Obama’s last ditch regulations that devastate
by John Anthony
March 17, 2017

In the final days of Obama’s presidency two rules slid under the radar that drive explosive local planning and building costs, transfer control of certain grant-related planning to the government, and render local officials helpless to combat them.

HUD’s poor need paths to wealth, not vouchers to affluent zip codes
by John Anthony
March 2, 2017

Impoverished East Palo Alto, CA has practiced a similar HUD program for over 30 years. In 1987, their students began attending classes in tony Menlo Park, home to Silicon Valley, and more recently Facebook. At best studies show mixed results.

HUD needs faith-based initiatives to shrink poverty
by John Anthony
Feb 24, 2017

HUD’s upward mobility programs are bound to fail because they contain no mechanism for helping people build economic success. Rather than accept the fundamental truth that mental attitude and job opportunities are key to financial advancement, the agency instead uses its own circular logic.

This happens if Trump fails to rein in HUD
by John Anthony
Feb 17, 2017

If you want to know what will happen to your hometown if Trump allows the Department of Housing and Urban Development to continue its devastating control of local rule, look at Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania. It is the latest community to surrender to HUD’s aggressive tactics.

Trump can halt HUD’s AFFH, today!
by John Anthony
Jan 24, 2017

AFFH is a 2015 HUD rule that expands the definitions of what constitutes discrimination and creates an application process that greatly exposes grant recipients to compliance reviews, lawsuits, and other legal actions for failure to comply with HUD’s increasingly dictatorial demands.

Draining the cultural swamp in our children’s minds
by John Anthony
Jan 3, 2017

Our federally controlled education system collects sensitive, personally identifiable data on every public school student in America. Even their most guarded medical history no longer bears privacy. We are raising generations of children to whom personal property rights have no value. When property rights lack value, human rights vanish.

How Dr. Ben Carson can heal the wounds of Obama’s racism
by John Anthony
Dec 16, 2016

Obama’s ability to send mixed messages that at once condemn and condone; that praise and berate, to stir confusion and inflame passions became a hallmark of the President’s next eight years. To the casual observer Obama was condemning racial division. However, to those who felt themselves its victim, he provided the oxygen needed to stoke forgotten anger.

God, Classrooms and Property Rights
by John Anthony
Dec 7, 2016

This act ensured that our property rights were free from seizure. If we paid attention. To our Founding Fathers, property meant more than land. As James Madison explained in his 1792 treatise, Property, the term “embraces everything to which a man may attach a value and have a right…” He goes on to list merchandise, money, opinions, free communication of opinions, religious opinions and the practice dictated by them, personal safety and liberty, the free use of your faculties and the free choice of the objects upon which to use your faculties.

An open letter to President-elect Trump
by John Anthony
Nov 26, 2017

President-elect Trump, we do not want to ‘repeal and replace’ Obamacare any more than we want to ‘fix’ Common Core, or ‘tinker’ with HUD’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing. We want these centrally controlled mandates run down, rooted out wherever they lead, and vaporized until there is no trace they ever existed.

A Trump Strategy to Neuter HUD’s Attacks on Local Rule
by john Anthony Nov 16, 2016

Decades ago, Congress began surrendering their responsibilities to federal agencies so they could manage the details necessary to implement legislative laws. Today, those ‘details’ have enabled federal agencies to dwarf Congress. Unelected bureaucrats flood our nation with 3,000 to 4,000 new laws every year.

How HUD Makes Lousy Programs Look Great
by John Anthony
Oct 29, 2016

If a private business engaged in similar deceptive practices as our government, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau would probably fine them out of business. Unfortunately, consumers have little protection against federal dishonesty. With a dysfunctional Congress and a disturbingly powerful executive, it is up to informed citizens working with local public officials to protect our own interests.

The 911 Message that Terrifies Washington
by John Anthony
Sept 11, 2016

To sidetrack Americans from the government’s failures and gather votes, our government pits special interest groups against one another and fabricates causes to which they rally. By exploiting society’s weaknesses, politicians create endless clashes, define special interest groups, and then passionately defend them to harvest votes for the next election cycle. As the conflicts grow, people turn to the same government that exacerbated the problems to provide their solutions. It is ironic that the very politicians that caused the 2008 financial meltdown have their names on the Dodd-Frank law that will supposedly prevent its recurrence.

How HUD Tramples Liberal Voters to Boost the Liberal Elite
by John Anthony
Sept 6, 2016

The 2010 Census showed the horrible truth. The plan made it harder for the poor to survive in the city and they left in droves. “Oh my God,” Portland City Commissioner Gretchen Kafoury said when shown the figures. “We thought we were doing a good thing.” Unfortunately, with these new government programs there is no ‘delete’ button to hit once federal grant money is spent, no “undo’ button to reverse the damage to poor families, and no “reset” to win back your community’s lost authority, voter’s choices or property rights.

HUD Moves to Dictate Classroom Diversity
by John Anthony
August 24, 2016

Based on controversial reports, often using HUD provided data; the agency concludes that people living in wealthier areas have a better chance for success. Therefore, they reason, to create upward mobility for voucher recipients, HUD must relocate them into affluent neighborhoods and schools.

Surrendering our property rights
by John Anthony
July 28, 2016

In 1976, while Americans were distracted watching a manly Bruce Jenner ace the Olympic decathlon; while two Steves formed a company called Apple, and millions mimicked “meow, meow, meow, meow” to the Meow Mix commercial, two United States delegates signed an international agreement in Vancouver, Canada that accelerated the demise of our Founders’ protections. The document concluded that land “contributes to social injustice,” and “cannot be controlled by individuals.” With those signatures, our government’s official position on private property ownership reversed. The U.S. government now agreed that “public control of land use is…indispensable.”

Obama Feasts on Ignorance to Devour Property Rights
by John Anthony
June 28, 2016

If freedom holds any value, we must educate our neighbors to the link between property and human rights, and the dangers of a government that can peel off either on a whim.
