“Finding Myself in China” Footnote Links

Book Cover Image 2At the beginning of 2016 I went through the unbelievable process of trying to get a publisher to publish the story of my life in China. You can read about that experience in the article ‘Holding Authors to Ransom.’ (See also How much in royalties do book authors get paid?).

The upshot is that the publishers won’t touch the story unless I completely disconnect the book from my website, remove all links to my China Stories and use a completely different pseudonym. The reason? Because it is a true story and they might end up being sued. I have been left with no other option therefore but to publish the book myself in PDF format downloadable from this website. The PDF E-Book is interactive in that readers are able to click onto links to be directed to articles and photographs at Kingscalendar.com.

This page of links from that PDF book is now complete and the book is now available for purchase. Also published on site are Excerpts from 18 Chapters of the book.

The book contains one hundred thousand words, 234 pages and has 133 active links to the various ‘Stories from China’ and it provides real insight into normal life in China. It also includes a story about a violent incident involving citizens of five countries. Additionally it reveals my perceptions of western political correctness as viewed through the lens of my daily life in China.

Note: As Google actively hinders all websites which do not participate in their advertising platforms, and perhaps because someone at Google didn’t like a couple of articles I wrote about them, my website does not get much traction in Google searches.

The first time I wrote about them my monthly hits dropped 70% and earlier this year when I wrote again, the monthly hits took a 60% dive. It can take a year or more to build up again. I don’t understand how they do it, but if you research the issue on line I am sure you will find some opinions on  how Google ‘push down / punish’ websites who do not comply with their directives.

For this reason and additionally because this book will not be published anywhere else, I am relying on readers to actively assist me in promoting the book, by listing it in their various social media sites.

I hope readers will enjoy the book and help me promote it and I do look forward to their comments once they have read it.

Thank You.
