? Was Palestine ever recognized as an entity by another country? By whom? What was the language of the country called Palestine? What was Palestine's religion? What was the name of its currency? Since there is no country today, what caused her demise? These questions were posed by a Japanese writer, Yashiko Sagamori. Only the most revisionist adherent of the Palestinian narrative could even attempt to answer her queries. Pose these same questions regarding Israel and Jewish connection to this land, and except for the willfully blind and delusional, which admittedly there are many, each can be factually answered.

About the KingsCalendar Publisher
R.P.BenDedek is the owner and Editor of KingsCalendar.com which was originally set up to publicize his research results into the Chronology of Ancient Israel. Those results were published under the title: 'The King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran'.
Whilst there have been many attempts to solve the chronological riddle of the Bible's synchronisms of reigns of the kings of Israel and Judah and their synchronism with other Ancient Near Eastern Nations, no other research is based on a simple mathematical formula which could, if it is incorrect, be disproved easily. To date, no one has been able to dismiss the mathematical results of this research.
Free to air Academic articles set forth Apologetics for and results of his discovery of an "artificial chronological scheme" running through the Bible, Josephus, the Damascus Documents of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Seder Olam Rabbah.
During the current economic downturn, this book has been drastically reduced in price but will eventually rise as the economy improves.
