Enquiries in the forum section, lead me to make available here, some findings of the King's Calendar: The Secret of Qumran, regarding the flood, as calculated in accordance with Biblical Data and Josephus.
The original Forum entry is entitled: Answers for Trevor concerning the Flood and Nimrod.
Note:
This file is a specific answer to member enquiries. A more comprehensive article entitled: From Noah to Creation: How long? was published in December 2006.
1. The Flood and Abraham:
The ‘King’s Calendar’ converts the Biblical (artificial) Data into ‘real time’. This does not mean however, that the Biblical data (as handed down to us) for the flood event will be historically correct.
2. Before the Divided Kingdom:
The Biblical chronological information during the period of the Divided Kingdom, is synchronous, so it can be cross referenced.
The records prior to this are less reliable, and there is no way of 'certainly' knowing which chronological records were and were not transcribed into the artificial calendar.
3. Flood Historicity:
In addition to the chronological problem surrounding the ‘flood event’, there is also the matter of scientific and theological disagreements surrounding the reality of the event itself.
4. Josephus
There are two chronological points of which one ought to be aware.
The first is that Josephus reiterates the stipulated Biblical data of 292 years separating the Flood Event and the Birth of Abraham.
The other is that his individual data for the patriarchs indicates that the time differential was much greater.
[This is actually more in keeping with recent research regarding the creation of the Baltic Sea.
According to Antiquities 1:6:5 Abraham was born 292 ARTIFICIAL years after the flood. By this standard the flood occurred in 2184 BCE (unless the data was recorded in true solar years, in which case it will have occurred in 2205 BCE).
However, Josephus also lists (with the exception of Nahor) the ages of the patriarchs at the time of the birth of their sons. From this perspective, the total time lapse is 873 years (plus 29 years for Nahor).
Although there is no chart within the 'King's Calendar' to extend these 902 years (Josephus' figures), the results would be:
902 artificial years backdated from 1915 BCE = 2748 BCE (+/- 2 years) - or -
if the data is based in the original Solar year references, then the year would be 2817 BCE.
[Please Note: The Chapter on Josephus’ (Chapter 20) is not available ‘Free to Air’. ]
HoweverIf you go to the Chapter Precis Page – Top toolbar – and click onto Appendix 12, you will find the Calendar demonstrating his references. This is available for a limited time.
While the various dates have been provide here, I would like to stipulate that The 'King's Calendar' does not enter into the theological or scientific arguments involving ANY FLOOD, be it 'a local flood' or 'the BIBLICALLY LITERAL flood'.
The 'King's Calendar' merely interprets the chronological data as it appears in the Biblical and associated materials.
Other Historical Dates as calculated by the 'King's Calendar' are:
1928 Founding of Jerusalem
1915 BCE Birth of Abraham
1846 BCE Promise to Abraham
1846 BCE Abraham leaves Haran
1822 BCE Birth of Isaac
1767 BCE Birth of Jacob
1683 BCE Birth of Joseph
1648 BCE Sojourn commences
1633 BCE Jacob dies
1582 BCE Joseph dies
1554 BCE Hyksos expelled from Egypt
1449 BCE Exodus
1412 BCE Entry into Canaan
1010 BCE Reign of David
1004 BCE Jerusalem captured by David
970 BCE Solomon's Temple is commenced
586 BCE Babylonian Exile
538 BCE Cyrus
104 BCE Aristobulus
70 BCE Titus destroys Temple
Definition: King's Calendar Chronological Research
The Premise: Between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE (but continuing down to at least 104 BCE), Sectarian redactors transcribed the legitimate 'solar year' chronological records of Israel and Judah, into an artificial form, with listed years as each comprised of 12 months of 4 weeks of 7 days, or 336 days per year, thus creating a 13th artificial year where 12 solar years existed.
When the Synchronous Chronological Data provided in the Books of Kings and Chronicles for the Divided Kingdom Period are measured in years of 336 days, the synchronisms actually align. [Refer to Appendix Five to see how it synchronises the Divided Kingdom Period]
General formula for Biblical Data conversion:
The formula for constructing the artificial calendar was:
'X' times 364 equals 'Y' days
'Y' days divided by 336 equals 'Z' artificial years.
Values are:
'X' = any given number of 'real/solar' years
364 = perceived days in the sectarian calendar
'Y' = number of days calculated
336 = number of days in an artificial year
'Z' = artificial years = 1.083'X' and represents the original number of the converted years plus 8%.
To reverse the process by hand:
'Z' years times 336 equals 'Y' divided by 364 equals the Number of 'X' years converted.
To see how effective this method is, SEE:Appendix 5:Diagrammatic Reconstruction of Israelite History from 936 to 586 BCE:
The Principle of Linear Causality
The King's Calendar is a very simple approach to Biblical Chronology. It substitutes a value of 336 days for every year listed in Scripture. As far as the Divided Kingdom is concerned, when you use this 336 day year value, the synchronisms actually work. To see how effective this method is, SEE:Appendix 5: Diagrammatic Reconstruction of Israelite History from 936 to 586 BCE
Because it is a mathematical system, the King's Calendar must abide by certain mathematical rules, the most important of which, is that if you change any date for any day, month, or year every other day, month, or year is effected and must also change. It's like a 'domino effect'. Chronological references cannot be 'forced' to fit, and nor can they simply be ignored or 'compressed' as is the usual case with historians and archaeologists.
If any King's Calendar chronological determination disagrees with anything in the history books, it must argue the case as to why the history books are wrong, or why the evidence for an assertion is untrustworthy. If the King's Calendar successfully defends its' position, then the history books cannot be treated as definitive, and if the King's Calendar is 'proven' wrong, then every other chronological reference it provides is also wrong.
Because of this, the King's Calendar Chronological Reconstruction of Israel's history is unique, in that its' methodology can be scientifically (mathematically) tested and demonstrated to be either true or false. Its' chronological predictions are able to be 'proved' or 'disproved'.

The reason why I asked about Nimrod and Sargon, is that if the number of years between the flood and the rise of Nimrod and sargon coincide then it would be beneficial in providing solutions and relationships to Biblical personalities and archival finds/ kinglists. It may be it is another king. I haven't had time to sit down and work it out, yet. There is also the problem of the library at Ebla. This suppossably contains many references to Biblical characters but has been prevented from doing so by the Syrian Government and the head archaeologist. It even has a one God creation account - the ONLY one outside of the Bible [information from mr Wilson, personally]
Sorry, but I do not have information at the moment to help you.
You state that you have received information from 'MR WILSON PERSONALLY'. Forgive my ignorance, but as I don't know who Mr. Wilson is (outside of Dennis the Menace's neighbour), it would help if you cited your source more specifically.

He had been the head of the Australian Institute of Archaeology, in Melbourne. I had questioned him about Ebla, at a talk he was giving.
I had quite a few dealings with Mr. Piers Crocker at the Institute, he was very helpful. He left some years ago to live in Norway.
Can you tell us more about the ONE GOD CREATION?

I too would like to have a detailed, UNBIASED, report on the findings, of the library of Ebla: especially the original translation of this creation epic. Apparently, the original translator who decpihered the Ebla text, found that it stated there was only One God Who created the whole universe etc. It is very similiar to Genesis. At a conference, on text translation, many were aghast to be told of this; since for so long the establishment has been told there is No textural evidence for a One God Creation. But here it was. It blew their minds. I have tried to get a copy of the original translation, but have failed so far. The Library also has mention of a few biblical kings of Israel and Judah. There is even the possibility of Abram being involved. It is a VERY IMPORTANT find and yet has been hidden from public perusal, most probably for political reasons.
