Mr. Trump can you tell me what my grandchildren’s lives will be like? I never thought I would be concerned about their futures but everything I used to know and believe seems to be changing. It is probably my fault because I decided to be a teacher and teachers simply don’t make much money. I should have thought about their futures and how I could help their futures by making money instead of attempting to make a legacy. I thought they could make their own decisions in their lives to become what they wanted to become but without my help this concept is falling into the impossible.

Is anyone sick and tired of being afraid?

Is there anyone else out there in our great nation who is sick and tired of being afraid? Webster defines fear as being, “an unpleasant strong emotion caused by expectation or awareness of danger.” Ever since 9/11 there has been a vale of fear surrounding us all. Even though we are the most powerful nation on the planet we are still afraid what happened will happen again. What I know about 9/11 was we let our guard down against a group of people who want to hurt us. Throughout our history there have been many groups of people and many countries that wanted to hurt us.

The Renewed Drive to Exit the United Nations

Alabama Congressman Mike Rogers has introduced a new bill (H.R. 193) to end U.S. membership in the United Nations. The bill is the reintroduction of his American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 1205) from the last Congress. And of course, that was basically the same bill introduced year after year by former Congressman Ron Paul.

The Solution to Healthcare Reform

As the Republicans in Congress struggle to present a workable replacement to Obamacare, the solution is staring them in the face. It’s called free enterprise.

The only reason we need massive insurance programs today is because of government meddling in healthcare. It started with Medicare in which government dictated percentages it would pay for services. Insurance companies followed suit. Therefore, forcing doctors and hospitals to raise prices to make more money from those established percentages. To prove that fact, simply go to a hospital as an uninsured patient and observe how much they deduct from your final bill. Insurance would have had to pay the higher price.

The day the on-line Scrooge ruined my granddaughters Christmas

Christmas is a magical time of year especially for a 6-year old girl. In her eyes everyone can see a more than special sparkle in the knowledge of being a good girl all year long in order to receive that special present. My wife and I lost that special window through the eyes of a child when my daughter grew up and became a beautiful woman with a beautiful life. Six years ago she gave us a remarkable granddaughter whose love of life was exceptional to the point everyone she came in contact with had to smile. This year my daughter gave my wife the task of buying the special doll for our granddaughter. Weeks before she would hint to us about the doll with the specific knowledge it would be under her tree on Christmas Day.

Pushing back the dust of our pasts in order in order to enjoy and survive our future

This is the time of year everyone seems to slow down. For the past few months all we’ve thought about was preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner and getting out to the shopping areas in order to show how much you love someone by how much you spend on them. The Christmas rush is over, the New Years Eve celebration is a hangover you want to forget, and all you have left is figure out where you are heading into the future before it happens.

Yes Santa, there is a Virginia

I rounded the mall for the fifth time. Or was it the sixth? This is a tough time of year for people who have no clue how to shop efficiently. The days before the big day were running out so I had to storm the stores to find the perfect gift for my perfect wife. I know this concept is a myth but I keep trying every year. This year I met some old friends walking out of Macy’s at the mall. They were all carrying ornately decorated bags filled with what they thought was the perfect gift. I discretely hid the small brown paper bag filled with dental floss I had just purchased for my wife’s stocking gift.

Environmentalists Ignore the Truth About Fracking

Groups such as the Sierra Club have long claimed that fracking is an environmental hazard. The revolutionary drilling process “has contaminated the drinking water of hundreds of thousands of Americans,” Sierra says on its website. Must rest on some pretty sound science, right?

Where have all our heroes gone?

Our nation’s history is filled with heroes during times of greatest need. They seem to appear during times when all seem lost. They stand up to people who represent concepts that go against all we as a people believe relevant. Our Constitution has been attacked throughout our nation’s history yet there has always been someone who has the courage and love of country to defend all of us against any attack.

The misdirection playbook of Donald J. Trump

There is little difference between the misdirection plays of the National Football League and the distraction strategy of the President Elect. Bill Bellichick is famous for his defensive prowess against any offense in football. He sees a problem and he audibles a defense that distracts the offense into doing what it had planned to do. This usually results in a result that is beneficial to the team. The question is whether Donald Trump’s misdirection will be beneficial to our nation or to him?
